“ Everything was perfect. Good location, very friendly and cooperative staffs, nice and clean rooms. High street in close proximity with plenty of eat-out places which I liked very much. Freshly cooked breakfast in the morning was a perfect start for the day. Overall it was good value for money. Would stay again. ”

Under refurbishment, not allowed to use bar facilities as there was a wedding in the evening (This was at 12pm in the afternoon) room fairly tidy but not what I'd call clean and bed uncomfortable. With that said for the price its reasonable It's location is also poor

Extremely courteous and helpful staff. The helped with ALL of my requests, including early morning (4am) wake-up calls and calling of Taxis. Rooms were very clean with no smell, facilities good in the rooms, bathrooms were dry and clean. Hotel location was reasonably good, close to markets and underground (Hounslow South) We had booked 2 triple rooms for 6 of us, including my parents-in-law. The rooms were on 2nd and 3rd floors, which were a little comfortable getting up the stairs since there was no elevators.Staircase was very tight - had difficulty carrying my suitcases. Room sizes were very small. There was no AC - only a barely moving ceiling fan. We opened the window for air, but there was too much traffic noise, even at night.

I am a great believer in reading other people's reviews before buying or booking something and due the shocking state this b & b was found in I felt compeled to complete a review myself to highlight to others. We booked 3 rooms at The Shalimar Hotel for our 2 day trip to Thorpe Park half an hour away in July 2012. We chose this hotel based on the price and location to Thorpe Park. The Shalimar Hotel offered a large selection for breakfast including: orange or apple juice, tea or coffee, cornflakes, weetabix, toast, croissants, fruit, yoghurts and full english available on request. This was the only positive aspect of our one night stay here. We arrived to find very little parking available, settling eventually on the busy main road to the front of the hotel. On arrival to the reception area we were greeted by step ladders and the smell of paint. The hotel was under renovation, which it failed to mention on any of our communications. All 3 rooms were upstairs with no lift available. No assistance was offered with our bags & pushchairs. The stair bannisters were either missing, unstable or replaced by dowel with misplaced rusty nails. Room 3 (Double) to the side had a window opening onto a flat roof extension (not for the safety consious or those wishing to leave the window open at night) The shower door does not close & the room door handle & lock were also faulty. This room was also directly above the boiler room, which meant a constant humming lullaby throughout the night. Room 5 (Double) to the front overlooked the busy main road as did Room 18 (Family) The en-suite was suitable for the size 8 guests & had a faulty shower not to be used by children unless they wish to be scalded. All 3 rooms had an overwhelming stench of stale smoke upon opening, which remained on our clothes throughout the following day. The bedding & curtains appeared clean but very desperately in need of a makeover with holes visibly apparent in both net curtains & bed throws. Breakfast is served between 8-9am at weekends & although the self service was adequate enough, the standard of the full english isn't worth the wait. This hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment, which may well rectify our complaints however, no amount of paint will erase the fact that the hotel sits direclty beneath Heathrow's main flight path! Pay a little extra & go to Travel Lodge!

Staff are good and useful (usually:D). It was like a disaster when you plan to go to London and will be in a undergrand tain more than one hour?!!!!!!!!!! Also you have to pay at least 5 pounds for going there and coming back!!!!!!!!!!! Then you have to walk for 10 minutes or catch a bus!!! So, I prefer to stay in more close hotel with higher price. Also, the quality of the rooms were so bad that I haven't seen these kind of rooms in more than 10 countries that I have been and also cheaper hotel in Manchester!!!! Do not choose there unless your have to be in Hounslow district (Book 20 pounds more expensive hotel in London).

Room was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was good. Quite a lot. 1) On arrival car park was jam packed as there was a function and the front bays were full of builders' vans. This was, however, sorted out in due course. 2) Only one bath towel laid out in the room. Had to ask for more. 3) Shaving light burnt out. It was replaced quickly, but shows the room was not check properly. 4) This was the worst part: one of the windows would not shut properly no matter how hard the duty manager tried. He said that the maintenance man had gone (well yes I would expect so at 21.30) and he seemed surprised that no one had informed him of the problem. Again shows lack of attention to detail. We asked to be moved as the room faced the main road and there was a nearby alarm going off. We were informed that the hotel was full so we could not be moved. He "blocked" up the window with a towel. Luckily the alarm stopped, but it was drafty and chilly all through the night which prevented me sleeping well. In the evening we were offered a small reduction which I said I would not agree to and I would discuss the matter in the morning. When going to settle up, the new duty manager only had the original discount on his list. I said that due to the conditions during the night mentioned above, and a very noisy fridge, the discount was unacceptable. We eventually agreed an amount to pay. The whole point of staying there was to provide a stress free journey to Heathrow for an early check in for my wife. After a stressful journey the night before, due to the closure of the M4 flyover, arriving to find a room with so many faults and not being able to move did not help the stress levels. When I eventually arrived home late morning I was as tired as if I had driven down to Heathrow very early in the morning. So very unhappy with the whole episode and the most disappointing stay I've had at a hotel for a long time.

It was relatively inexpensive for this area of London and the staff were polite and clear about my stay. The reception was under construction but no mention when booking. The whole place looks very tired and the carpeting needs replacing pretty much everywhere. To reach my room I had to exit the dining room through a door marked "toilets" which seems very strange? My shower had plenty of power but sadly no hot water. The TV was a very old tiny set and signal reception poor and non-existent on some main channels. The wifi worked well. Breakfast was full English with no alternative offered. The food was over cooked but enough. On check out the bill was £5 more than the online price I had been quoted but they corrected their error willingly. I would stay again for one night on business because the local area has few alternatives but I hope it is redecorated and carpeted soon.
