Conveniently located on the A23, ibis Styles London Croydon is just 1 mile from Croydon city centre. There are good bus links outside the hotel, and guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi.
Score from 582 reviews Good
Great for overnight stay if catching an early train. Close to shopping centre and shops. Looked like it was a pretty area of London. Although on a main street, the noise was hardly heard. A warm, comfortable stay.
Bit small to move around. Steep stairs.
The hotel has an excellent location with the tube station, buses, supermarkets and lovely shopping nearby. The staff is very helpful. There's a fridge and a microwave in the kitchen available for the guests use. I had a clean single room in the basement with shared facilities which were up the stairs but have never been occupied. Wasn't troubled with any noise. Good free WiFi. Great value for money. Will definitely stay here again.
Free Parking Free WiFi Very Clean Room, Bathroom
Not En-Suite, Can't complain, excellent value for money. Bathroom Very Clean
Very comfortable bed, good shower pressure, and a variety of TV channels.
There is less for breakfast than there used to be, which is too bad. Also, the shower drain seemed to be blocked, which pooled up the water in the stall very quickly.
Allison, the lady at the desk, is charming and extremely helpful. She helped us find a room after we had checked out of the Shandon House, only to find that the Osborn hotel was a dump. We continued our stay at the Shandon House and we would recommend it highly!
* Place was clean and quiet * Good Location a few minutes walk from Richmond Tube * Staff was extremely nice, hospitable and helpful. * I forgot my hairdryer and wall addapter, and lighter, they provided me with all of these. * When I left I had forgotten some important letters, they saved them for me, contacted me about them and mailed them back to me. They were pleasant and always ready to accommodate me in any way. Nothing negative to say. Very good energy in this place.
Clean with plenty of hanging space for clothes. Free wifi. Value for money compared with other local hotels. Easy to get to with some free parking.
No drinking water available in room and only hot water in tap. Bad night's sleep as room was just beside the 24-hour reception - take ear plugs. Limited selection for breakfast
The room was nice, staff friendly
Shared shower filled up with water after a minute and there was no little shelf to put shampoo etc in the shower. Staff and other customers were very loud in the morning coming down to breakfast. . No other option than jam at breakfast. Construction workers very loud
I think it's great that guests have facilities (fridge and microwave) to use in the kitchen and dining room at any time of the day. All the staff I met were polite, friendly and helpful.
Off street parking
Love the room
Very poor breakfast for the price Bed not as comfortable as I like
the very friendly Lady at the reception got our( lost by airplane )suitcase back. She telefoned at least aroud 8 times with the airline. Thank you!
That I only stayed one night. The hotel was clean, and near to Richmond centre. Would only recommend the hotel for location and cleanliness, would warn about breakfast.
The breakfast was advertised as 'continental', only fruit juice, yoghurt, cereal and toast served. Not what I was expecting. Also I had to change my booking from 4 adults to 3. I was told over the phone that the single occupancy would be £55, I was charged £65, and they said that I would not have been told that price.
Excellent value budget hotel. Short walk from station/town centre. Staff all friendly/helpful. Facilities basic but adequate. Standard of decor/furnishings good & much improved since before hotel fire a few years ago.
Woman at the reception really lovely and helpful.Good location.
location and price. Staff was friendly and provided good information.
Room in front of building on very busy street. Traffic noise made me resort to earplugs to get to sleep. Bathroom had a strong mold smell. Shower ceiling showed water damage, probably hiding mold.
Shandon House is a no frills place to stay with clean rooms and bathrooms. The staff is friendly. Love Mr. Joseph. He was so helpful while I was there, getting my daughter situated at University. The location is perfect and close to everything. I fully intend to stay at Shandon House during all my future trips to Richmond!
Nothing...for the value it is the perfect place to stay!
The location was good and had a free car park at the back
Very noisy even with double glazing. The rooms are in need of decorating, but not bad value
Generally good hotel with very friendly and accommodating staff - we had an early start on Sunday morning, they made breakfast earlier to fit with this and were generally helpful
Our room was right next to the street and also the reception so was difficult to sleep due to noise.
Poor choice for breakfast
This was in a good location, 5 minutes from Richmond Station, shops and restaurants. Very reasonably priced for London. Clean comfortable and got what I paid for. I definitely would stay again.
Breakfast was limited but adequate, and as mentioned you get what you pay for. The single room although adequate and basic did have an exceptionally small bathroom with possibly the smallest sink in the world which wasn't ideal.
Location, friendly staff and amenities It is on a busy street but I didn't find this a problem
The hotel was more than I expected. Very reasonable price and feeling comfortable. I understand why difficult to book.
Location, breakfast was served in a lovely clean, bright room, breakfast was eventually got the room right. After complaining we eventually got another bed which was better than being squashed in a small double. Seemed to be a problem with booking .com not passing on booking correctly, I requested a twin room and hotel only received info for a double room.
Dry small double bed, I booked through booking .com and requested twin room for myself and daughter, when we arrived we where told only a double room request from booking .com not a twin. We were shown to a small room with pillows and towels for one person.
the noise from the street all night long. the paintwork needs touching up to put it mildly. no air con. no bannisters on slippy stairs. toilet not clean on entering the room. you get what you pay for.
