Shandon House Hotel  

Excellent position very close to Richmond station, and a short walk to Richmond town centre with shops and restaurants, and to Kew Gardens. Nicely decorated rooms, excellent shower. Very good choice of continental breakfast.

This hotel is clean, tidy and well presented. The staff are efficent and friendly. The location is within two mins walk from Richmond Railway Station and I would recommend the hotel to any one visiting London and who does not want to stay in the expensive City hotels.

I thought the location was good. The staff were friendly. It was reasonably priced. The room was very clean.

The breakfast was only continental.There was no traditional English breakfast. My room was too warm even with the radiator turned off. The picture quality with the tv was very poor with most channels

Great price, good location, great transport links, clean, bright and quiet. Stay there regularly.

Cheap and an excellent location

Nooks and crannies a bit dirty, the place is starting to look a bit tired and could do with having some money spent on it

Comfortable bed and pillows, single tap in the sink, cleanliness of shower room and wonderful power shower! After a transatlantic flight that arrived very early in the morning, I was given a room almost right away and invited to eat breakfast while I waited. Excellent value for money.

I really don't like separate toilet and shower rooms - it is highly unhygienic to have only a toilet, with no sink readily available for washing one's hands. The tv in the room is so high up that it is a strain on the neck to watch - perhaps it could be put in another spot?

Staff were friendly and very helpful with assistance and directions to a new visitor to London. They were new locations very well and went out of their way to make it a pleasant although short stay. Online booking and conformation was easy.

As an overseas visitor not previously having been to London some additional information, prefereably a map, on the location of the hotel would have been handy and included with the reservation confirmation. Fortunately, details were available on Google Earth. Would be most helful if transport to the hotel could be provided especially how to get from Heathrow (in my case I used the bus but needed assistance at the airport on the best transport which was bus, however, it was very confusing on where to get off the bus especially as there is a Church Street nearby that turned out to be the wrong bus stop.

Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Location is convenient for Richmond town centre and station.

Nice (twin) room, comfortable bed (though a bit short for anyone over six feet) and good service (they sorted out an overcharge without me even asking). The breakfast was basic but fine and the location was good (next to railway station).

A bit noisy in the morning (lots of traffic).

Parking issues - be aware that parking is not guaranteed at this hotel - there was no space in the car park and finding a space where you can park for more than 2 hours in Richmond is very difficult.

I liked nothing apart from the location
