Shandwick Hotel and Suites

Hotellin hinta-, laatusuhde on hyvä ja sijainti erinomainen. Kahvin ja teen keittomahdollisuus oli hyvä juttu, voi itse laittaa välipalaa. Myös mikroaaltouuni oli, voi lämmittää ruokaa, jos halusi. Hintaan kuului myös tuhti englantilainen aamiainen. Ruokakauppa on melkein hotellia vastapäätä ja bussipysäkki oven edessä.

Hoteellihuoneeni oli kylmähkö (syyskuun alussa), pyynnöstäni keskuslämmitys laitettiin päälle kyseiseen huoneeseen. Majoituin yhden hengen huoneessa, ja jaoin kylpyhuone-wc yhdistelmän toisen yhden hengen huoneen kanssa. Kylpyhuoneessa ei ollut lattiakaivoa, naapurin käytyä suihkussa lattia lainehti vettä. Vain suihkun alla olevassa altaassa oli viemäri, joka oli melkein tukossa, eikä sitä siivottu auki. Aamiaishuone on siisti, kodikas ja lämmin, mutta pöytiä on liian paljon, ihmiset eivät mahdu istumaankunnolla.

Very spacious, well presented accomodation, fully equipped and in an excellent location for all attractions and amenities. Staff very efficient and friendly.

Was good to have a bathroom adjacant to the bedroom. The receptionist was pleasant and it was a good location near to the centre of the city.

The room was noisy. Although there was a lane behind, it seemed that all of Edinburgh's nightlife seemed to pass by - I was woken several times during the night. There is no breakfast room - guests have to go to reception where they get a breakfast pack and have to return to their room to eat breakfast. They charged my card prior to my visit and also imposed a transaction charge for using the card!

The rooms heating didn't seem to work, and although a complaint was made, nothing was done.

People are intent on giving this hotel a bad review based upon the fact that it isn't as good as the Sheraton up the road! Well, the truth of the matter is that you aren't going to find another hotel this close to the centre of Edinburgh for the money... You get what you pay for and so in terms of value for money, this hotel tops the lot!

Ok, it's shabby, grubby in (many) places and can feel as if you've just signed yourself in to some eastern european hostel; but other than that it's fine...

Having a room to stay in and friendly staff.

Other residents very noisy in the early hours of the morning & banging of doors woke me up several times. The heating in the room was very poor. The 'continental' breakfast was not explained on the internet (where I made the booking) or to me the night before. I asked at reception in the morning where to go with the ticket for breakfast and was given a bag with the 'breakfast' in. I was surprised and extremely disappointed. I had no facilities to make a hot drink in my room, and with an intolerance to milk and additives in the juice and no choice available for alternatives I did not accept the 'breakfast in a bag'. This 'breakfast' is totally miss sold on your website, not what I was expecting, and totally overpriced.

The hotel had the luxury of being very close to all public transport.

rude staff who I had to ask questions of rather than them offer information (e.g. 'how do I get back into the building at night?'); had to request heating to be turned on in room; cold showers; terrible breakfast; noisy guests.

It is a cheap hotel in a centre of the city which is accessible easily.

Small bed and thin duvet. Breakfast is a packed bag and brought to the room to prepare myself.
