Shard Riverside  

Shard Riverside was a very nice, clean , comfortable hotel. The staff were very accommodating in every need and welcoming. The food was excellent, the location was stunning.

This was our first stay at the shard but we were made to feel that we had visited many times.from the time we arrived and for all our stay everyone was very friendly and helpful.the room was large airy and very clean it had a large bathroom with a fantastic shower. Breakfast was one of the best with a great choice. This hotel is worth every one of its 4 stars. Can't wait to go back. .

local for wedding event taking place at Singleton Lodge. Friendly stafff - when lady at front desk noticed disabled partner - referred us to an easier door for access to rooms - and also moved us to a lower level room, without us having to ask.

If there was a hand rail on both sides of staircase, then we wouldnt have needed to go through fire doors. Partner only has use of right arm . .coming down great - but going up dificult.

Lovely situation beside river. Comfortable country inn, friendly atmosphere. Is close to the Fylde coast but without all the tackiness of Blackpool.

No lift - I find stairs quite difficult - but still the best in the area.

The staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome. The friends we were visiting joined us for breakfast and this was no trouble at all to the staff at the hotel - they were very accomodating.

Our only thought would be that the room, although very clean and comfortable was on the small side, as was the shower room attached. However it is understood our visit co-incided with a large booking and it would not prevent us from visiting again soon.

I liked the quality and cleanliness of the rooms. The view of the river was wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was good.

Four star comfort without the four star price. The rooms are always comfortable and the restaurant is excellent value for money and with the riverside views it really is an excellent place to stay.

Good location, friendly, efficient staff. Would stay there again.

Excellent family run hotel, with dining facilities way above the expected standard. Attentive staff who genuinely wanted to provide a good service. We will have no hesitation in returning.

Only 1 small observation - no black pudding with the 'Full English' breakfast!

Cleanliness

On arrival being ignored whilst receptionist made a telephone call, size of room 5 was a very small double; only having one towel; having no bath; heating too hot and could not open window as the room overlooked the hotel car park and busy road bridge so very noisy; room proximity in the hotel situated directly next to the hotel's main stair case which was not fully carpeted meant we heard every foot step of every individual using the stairs! Breakfast was average so whole cost meant our one night staff was over priced

I was expecting a quality hotel and wasn’t let down…..Splendid.

We have stayed several times at the 'Shard' and enjoyed ourselves every time, both on our own and with our teenage boys. The contemporary feel in a relaxed setting, friendly staff, clean rooms often with views and lovely breakfast is always 'looked forward to'! We are sure to stay again due to family visits in the future.

Room was lovely in a beautiful setting. Staff very friendly and helpful.

I would have preferred a Queen size bed as the room was very large and could easily have accomodated one - would have made it much more luxurious.
