The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and really made our stay enjoyable. The food was of a high standard and wine selection good. The rooms were spacious and decorated tastefully to a high standard. We went for a romantic chilled break in a rural location that was easily accessible to Blackpool. We will definitely return to the Shard Inn and intend to visit it's sister hotel in Glasson Dock. There was nothing to dislike

Smart and modern, good restaurant on site, parking no problem, very good choice for breakfast Pity the double room did not have a king-sized bed, as is becoming the norm now, room was plenty big enough!

Super location, good beer, helpful staff Food very variable (as if a rota is used to cook food). I think food is cooked for their convenience and not quality. Shower floor slippery (which could cost them in court). Lack of attention to detail. I feel the hotel is run by committee, and not some individual hell bent on doing 110% to make sure its tops If they got their act together they could make a lot of money. I am being a bit critical to get the points over!

The location great position overlooking an interesting estuary. The Hotel was very clean and met our needs perfectly with friendly staff, efficient service and comfortable room. The restaurant staff were able to meet our early meal request well and the food was well cooked and presented. All in all the stay met our particular needs very well. If needing to be in the Fylde area again will definitely use the Shard.

Nice location, and amazing steak, was one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. Expect £20 taxi ride to central Blackpool, or the staff did say there was a bus. Guy on reception was most helpful, we would definitely go back if we're in the vicinity.

We loved the location. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were very professional and friendly. We found it very relaxing to stay there. The bathroom was very small, not much room to store toiletries.

Clean room with good views of the estuary, quiet location, staff very friendly and very helpful, evening meal was good quality food. Would definitely stay again. Bathroom was "compact" (although clean functional ) and a lift would have been useful as my partner was on crutches. However when the receptionist saw this she moved us from the third floor to the first floor.

The hotel is clean, bright and modern. The rooms are comfortable and the food served is of a good standard. The greatest asset of the Shard Riverside however is the staff. To a man (or woman) they could not have been more helpful and their freindlyness seemed 100% genuine, non of the corporate "have a nice day" pretence here. I booked the same day as our stay and requested a riverside view. However we were given a room overlooking the car park (closest car 6 feet from the window and on the same level). We notified the reception who found us another room which still over the car park was at least elevated and allowed us to see the river. This is not meant as a criticism, just make sure you book early.

The place was friendly, the staff welcoming. I can best describe this hotel as warm and comfortable, relaxed and easy. The food while limited to a la Carte was absolutely top class, and had plenty of choice and variation. I did not dislike anything at all; My only could improve comment is; less haste more speed. While staff seem to rush around, to limited effect. Bar staff in particular took an age to get through an order, taking 10 minutes to get an order through the bar. Waiting staff missed bringing garnish/ vegetables to table. A recommendation to residents to book a table early would be welcome as we had towait till 9 to dine on Saturday.

Have stayed at the Shard Bridge several times over the years and the quality, comfort, cleanliness - not to mention the wonderful breakfasts! ... has never faltered. Can't wait to try their sister hotel - the Mill at Condor Green.

Travelled for night away from Manchester, this is great hotel convenient for bag of chips on Blackpool front, but appeals to those interested in a more rural and scenic location. Amazing views over the estuary from our room, lovely bar and helpful staff! Great bolt hole from the hussle of life!

The hotel was excellent, one of the best I have ever stayed in and the views were superb. Staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were very clean and comfortable, food was excellent and there was a very good choice. The bar was also well-stocked. I would definately stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent staff who always where there to help and tell you places to visit in the area. Room was at a very good standard and housekeeping completed well each day with restocking of used items. Will go again for sure for a long weekend just to visit the area and not for business needs.

Very friendly atmosphere and staff.Everyone was very helpful and you did not feel that any request made was any trouble by the staff. The absence of a lift is a slight problem as I have trouble with stairs but other than that We couldn't fault the hotel

The Shard is a lovely cosy hotel, it has beautiful decor, the staff were friendly polite and offered excellent customer service. The breakfast was delicious and piping hot, we didn't eat in the restaurant at the evening but the menu looked good with plenty of choice..The room we had overlooked the River Wyre and was clean, tastefully decorated, warm and comfortable. Within the surrounding area are plenty of walks, pubs and restaurants should you not wish to use hotels facilities. I would highly recommend The Shard its close to Blackpool, Fleetwood and Cleveleys so plenty of places to visit whilst there should you wish to go out and explore. Fantastic!!!!!
