Good choices and standard of individually cooked breakfasts. Lovely views from the restaurant and from most of the rooms. Friendly, hard-working staff.

No lift (although help was willingly offered to carry the bags). Might ask for a first floor room next time!

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, perfect location and superb cask ale. We were made to feel special and welcome even though we were only staying 1 night.

Pillows not the best. Starters at dinner not the best - the smoked fish platter was mainly cheap frozen prawns which are not smoked fish. The calamari/scampi was equally poor although very well presented.

I had room 15, although the room was very nice the window looked straight out to the carpark and approach road, so to get changed or showered you had to close your blind fully for privacy.which made the room very dark! Food although very good was very expensive

The friendliness, the atmosphere and the situation. The rooms were good as were the beds and bathrooms - clean, comfy.

the fish and chips and onion rings were under cooked, the service a little slow and there were cobwebs in the bedroom. It may have been an off night since they were busy and the rest of the food was very good. The rooms were light and airy it was unfortunate about the cobwebs but they may have appeared over night.

Quiet and classy establishment with nice facilities and pleasant staff.

The restaurant was a bit pricey.

Pleasant greeting on arrival, lovely views from the room. Fantastic steak cooked perfectly for our evening meal and a lovely breakfast. Waiting staff very friendly. Despite the dislikes I would go back and recommend this hotel.

Lack of furniture in the room (6), there was only one chair but a large space with nothing in it.It would have been nice to sit in an easy chair by the window to enjoy the view. Bathroom smelt a little damp and the shower curtain was mouldy along the bottom.

The bar staff and the restaurant staff were excellent, always happy to chat and nothing was a problem. The hotel was situated in a perfect place for us and it was easy to find. The food was excellent

There was nothing there not to like

Everything was excellent: Room clean bright & modern & everything worked! Staff friendly & helpful. Evening meal (booked separately) was excellent as usual

Breakfast, whilst good, was not of quite the same standard as evening meal (slightly oily)

need better pilows ours were ?foam and quite solid the hallway to the bedrooms somehow smelt like a hospital?? and you need better toilet roll

Room was very nice. Check in was good.

Felt rushed after dinner at 11pm as restaurant had emptied. We had made a group up to dine of 8 but felt we were holding up closing for the member of staff. As it was xmas function time 11ish doesnt seem late especially a I had also booked to stay over at the hotel..

It is a well appointed hotel with a very atmospheric bar and an excellent restaurant. The staff were extremly helpful and work hard to please. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and have everything you could need. We had an excellent stay and we recommend the hotel wholeheartly.

Comfortable, very clean, friendly staff. Room was warm and cosy and overlooked the river and had all the amenities you'd want - tv with freeview; fast, uninterrupted wifi; tea and coffee-making facilities. Breakfast was nice and the service was prompt and friendly.

Room door lock was quite stiff and there was a strange buzzing sound coming from somewhere (might have been nothing to do with the hotel) that woke me a few times, otherwise it was excellent and I would definitely stay here again.

Food was delicious!

We were on top floor. The stairs were a bit much for my partner who is 84! Floor was a bit stick!
