The staff were very pleasant and polite, food good withgood service and atmosphere.
The signage on the road needs changing!Go figure!
Location good for our purpose, staff very friendly and accommodating. All facilities on one level not too many steps - 2 of the party have mobility problems.
Noise from rooms above very late into the morning. Feather bedding problem due to allergies (I am sure this could have been sorted but too late finding out already dressed for bed)
Key card didn't work No remote control in room No telephone in room- what happens if there is an emergency through the night? Can't sit on chairs to watch tv as it is placed to watch in bed not everyone likes this very uncomfortable saying this the chairs were really uncomfortable too No where really to put toiletries around sink in bathroom and this was an executive room Repeatedly knocked our knees on bed end corners not pleasant Long Problem with RAD points card when checking out I could go on...
Good location, friendly staff and excellent food. Superb value for money.
The rooms were lovely and cosy. Plenty of tea and coffee, usually only get one per person. Actual iron and board.
Very hot through the night. Buffet breakfast no rolls or croissants. We're not asked if we required more tea or coffee with our breakfast.
Everything I think. Room were to a very high standard. Nice biscuit and nice smellies. There for a wedding and the restaurant staff were fab - made sure my vegan needs were catered for and always with a smile. The wee dark haired receptionist on arrival was lovely and incredibly professional and helpful.
There was a wee green light above the room door that would not go out and we could not find a switch. My OH moaned about it (a lot!) because he could not get to sleep. The pillows to be honest were a wee bit wishy washy.
Fantastic value great location
Prawn cocktail was very poor
Enjoyed our meal in the restaurant.Staff were helpful regarding directing us to Strathclyde park.
Restaurant service and venue was very good.
Terrible scrambled eggs on toast at breakfast.
I have stayed here twice. The staff, the food, the room, location. one of the best hotels I have stayed in for a while. felt right at home
nothing really, my need a little tlc in some of the rooms
The TV in the room was a generous size and had a fantastic picture. The room was also very spacious. There is a wide menu. Please note Sat nav not 100% accurate.
I ordered a meal containing spinach but got shredded mangetout instead ?. This was rectified immediately.
I liked the bar and the restaurant and breakfast was good too
Excellent food Wifi
Pillows are too soft
We arrived late & weren't made to leave early. Room was very nice. Comfortable, clean, quiet. Staff helpful and considerate.
No breakfast card in room. Couldn't get through to Room Service. Had to call reception for breakfast to be delivered to the room, but reception were very helpful.
Location food is good quality friendly staff decent nights sleep good wi fi
Kind staff even if reception was sometimes empty
Something brown and liquid was coming out of the floor tiles in the bathroom Ventilation of the bathroom was not working The hotel has just changed its name and it's not easy to find
Friendly staff, really smart looking hotel, food was excellent, comfy bed and a great shower,,what more do you need
The staff were friendly and pleasant. Most of the food was good Large car park large TV in bedroom No noise heard from neighbouring bedrooms
Main bathroom light not working on arrival and as there was no window in bathroom it was very dim. Had to get a shower in this low light level- took 2 requests to reception to get a bulb. The same light was not fixed to the ceiling very well and was hanging down at one side. Heated towel rail did not work. The only shelf in the bathroom was full of the hotel toiletries so we had to leave our stuff in the toilet bag and leave it on the floor. All it needs is a small shelf for guests use. Lift worked when we arrived but never worked again during our 2 night stay so we had to use the stairs. The stairs were the emergency exit stairs and are solid metal and only lit by emergency lighting. We were told these are the only stairs. Everywhere was carpeted so a nice set of carpeted well lit stairs would be nice instead of what is here. We requested a double room but got a twin. Sunday breakfast - no cereal dishes-no glasses for juice-had to request butter for toast twice.Staff said they had run out of crockery so we had to wait for some to be washed. Nice bacon and egg but spoiled by the poor quality sausage. I did not think anyone made sausage as bad as this anymore- was expecting decent quality in a hotel like this. Bedroom on the small size means not much space down side of bed. beds had solid wood sides which are painful when you walk into them which happened a few times as there was not enough space between bed and wall, and bed and dresser. Bedroom lit by 2 small lamps next to beds, no ceiling light so it was not bright enough. To be fair lots of hotels are like this for some reason. There was a handle missing from a wardrobe door so you had to open the other door first. Hotel needs to spend more on maintenance to keep everything working for its guests. Hotel was very busy so it should be able to afford to keep itself repaired.
Particularly liked open, free WiFi - no messing with passwords etc.
Everything is excellent about the hotel.
Confusion about the booking, as it is the Radstone formerly Shawlands, but it is still called Shawlands.
Excellent value meal in the restaurant. Friendly staff
Everything apart from what I have written below in the dislikes!
As I am disabled I didn't like having to go out the front door and down the sloping drive way to the restaurant, when it's windy/wet it's not nice - the last time I was there in Nov 2013 there was a small lift. Perhaps you should look into this asap!!
