Staff were so lovely. The most welcoming I've come across. The B&B is set in gorgeous location. Rooms are decorated to a decent standard. Loved the fact the coffee was filtered. Spa was a great touch. My mattress had broken springs. Walls weren't good at stopping noise. A pipe in the Superior Double room made a lot of noise when guests went to the toilet. Parking is limited. Had a fair bit of trouble trying to find the B&B. Definitely need a Tv in the bedrooms.

The dining room lounge area was okay Poor directions/signage to indicate the house- Sign was on the ground- not visible from a car. junk in the back yard-No hot water to take a bath.Surly, almost rude housekeeper. Out of date cheese served at breakfast and on the turn ham, Gone off fruit.Over priced for the service and utilities provided. Will NOT be using this guest house again.

The location was perfect for me. It is a nice, quiet spot with lovely views. I wanted a budget-friendly place to stay, rather than a holiday experience. The B&B advertised a sauna which was the reason why I chose Shelley over other B&Bs but unfortunately it wasn't working for the duration of my stay. I would have liked to have been informed of this before arrival as I probably would have looked at staying elsewhere had I known. Also my payment was taken from my card before my stay and I was charged £112 more than the cost of my stay. The payment went out in the first week of March (a month before my stay) and I was only reimbursed in May after putting a claim in via my credit card company. The elegant fine china and daily newspapers mentioned in the description of the B&B were not something that I saw while there, but not something that I was particularly concerned about. Breakfast was not exactly a gastronomic experience, but again, not something that I was particularly looking for on this occasion.

Nice cheap friendly place on the outskirts of Aber. Good breakfast...helpful staff. Was a little hard to find, especially if you don't know the area (I do so was lucky). Not well signposted.

The quiet country position, cheery vibe and cleanliness. A lovely home-cooked breakfast with nice quality details such as freshly squeezed juice and a good range of condiments. The mattress could have been a bit firmer, and the doors needed some WD40 as quite squeaky.

Brief but friendly initial welcome. Julian made us a sandwich as we were late arriving due to train problems. Had use of sitting room etc. Very lumpy bed, noisy floors so could hear anyone moving around. Furniture was old 1 bookcase nearly collapsed when we took a book off it. Breakfast was not continental it was just cereal, toast and juice.Hard to find especially in the dark. No one there apart from guests. Payment was taken a month before we stayed.

1. It had on-site parking. 2. It was not too expensive. 1. It was my 1st experience of a uk b&b & I was very surprised to find that there was no owner's staff resident on site. It gave me some concerns about safety especially as the keys were just left in an envelope taped to the front door. There were 2 other guest groups there at the same time & what would have happened if one of them had turned out to be unruly "yobos"? The place is in a fairly isolated rural area & I did not notice any phone in the house although I did not specifically look for one. My companion had a mobile phone but I do not have one & if I was travelling by myself what would I do if problems arose with some of the other guests? Fortunately that was not the case. I did not notice any "unattended" advice when I did the on-line booking. When I made my bookings for Zurich, Switzerland, this info was given & I specifically ruled out unattended accommodation. 2. In q.2 above I have graded the hotel staff as "Poor". I wish to make it clear that this does not apply to the teenager that was dropped off to prepare the breakfast. She seemed a bit shy & inexperienced but did her best & after feeling comfortable with us was very pleasant & answered our local questions as best she could. The "Poor" grading is based on there not being ANY hotel staff resident on site. 3. The cost was charged to my credit card over 3 months before we stayed there. Again I did not see any advice to this effect when I did the on-line booking. However I can now see why - there would be nobody on-site to do any financial transactions. 4. Perhaps more a reflection of the poor signposting we were to find on Welsh roads but we had a fair bit of trouble finding the place.

The Good: We stayed in the double room on the ground floor. The room is spacious and interestingly furnished. The room has a sloping glass roof over half its area and a glass wall that gives onto the garden. The room had easy access to a sauna, shower and loo. The breakfast of cereal and toast, tea and coffee was good quality and pleasant. The walls are full of art. The sitting room was full of books, music - including a piano. The garden had plenty of places for reading or loafing - it would be a great place for a group staying for several days! I had chosen the place as we were on motor bikes and, perhaps wrongly, I was worried they might suffer on a Saturday night in town. So offroad parking was appreciated. Instead we took taxis into town (OW, with whom Julian had a £3.00 per trip deal- worth insisting on this with the driver - one asked for a fiver). We enjoyed it - luckily we overcame our first impressions. The Not-so-Good - all remediable. The guest house is hard to find. The only sign is down on the ground outside. The exterior is so unappealing and ramshackle that we nearly turned round at that point. We never met the well-regarded Julian, but he must be a seven-footer - the few mirrors are still at Gargantuan heights - my GF had to stand on a chair... Echoing a comment in 2011, glasses for water by bed would be good. No bedside light. No light in sauna. The occupants in a room above separated by a window and a sheet were audible. No curtain in shared shower. No window or extractor in shared loo.

A lovely B&B in a fantastic location. Julian (the owner) was friendly and very helpful. Perfect place for a getaway and very good value for money. Not far from town & Sea front. I would recommend staying at Shelley's Guest house.

Unexpected sauna was lovely, owner was very friendly and informative, great place to stay. No wifi, television downstairs didn't seem to work. Could have been nice to have small TV in every bedroom instead of sharing a communial one downstairs.

Linen was clean No one to greet us, manager / owner not resident, message to text that we were there and what time we wanted breakfast. Old and tatty furniture, bed was stained with very lumpy and uncomfortable mattress. No carpets and floorboards made every movement of other guests very noisy especially at night. Cats come through cat flaps throughout night and scratch / meaow at doors. Breakfast was poor and once served owner / manager left with a comment to leave key and shut door when we left.

apart from it being quiet nothing at all attention to detail as we felt we were in a recycled room in every respect. the bed and mattress were so low we may as well been on the floor the breakfast is not even worth mentioning all and all although it did not cost the earth i really could not find any redeeming qualities to recommend this house

Absolutely nothing, upon arrival we were not sure if we were at the right place, knocked on the door and had to wait for several minutes, we could not get a response and called out, the place is a little bit like a hostel in appearance, fairly clean but untidy, as you walk into an open plan area and the kitchen is quite messy, the bedroom was tidy but the bed was old lumpy and squeaked whenever you moved. It stated breakfast was part if the offer, however I wouldn't recommend it, we expected a full English and it took the manager 20 minutes to make tea and coffee, I was asked if I would like scrambled eggs with my breakfast and was later presented with a saucer of just that one scrambled egg, I would not recommend this place to anyone. As we were there for 1 night I couldn't wait to leave. Friendly host though, if a little bumbly. Well everything, I will not stay there again. Disappointed was an under statement. The pictures for the guest house did not match up to the actual place, we were greeted with please ignore the fire damage, as soon as the insurance pays up it will be repaired,( there had been an incident in the shower room ) for the price I expected more.
