“Excellent welcome and we liked the ambiance. The honesty bar was a nice touch, although we didn't use it, it was an excellent facility. The guest lounge was also very good with a good selection of magazines.”

We found the hotel very comfortable and relaxing. The room and hotel is very clean and well appointed, all the facilities we required were available. The proprietors were very welcoming and put you instantly at ease. Great breakfast and a wonderful location. Would not hesitate to recommend Shelly’s as a great place to spend time at and look forward to visiting again in the future.

The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The owners were hospitable and generally attentive. The breakfast was of a high standard and there was no waiting around. The location is excellent for walks in the Lymouth area and convenient for the town centre etc. All in all pretty up-market and good value. This is not a hotel because it does not provide any meals with the exception of breakfast. This means that evening meals must be at restaurants nearby. This should have been made clear and in my opinion this was not the case. It is in fact an up-market b&b which is much better description of the facilities on offer. Breakfast times are regimented between 8.15 and 9.15 and check in is after 3.00 P.M. There is an honesty bar but charging full hotel prices.

Excellent welcome and we liked the ambiance. The honesty bar was a nice touch, although we didn't use it, it was an excellent facility. The guest lounge was also very good with a good selection of magazines. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot and cold dishes, including Full English, kippers, and even kedgeree. Only a short walk to the sea front with some very good local pubs with a good choice of places for an evening meal. We found the pillows a little uncomfortable and our bed-head was loose (but a well placed blanket stopped that moving). Nothing major that we did not like.

The friendly staff were exceptional the overall atmosphere of the hotel is of a homely nature I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a break away you can do as little or as much as you like. The position of the hotel is very central to the shops harbour and the beautiful walk to Watersmeet. We will certainly come again but for longer! nothing

Location - seaviews, closeness to Lymouth for strolling around the town, convenience for walks. The day after I booked the price of the rooms appeared to drop by £35 pounds so I was annoyed by this.

We will always remember our stay at Shelleys. After a day's travel the warm friendly welcome by the hosts makes you feel like you have arrived home. The room and view was superb. Clean comfortable bed in a good size room. The breakfast variety was great and the hosts always had time to chat even when they were busy. The lounge was great to use the wifi and chat with the other travellers. A very enjoyable two night stay. The parking across the street is a bit of a problem but a minor one all things considered.

Fantastic view from conservatory balcony, attentive staff, fabulous breakfast. A real relaxing atmosphere. There is no carpark attached to the hotel, although this is not a problem as you can park in the public carpark opposite. This is £4.50 for 24hrs although the Hotel can provide a reduced price parking permit for £3 per day.

Location at the heart of the village. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was substantial and filling. We selected the Bay Room and were pleased at it being bright, comfortable, airy, spacious, and with very nice view of the village and the Bristol Channel. Public Car Parking is very close to the hotel and for £6 the hotel provided us a 48 hour parking voucher. Village evening hub seems to center around 1 pub which is very nice and friendly, just a few minutes walk from the hotel. Excellent convenience. Lovely 2 nights stay. The En Suite was quite small with the wc being only 5 feet away from the bed, and the tv was also very small and old fashioned but neither of these affected our 2 night stay being very enjoyable. We would return.

It was nice to leave the car in the car park and walk to the local places of interest. Our room had a balcony which was a lovely place to relax, enjoy the sea view and watch the world go by. We felt comfortable coming and going and the honesty bar was nice option. The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been the option of an evening meal.

The Conservatory rooms were very pleasant indeed; the lounge was delightful and the 'trust the resident' bar seemed to be an excellent arrangement. Breakfast was ampe and a fine selection No problems at all. We were also upgraded to a conservatory room - which was very well received by us.

Spotlessly clean room, very friendly owners, excellent breakfast. Was nice that our tea / coffee preferences with breakfast were remembered after the first day - quite often in hotels you can feel like no-one bothers to remember who you are from one minute to the next but this felt really attentive. Beautiful part of the country for long but hilly walks.
