Sherbrooke Castle Hotel

Das Hotel hat viel Charme. Es ist keines der anonymen Großstadthotels. So stellt man sich ein schottisches Hotel vor, roter Teppich in Schottenmuster, geräumige Zimmer, sehr schöner Vordergarten. Es ist sehr empfehlenswert. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig, typisch schottisch mit Pilzen, Bacon, Rühreiern, Spiegeleiern....)

Über kleinere Details sollte man hinwegsehen können (z.B. Fenster müssen mal nachgestrichen werden, oder die Ansicht im Hinterhof)

Frühstücksbuffet nicht sehr reichhaltig

Quiet, well preserved building in an historically affluent community. Staff were professional, friendly, attentive and inobtrusively efficient. The kitchen was excellent.

The first receptionist I met was terrific; she gave me maps, advice, called a taxi, asked me what I needed, was I comfortable, etc...

1) During the breakfast service the staff was doing heavy cleaning with odorous cleaning fluids - this caused me to lose my appetite and I had to forego breakfasts for the rest of my stay. 2) The "continental" breakfast said it included meats and cheeses but it did not. 3) I came in late one night and asked if any food was available; the receptionist said I could get a sandwich and a drink. It turns out he had to go and make the sandwich! He put one slice of ham on a couple of pieces of bread with some tomato slices and I was charged 7.50 GBP! Outrageous!

The large size of the room, the comfortable bed and the view plus the excellent breakfast.

The staff were very friendly and efficient. It was close to Glasgow but you felt you were away from it all as well. They were considerate when allocating us a room because they put us in a seperate quiet area because there was a wedding on.The breakfast was lovely!

I was initially a bit disappointed not to get a room in the hotel itself but it was a lovely room all the same and considerate of them to give us a bit of peace from the weddings. I also had hoped for the free-standing bath which kept being shown alongside the room but I understand all room don't have this. Would be nice to know if the room did or didn't have a bath before arrival.

Restaurant service was not good and the food was limited as the hotel kept on running out of items on the menu

Wonderful hotel, great food & bar. Rather expensive for hotel in suburbs

Since our last stay about a year ago the hotel has added extra rooms. These are very comfortable, spacious, well furnished with modern decor.The breakfast is very good.Would use again.

Everything starting from the grounds it was set in to the friendlyness of the staff and most especially the room we had

We stayed on what were so far the hottest days of the year meaning that even at night the room with all of the windows open was too hot.Maybe they need to look at air conditioning.

It's just a little far from the center of the City
