Location was superb just a 10-minute walk from oxford street & a 5-minute walk from marylebone street with its trendy cafes & boutiques. Staff was friendly & the room was very clean. General condition of hotel is good, though a bit over rated. The drainage in the room in both the bathtub & the sink was very bad. Also in the room the bed was located under the window & the window shook very badly - had to stuff paper into it at night to be able to sleep. Front desk said would send maintenance to fix but didn't happen during my stay which was only 5 nights.

I found the location of the hotel to be excellent, about a five minute walk from Baker St underground station, which is connected the the circle line, making transport throughout the city effortless. The hotel also has a feeling of class and luxury about it. The hotel decor is modern with contemporary touches and finishes throughout. Staff were pleasant throughout and service was friendly. We stayed in spring time, late March. So temperatures were not winter temperatures, although the heating system in the room was still set for winter. It stated that during winter it only produced warm air, during summer cold air. Ours seemed to have a mind of its own and despite being turned off would come on by its self during the night making the room unbearably warm. Then despite being the weekend we were woken by the noise of other guest's doors banging on each morning from around 7am onwards, meaning that we got very little sleep during our stay and looked forward to getting home for a rest. Another slight negative and just a personnal dislike would have to be the glass sliding door of the ensuite bathroom. It provides much too little privacy for my liking, there might as well not have been a door there at all. Finally the consierge could have been a little more helpful, fine on arrival however stood and watched us struggle out through the doors with our luggage on our departure.

The hotel is in a great location and very close to a tube station. We asked for a quiet room and were plesantly surprised that the room on the first floor was quiet, given that it had wooden floors. Staff were very accomodating. The frosted glass on the bathroom door is a bit off putting, and there should be a hook or two to hang robes and towels when in the shower. It also really needs an extractor fan. The window in our room was broken so we couldnt close it properly at night and I would suggest that house keeping leave bottles of water each day, not just on the day you check in.

The Sherlock Holmes is a stylish hotel with good location for most purposes. The breakfast was ample and the staff especially friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 403 and there was a persistent draught from the window - the bed was placed such that we slept with our heads by the window and we had to stuff the extra pillows behind the curtain to keep the draught away.

The staff were brilliant, and as we were travelling with our young baby had the room ready for us to check in at 10am which was a welcome surprise. The room was lovely, the bed very comfortable and the food in the restaurant was beautiful. All of the staff made a fuss of our little one too and we felt very special. We think this hotel is a bit of a find, and will definitely stay there again. Just a 5 minute walk to Marylebone station. If anything the room was a little warm.

I stayed at this hotel as I was going to Wembley Stadium to see Take That. The location was perfect. As a single traveller, I felt very safe and comfortable at this hotel. There is a good range of cafe's, bars and restaurants in walking distance from the hotel. Oxford Street shops are a 10 minutes walk away. I would stay there again.

Restaurant facilities & bar. Location and interior Considering we had an executive room booked it was rather spartanic. Sure there were some coffee and tea making facilities, but not exactly the deisred Nespresso machine. Also noticable was the fact that even though we booked for a couple there was only one dressing gown and pair of slippers. The next morning breakfast came to the room and despite written notice and long discussion with receptionist, we only got one meal and coffee and after asking 3 times the rest was brough up bit by bit. Very disappointing considering they new we didn't have much time in the morning. Staff was quite short with us and not very competent.

In a good central position with a car park across the road from the back entrance. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and well organised. Very quiet considering the hotel is in the centre of London. Bed was extremely comfortable and bathroom and bedroom were both spotlessly clean. Used room service in the evning - promptly delivered and an excellent steak baguette. Plenty of choices at the continental breakfast next morning. Thought the wooden bedroom floors would be a problem but never heard anything from room above. Hotel and rooms were far too hot. Had to open bedroom window to cool room down. Sliding semi-opaque glass seperating bathroom from bedroom. Not much privacy for people who did not know each other well.

This cosy, stylish, traditional London hotel. Perfectly placed. And this is crucial. Not only Merylebone is a distinctive London district but you have walking distance to: Regent, Oxford, Piccadily, West End, etc. Surprisingly the have big room as far as London style is concerned - you know what I mean - try to find truely big room in london and I bet it is hard job. They got them. Surely it is not a standard room but still this is distinctive for this hotel. And again as far as London is concerned they got propper pricing policy. I would rate them somehow between 4 - 5 stars and eventhough you will not spend there a big sack of money or at least if you don't want to. If you don't like noisy bar open till late located at the front of hotel even before you get to reception open to the public this is gonna be a problem. At firsst it was kinda shocking but still pros are stronger than this con. And if you travel with a child and have a trolley with you then you have take into consideration that before you enter you have to grab the trolley and push it over the steps at the door.

I don't think it was worth £182 for the night and no breakfast included in the cost! We had to change rooms as our first room smelled of fish! However the staff were accommodating and we moved rooms very quickly. I have stayed at Park Plaza County Hall last year so reccommended Sherlock Holmes to our friends and they were very dissapointed by saying it wasn't worth the money. So it dampened our weekend a little as I organised this trip! And felt as if I had let them down.

The Baker St. Location was great. There were a lot of good restaurants and shops within short walking distance. The Underground station was 2 minutes away and the bus stopped right outside the hotel door. The rooms we booked were of a good size and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The dining room staff was especially nice. While the location was great it was loud. There was a steady stream of service and delivery trucks to the local shops and restaurants all night long. The poor condition of the windows in our rooms did not help with the noise at all.I Think off street rooms would be better. The hotel also seems to be host to lots of weddings and christmas parties. These crowded the lobby and got quite boisterous at times. The free in room wifi was very spotty depending on your room location.

You walk into what looks like a classy restaurant/bar, so it doesn't have that Hotel feel - that is what makes it feel really comfortable. It's buzzy and we had lunch in the restaurant, the food was divine. Bedrooms are modern yet again homely. Room was too hot and a bit stuffy.
