We had a lovely room and the staff were very friendly and obliging. A beautiful setting, right by the Thames. I suppose the interior could do with some renovation, which I understand is being done in the New Year. We shall be back to see the results.

I stayed in premier twin and the room was so big and clean. Hotel staffs were so freindly and helpful. The facilities are not so new, but I can recommend to others. Shower gel in bath room was almost used up and empty. I recommend to the hotel to fill the soaps each time having new guests.

The site was second to none, exceptional view of the river from our room Poor preparation of room, bed hard and uncomfortable.Poor evening meal, tasteless sauces, main and dessert, service slow. Disapppointing considering the hotel's potential.

The hotel is set in a beautiful location and has the advantage of an outdoor heated pool - weather permitting. If you enjoy being near a river this is the place for you as the Thames dominates the vista. We were upgraded to one of the outside 'bungalows' and the room was individual and extremely pleasant. There are several lovely walks along the river and through the countryside which are a delight. It was a pity that the floor in the lovely spacious bathroom was horribly dirty. The floor had been mopped but this was ingrained dirt which caused the white lino to appear grey. I cleaned a small area near the sink and could not believe the floor had been allowed to become this dirty! It needs a good scrub!! The self-service breakfast was mediocre particularly the tea and coffee though the view from the dining area was gorgeous.

Staff and service excellent.Peaceful and beautiful views.Excellent food. Piped 60s music in dining room and terrace. Either no music please (preferred outside) or more than one looped CD!

The setting was perfect, and the whole feeling of the hotel was friendly and courteous. Staff at breakfast excellent even though I often arrived before they were due to open.

We have stayed at the Shillingford Bridge hotel many times as it is near family. The views from the hotel are lovely the staff friendly. There are some great walks from the hotel following the Thames river winter or summer a lovely place to stay. In the all the times I have stayed at the hotel not once has the swimming pool been in use so why advertise it as having a outside pool? It is a bit old fashion and I do not like that you could get a room were dogs have been staying and I have dogs and know what dogs can do.

Lovely location , plenty of areas to visit nearby , eg Henley , food good . Room very tired , dated and grubby . Breakfast staff unhelpful and eager to clear away on the dot of 0930 . This was our fifth visit over 15 years and possibly our last as standards have dropped considerably

Location was good for Wallingford. Beds are comfortable, this is the 5th time I have sayed here in the last year or so. Good selection of reasonably priced wine. Restaurant not open, only bar snacks. Food is poor and not as advertised in the menu.

Comfortble room overlooking the River Thames. Not exactly a negative comment but in the hotel car park there is a sign saying "Don't unload your car untill you have checked in". The hotel has more than one entrance and if you ignore that warning (as I did) you might have to carry your case from door to door.

The food lets the hotel down. The breakfast menu offers kippers and smoked haddock which were both 'not served anymore'. The restaurant offered 'served on a bed of crushed new potatoes' which, on delivery were not crushed; small detail but why offer things that are not delivered. The creme brule was simply a serving of ready made custard, hence sloppy, with a crust of sugar which had been blasted with a blowtorch.

Love the Thames side setting. Lawn sweeping down to the river. Rooms were nicely decorated and had appropriate amenities. Just outside Wallingford- it's also a short (30 min) drive to Oxford city center.

The hotel is comfortable and in a beautiful location beside the River Thames.Ideal for walks but also very near to Oxford and other locations. The staff are friendly and our room clean and comfortable We have stayed twice at this hotel but several years ago before the present refurbishment. We did notice a change in the food quality-more pub restarant rather than hotel restaurant style although we enjoyed our meals and they were reasonably priced. Beakfast was disappointing-the english breakfast very small compared to similarly priced hotels we have stayed in recently.Other guests did comment. Also no pot of hot tea/coffee was served at the table at breakfast-we have never encountered this in any hotel we have stayed in and it seemed to us rather mean spirited.Other guests also commented that the ready made coffee in flasks was tepid as was the hot water for tea.

The staff were very friendly, efficient, and professional. The room was great and the prices for food in the dining room were reasonable, given the standard of the hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast which was served quickly and cooked very well. I look forward to my next stay. Definitely the best hotel I have stayed at in South Oxfordshire so far. The shower wasn't the best I've used and I think that WiFi should be provided free to hotel guests. Other than that, no complaints whatsoever.

Staff were very friendly and tried their best. Restaurant in eve - very good food. Manager understanding and sympathetic to our experiences. We understand the hotel is in new hands and will undergo a much needed refurbishment, I'm sure it will be a great place. Very shabby rooms - 2 of our bathrooms were poorly cleaned. The tea/coffee facility at b/f The tv problem! Staff lovely but none seemed to know much about the area or were able to advise on things to do. Booked wake up calls didn't materialise. These are meant to be constructive criticisms as we enjoyed our stay.
