The room was quiet pleasant bed was comfy, breakfast was very good and room where we ate breakfast was very nice, plenty of parking space and a friendly bar with good local beer.

unfortunately the cleanliness of this hotel let it down badly the bathroom was not pleasant and had it not been bank holiday weekend we would not have stayed the cleaner here has no idea how to clean a bathroom it was very bad and in general the place could do with a deep clean and a lick of paint such a shame as this could be a lovely place.

No hassle and friendly.

On arrival, we found corridors dark,Apparently fuses for some lights were blown. Room was very cold. Radiators not working.. A halogen heater was brought in. But we were scared to keep the heater on during the night.So rather cold night.

Cleanliness to the bathroom was very poor.

We wanted a quiet weekend break to relax & refresh and we got exactly what we wished for. It is a lovely place, very friendly and helpful staff, nice room, with comfotable beds, everything tidy and clean Location, food, services, all the things were just fabulous!!!Excellent cooked breakfast. I would recommend the hotel to anyone and would stay there again in the future.

Good breakfast. Easy to find

Room was pocket sized, very poorly maintained (bathroom fittings falling off, torn curtains) and not properly cleaned or serviced. (A used shower cap in the bedroom and dust everywhere).

although we requested a quiet room, we were given a room over the bar and on the main road. We had banging doors, the people in the pub moved outside when the pub shut and were noisy outside, We had noisy neighbours who didn't quieten down until around 3am. The breakfast was very greasy and the jugs holding milk and juices were not very clean.

Large comfortable room, good food for dinner, good service, good large breakfast. Friendly staff. Handy for the M3. Reasonably priced.

A bit of local passing traffic noise

Staff were consistently excellent, putting themselves out for us. Very friendly, with good team led by Manager Patricia.

The decor in the older part of the hotel was very 'tired'. Food not very inspiring for evening meals. Seemed a bit bland and out the freezer? (but breakfast very good and freshly cooked incl veg option).

Clean and local Staff friendly

The room was fairly small but ok for one night stay. We also found the bed and pillows to soft and locally loud music was playing until fairly late at night

The whole experience was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful, made us feel welcome We have friends that have a business near by and have stayed at the ship &bell before, and will defineatly stay there again when we visit them.

I enjoyed staying at Ship&Bell very much - the room was cosy, but clean and comfortable. Cleaner came every day to tidy it(I stayed for 3 days), and that doesn't sometimes happen even in the nicest of hotels. The pub/inn food was amazing - had dinner there one night - almost swallowed the fork! Yumm! Staff is very friendly and even offers you fruit on your arrival and departure as part of your 5 a day! Breakfast options immense and very tasty - would definitely stay again!

Not suitable for the disabled, 3 flights of stairs. Central heating ineffective. Breakfast too rushed, all courses at once.

The staff were very friendly and courteous. They couldn't do enough for you.

I asked for ground floor room as my friend finds it very hard to club stairs, this could not be accommodated. Oh yeh - and the net curtain in the room was torn and looked like it could do with a wash. But overall, the room was lovely and clean.
