The purpose of our visit was to attend Sandown races in the afternoon. There was a wedding at the hotel so the bar area was not available to us during the evening until late so we had to go somewhere else, but it did not spoil our stay.

Location was ok because it was close to where I needed to be the following day. Check process was unfriendly. Showere didn't work. Room change took nearly an hour. Wash basin in bathroom was tiny. Very small room.

Harrisons Hotel was gorgeous inside and out. It is a small hotel, but that was perfect as it felt a lot more intimit especially for me and my partner. It felt as though you were priority in the staffs eyes..They made everything perfect for us. It was only 5 miles from Thorpe park and 9 miles ferom chessington world ofadventure. I would definately stay again.. It was perfect. Even though our room was lovely we had a corner room with no view which spoilt it a bit for the money that was payed. That was the only bad thing. Everything in the room itself was spot on....

Friendly staff, comfortable room, good breakfast. Not a big issue, but their bistro menu was not advertised outside the dining room.

The staff were very informative, friendly and welcoming. The hotel was cosy not like the big chain hotels. It was more personal. Near the village, shops, pubs, nice walks along the side of the Thames. Its on a busy main road.

Staff were excellent, smiling, helpful, well trained. Food was very good. The hotel was modern, clean and well fitted out. No lift and no offer of porterage, so if you have a bad knee it was a bit difficult getting luggage upstairs. Bathroom was ridiculously small - even a midget would have had a problem. To dry yourself, you have to put a towel down on the bedroom carpet and do it there. There is not room in the bathroom, to bend over. Big birthday party allowed to monopolise the bar area on Saturday night, so went out for a meal instead, as staying guests suddenly became unimportant.

When I arrived, the chap on reception was very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is small and comfortable and so was my room. I feel that this hotel misses out the little touches that make a stay just that little bit easier; for example when I arrived at 8.50 having travelled a long way after a day's work, there was no food service at all! The chap on reception was very polite and told me there were plenty of places around. That isn't strictly true, as they all involve a considerable walk and are crowded at weekends. There was no cosy bedside light and the hotel guide had obviously been thumbed through many times as it was all dog eared and tatty. I was attending a course and had no table to work at. The photo on their website has obviously been manipulated as the hotel is actually on a busy road. The boats you see in front of the hotel are actually moored on the other side of that busy road. Having said this, it was adequate as I was hardly there. However I have stayed in far better placeswith much more atmosphere for a similar price. I would not stay here again.

I have used Harrisons on many occasions as its location is convenient. Not quite as good as on previous visits - the staff were not as friendly as normal. On the second morning there was no fruit/grapefruit and when I asked as I was told 'we have run out' (it was only 7.45am). There was no apology and I was surprised at running out of an item like tinned grapefruit! For the last morning there was fruit but still no grapefruit. The room was also noisy - not from traffic or bar noise but from pigeons outside the bedroom window all night. I will probably give this hotel another chance but I will request a room away from the pigeons!

The staff were friendly and the decor was fairly modern. The room was very small. We were only there for 1 night and are not big people but it was difficult to get round the room as the bed took up most of the space. It had the smallest bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel with an odd door arrangement that was difficult to operate. We stayed on a Saturday night and there was a party in the hotel so it was hard to get to sleep until it finished. It would have been courteous of the hotel to advise us about the fact there was a party that night.
