On booking this hotel on a last minute rate, I was expecting a small hotel/bed breakfast type place. Upon going up the drive, I realised it was quite a size historical type of hotel, I checked min with ease and was directed to my bedroom, (thru a door hidden in a wall, really interesting), to a most comfortable and clean single bedroom, everything anyone would have needed was in there, despite the price I had paid.
Wandering around The hotel is quite old fashioned, but rather beautiful, in its own way, there seems to be a large chapel to the side, which in itself had historical connotations.
I found it belonged, the hotel that is, to a Christian group of hotels, not being too religous myself, I was not bothered about it, but found the guests and the staff, to be very very friendly, nothing was to much trouble.
There is even a large indoor swimming pool, reached thru some beautiful gardens where in spring/summer you could sit and relax.
To sum up, this was an experience I was glad to make, and will certainly visit again as soon as able.
I would reccommend to most people, with no second thoughts whatsoever
The sign to the hotel off the main road, could be better, firstly I pulled into a dentists car park, thinking it was the hotel.. That is until I got out the car and realised my silly mistake.
My fault really, and my excuse is I had been driving most of the day, so I must have been a little tired!!
