Sidney Hotel London-Victoria  

The location is very convenient for access to rail transport. The staff were charming and efficient and we loved the multi-cultural crowd down in the breakfast room. There are some outstanding - and affordable - places to eat nearby and we considered the Sidney to be great value. No frills, but we don't want those, just somewhere clean and comfortable as a base. We would certainly book again next time we are in the uk.

Our bedroom was at the back, faced west and was very hot. The airconditioning didn't appear to be able to cope with the unusually high temperatures in London at that time in late September 2011.

Clean and central.

The only negative comment about the Sidney was the bathroom door, which only had mildly frosted glass!

it was the perfect location for my business trip. room was clean. Nice new bathroom, new shower unit. friendly staff. Good breakfast but it does get busy and you may need to queue, but the staff get you seated as quick as they can.

Room was very small, ok for one person but would have been very, very crampt with two in there. Small, busy breakfast rooms, but efficient staff work hard to accommodate you.

Excellent price comfortable room and good brekfast

We experienced a fire in the hotel and spent over an hour outside the hotel until after midnight. No apology was given or offered. When the fire department left we were told we could return to our smoke smelly rooms, to open our window and turn on the fan and all would be okay by the staff. The hotel still had a strong smell of smoke the next day. I asked for the name of the hotel's insurance company and was refused that request by the manager. I have breathing problems and feel they were agravaited by this incident. No expanation was given for the fire to anyone, this is a supposed non smoking hotel.

everything was relatively fine rooms a little small also walls a bit thin we could over hear conversations, mobile phones ringing and someone knocking on doors

Nice location near subway, only a few minutes walk from Pimlico subway station. We came from Gatwick airport and took the train to Victoria Station. From there is was just about a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Ok english breakfast. Comfortable beds, some noise from the road outside.

The fact that there was no evening meal service

Location in Pimlico is perfect for access to all the tourist spots. The room was small but comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and well cooked. Staff were pleasant and helpful. For a budget hotel the Sidney is very good, and I would consider staying again on our next visit to London.

We found the room quite stuffy and would have liked to be able to open the window.

Good value for money because of the location and cleanliness of the room. The only caveat is that the room and the toilet were slightly too small but again, I think its reasonable in London.

Arrangement for breakfast high volume time queuing far too long so we could not have breakfast in order to make our appt. Perhaps option of breakfast in room or extend facility to bar area for peak time .

When we arrived we were greated by desk staff who guided us through the checkin in proceedure very well and with a sense of humour we had had a very stressful trip to London that day due to late flights and diverted airports so we did not arrive untill 5 o clock and the desk staff seem to take all that stress away and made us feel very welcome, we had a great time at a London show and when we got back to the hotel in the evening the bar staff were interested in our show and made us feel important, the next morning having never been before the breakfast staff made it very easy for us to find our way to and around the breakfast room, you have a staff to be proud of and when we told our friends back home two couples choose to book the Sidney Hotel for their short break to London in the summer time WELL DONE!!
