This is a comfortable relaxing hotel in a rural location, only 10mins drive from the seaside. The swimming pool at the hotel is really nice, they have a tennis court too and the rooms are good sizes. Car parking is very good. Overall it was a very relaxing stay. Expensive place to stay, partly because there is no breakfast included. For breakfast their price is £10.50pp, for dinner their price is £32pp. There is nowhere else to eat anywhere nearby, so we ended up driving for miles. Also extremely difficult to find with the sat nav. |

The location is idyllic. Very peaceful and restful location. The heated outdoor pool overlooked the Sid Valley - a real treat. The accommodation was excellent: spotlessly clean and comfortable. I would definitely return there, and stay longer! The one way road to get to the hotel was a little daunting, but never proved to be a problem. We self catered, which was just as well as the meal prices in the hotel were high. |

Traditional yet totally up to date! So close to sea and coastal walks also Exeter for shopping brilliant. The tennis court was great, the outdoor pool was hot. We had a bar snack instead of full meal as we’d had lunch out but the dinner looked like a missed opportunity, defiantly next time! Breakfast great value - proper full English! |

On arrival, a lovely feeling of space and silence. Peaceful and informal inside. Good attention to detail E.G. choice of duvets or sheets/blankets. |

Twin bed room was strangely decorated a real mish-mash of colours and fabrics not very 'pretty'.Seemed old fashioned a tired. Hotel more like a big guest house than proper hotel! Yes food was very expensive £32 per person for evening meal - we went to nearby pub. Room was expensive too as breakfast not included, that was an extra £10.50 per person, all in all a disappointing experience for me and my god daughter before we visited the donkey sanctuary. |

For £130 per night for a room I think breakfast should have been included.£10.50 For continental breakfast per person - no reduction for children I think is too expensive especially since the choice was poor. |

Lovely situation. Friendly, helpful( our bags were carried to and from the car for us) but unobtrusive staff. They catered for my young son by making smaller portions for evening meal. The continental breakfast was superb. A lovely selection of fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurts etc. All the main meals were home cooked and delicious. Fantastic home made bread. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated It would have been nice to have the option for lighter meals in the evening and light lunches but really over all there was little to fault. An extremely enjoyable stay and will hopefully be returning in the future. |

Superb views, delicious breakfast (selection of fresh fruit on buffet was outstanding). I felt the room rate (£85 a night) which excluded breakfast was on the expensive side. |

This was the second time staying at this hotel. The owners are friendly and courteous and the facilities are what you would expect of a hotel with a much higher star rating. We stayed in a self catering room on this occasion and found it to have everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The hotel also now has a tennis court which we made use of on three evenings. Very Highly Recommended. |

Very comfortable room and excellent food The bath could have benefited from a non-slip surface, particularly for older people taking a shower |
