So very helpfull night staff .all good whith this hotel .5star
24 hour check in - we arrived very late Lovely surroundings Basic but clean room Close to where we needed to be (family funeral)
Could have done with an extra blanket in the room - the first night was cold (August). Found it difficult to sleep the first night.
Free wifi was great, close to local amenities (ie supermarket/eateries).
Poor room cleanliness, size of room, price paid for disappointing room, lack of breakfast, thin walls general shabby decor in room
Nice bar, friendly receptionist
Room was small and tired, bed felt damp, shower broken. Breakfast was \'a312.50 and was inedible
The location for this hotel is amazing, it was booked for a friends Wedding, and i can see why they chose the venue.
Where do i start? The rooms are very dated, almost like halls of residence in size, with NO soundproofing between rooms! We had a couple below us who left their TV on full blast and we had to ring reception to sort . . . 3x (they were excellent in responding) we didn't get to sleep until approx 3 AM. temperature in rooms on a lovely hot sunny day was overwhelming. . but at £80 a night it wasn't even up to a normally chain hotel. We did receive apologies and a partial refund, but not until we'd cooled off a bit and sent a measured email.
no one on reception on late arrival, complex is a bit spread out, long walk to my room late at night
Rooms were nicely decorated and well equipped. Reasonable hotel overall
Rooms are in separate "dormitory" style blocks and totally out of keeping with the lovely main buildings. Don't expect to stay in a country house in the pictures as there are no rooms in the main building.
It reminded me of a 1950 college or high school dormitory. I liked it.
Do not arrive late at night. You will get the wrong impression.
Hotel rooms are quiet, clean and confortable. Staff are, generally, friendly and helpful, but there is always the odd one!
Wife connection signal not strong in certain rooms and Reception did not seem to want to assist in getting connected when the signal was O.K. All I hot was jargon about mobile phones which did not apply to a lap top. Unlucky for me, I use a laptop and was unable to connect. I did not persivere with Reception - I got the impression of "Love to help, but my hand are tied". In other words, the girl I spoke to was not interested in my problem. There are no common relaxation area except for the somewhat characterless bar. And breakfast at £12 is over the top. It's £4 at a couple of venues nearby. It would be an idea to have a B&B rate rather than aiming to be the cheapest room rate in the area. rate. The rooms are worth every penny of the low room only charge - put a few quid on top for Brekkies so you can actually know how many will attend Breakfast. On the present system, food must go to waste. Lecture over.
Room 103. Cups not clean, door handle was loose. Wi-fi didn't work. Tv didn't work. The table in the room was to big. Light shade near bed were broken. Stuff unhelpful!
The hotel common areas, food
The room was very small, Bathroom very small, not as shown on website
Location and grounds were excellent and well maintained.
Poor breakfast for the non full English breakfast. TV in the bar needs upgrading. Looked like it was raining.
the room was fantastic
Double bed good nice and firm
Room needed finishing touches . Bathroom plinths not fitted shower attachment fell off while showering
You give the wrong impression when staying at Dunchurch on your web site with the photo of the grand hotel which we thought we were having a room there but get a room round the back which look like council flats not very impressed sorry.
The grounds, reception and the bar
The bedroom looked like a dorm room. It was tiny with no wardrobe or space to hang long items of clothing. The room looked dirty and was in need of a refurb. Not the luxary type of room you would think you would stay in from looking at the pictures of the net.
They had no record of the online booking. Wifi not working in bedroom (reported but not fixed) - had to move into hallway to connect.
Absolutely filthy. Mould all over curtains and windowsill. No wifi available as promised. TV remote not working. Breakfast served cold and then again uncooked! Electrical fault on kettle. No hairdryer as promised. Cobwebs on ceiling. Dirty shower screen.
Nice grounds and setting- rooms large enough and good value.
Choice of breakfast was poor.
Only stayed one night and did not make full use of facilities so cannot really comment on that.
Breakfast - the bacon appeared to be cheap cuts with high water content which resulted in the bacon not looking appetising. Also the sausages were cheap and nasty with very little meat content and no flavour whatsoever, Otherwise no compalints.
clean comfortable beds, late booking at 19.15 and 20.30 arrival was no problem, good food in restaurant
we breakfasted late each morning and the food was a little 'old' in the warmers. Cereal and toast a good alternative.
