The staff are friendly, and it's a quiet place
It's really far from London and this part of Hackney sometimes looks a little bit dangerous specially during the night. The common bathroom was clean but in very bad shape, you can see big undefined fungus black steins in the shower. If you have the bad luck of fall in the first floor your views will consist in three big garbage containers in front your window.
-Kiosk in der Nähe / small shop nearby -Gegend besser als auf London- homepage beschrieben / better area than described on London homepage -recht gute Verkehrsanbindung / 5 min walk to Overground, 20 min by Overground and Tube to the city
-Verdreckete Fußböden / dirty floor -Schimmel im Zimmer U. Bad / mildew -zusätzliche Kreditkartengebühr / fee for using credit or debit card (10%) -Bezahlung bei Ankunft / paying when check-in -zu wenig Bäder U. wc pro Etage/ not enough bathrooms and toilets -2 Tage kein warmes Wasser /2 days no warm water -schlechtestes Frühstück / minimalized breakfast (gbp 2,50) - keine Toilettenartikel / no soap, no shampoo -zu wenige Handtücher / more towels only on demand
Warm, clean bed.
Bathroom out of service for one night on my floor. Not great when there is no onsuite. Heating out of service for one night. Coldish room and cold shower on wake up. Not fixed till about 12.00 midnight that day. No apologies or explanations.
Not Bad Location
Lack Of Facilities in room Expensive for what you get Been in better and cheaper hotels
everything else apart from price was bad... the only good member of staff were in the morning when we were leaving. the other staff wasn't very happy/helpful/nice.
Location's quite good. Only around 5 mins walk to Homerton Overground Station and around 15 mins walk to Burberry Factory Shop. Staff were nice. Extremely valuable.
Charges more for card. Bathroom condition was poor. The area around the hotel was rather noisy and dirty.
At £40 per night, the price is very good for London. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, staff were friendly.
Only one towel was supplied between two people - no toiletries were provided with the room and some of the rooms don't have sinks either.
Location was handy being a short walk from the overground. We walked to Hackney Empire which was about 20 minutes.
Being asked for photo ID when we booked in and told if we wanted to pay by either debit or credit card there would be a 5% surcharge. The room was a good size as was the bathroom but everything was very tatty and tired. The bedding was not clean and there was only a very thin sheet on the bed and no mattress cover. The lock on the door was not very secure. I think it is a great shame that such a lovely building has been neglected. With some care and attention this could be a very good basic hotel in a location which seems to be lacking in hotels.
The oldest and least upgraded hotel I've ever stayed in. Toilets and showers in poor condition. Room night lamp and TV did not work. And it's over £60/night??? No chance!!!
The massive bedroom with 3 beds when there were only 2 of us!
The shared bathroom.
I was charged 5% extra for paying with debit card. Internet was not free either; it comes at additional cost
Price -recently I stayed in Holiday Inn for £65 per night including breakfast. Considering that by paying £60 per night was toooo much without breakfast
no hassles from anyone, easy to reach,2 minute walk from station, friendly welcome, room clean and spacious
nothing at all - it is as it says it is
Valu for money & location is excellent
The bed was fairly comfortable. Near to Homerton station.
The photos on booking.com are very misleading-do not expect flowers, drinks or toiletries on your room. The whole building needs redecorating-peeling and dated wallpaper, thinning carpets and bathrooms from the 70s. Pillows are paper thin, I asked at reception and was begrudgingly given 1 extra (thin) pillow. No paper towels or hand dryer in bathrooms. They will try to charge you 5% extra to pay on card, which isn't mentioned when booking. I only paid £40 for a double as booked last minute, I have no idea how they can justify charging £80-£100 full price. Avoid at all costs, this place should not be listed as a hotel.
I needed somewhere between Central London and Hackney and this was ideal and right on the best bus route in London (38) as well as close to overground and tube. really good bars and restaurants around as well as good shopping (broadway market in Hackney, best lingerie shop in London on Cross Street - Tallulah)
Room was small but fine, bathroom needed a bit of touching up and I did have to buy a hairdryer
Very dirty showers and so noisy and far !
-Rooms are good sized. -Own sink. -Location is good for this amount of money, overground station and 24h shop nearby. -Hygiene of (bad)room was good.
-Badrooms haven't got any propper maintenance for a couple of years, examples: plunger stands next to the sink and kinked showerhose ensures that the showerhead doesn't stand up right. -No fresh towels (received after second requist). -Notice staff never heard of customer service or friendliness. -Poor English. -Getting the feeling they are only in for the money without investing time, money or energy.
The room is good and facilities are fine.
The price is too high in my opinion.
Not a lot to like.
Price was deceiving. Extra for breakfast.charged extra £15 for checking in early even though room was ready. Sur charge on credit card. £5 for wi fi. Carpet in room was dirty and threadbare. We were there for 5 days and our towels were never changed. Had to put rubbish out ourselves. The bedding was disgusting a dirty grey colour. Pillows were so thin and without a casing. Bathroom was dirty and had only one dim light over basin bulb was never replaced. Shower curtain was filthy. We shared the bathroom with about 3 other rooms not always convenient. Kitchen upstairs was left dirty a lot the time. We supplied our own tea bags and milk,. A bad experience. We shifted to another place after 5 days.
The location and some of their staff.
The room, when you open the windows I just can see the bins.
Location to victoria park
Bathroom was dirty and dated
Great value for money, staff were so kind and helpful I have no complaints. Would definatley recommend it :)
