If you want a warm welcome and a charmingly decorated room with good wifi and a flat screen tv then I would recommend Silverdale. Add in free parking too.

There were many things I liked about this hotel - the Victorian building itself with its wide staircase - the period furniture and ornaments chosen - my room, which was spacious, light, warm and very clean - cosy functioning en suite shower room - good internet speed . There is no breakfast room and no breakfast. My fault entirely that I didn't notice when I booked. You can have a breakfast bag left outside your room but I did not like the contents. You can see for yourself on the website what's inside - you might be ok with it. There is nowhere within walking distance to buy breakfast in this residential area. To be honest I would never have booked had I realised this lack. Now that I have been there and I liked the place I would go back if I had a car. Just be warned - only go if breakfast is not important to you. I rated services as poor because of lack of breakfast as explained but also because there is no sitting room, and because I never saw the owner again after she let me in ( which she did very nicely).

The Silverdale had a vintage feel about it & was full of character. I loved the sweeping wooden banister & the furniture in the hallway. The rooms were a good size. The room had good tea & coffee facilities. Jackie the owner made us very welcome & was friendly. It was set in a good location in Dudley. I would go back & stay again. The bathroom in the single room was very small & I felt a bit closed in.

Very friendly staff and large comfy rooms tastefully decorated in an older style with beautiful wooden furniture. Recommended. Our only slight complaint was that our room was at the front and the hotel was on a very busy road so there was some traffic noise.

The room was lovely and light with a bargain of a light breakfast, Jackie was a lovely lady and made us feel at home immediately from the start! The bed was lovely to sleep in and made you really not want to get out of bed! We would stay again! The only down side was that our room faced directly onto a main road, and you could hear the crossing beep as people crossed the road.

I also have requested a reciept -which the owner said she would send after ringing me for address details-still no call 3 days later !
