Hotel was very close to pleasure beach station, extremely convenient. Also despite a short walk from the front and also near the back of the pleasure beach (full of the big one) very quiet. While it's located past the pleasure beach at one end of the front, I think it's in a great position for you to go out and visit and not be right in the middle of everything and everyone else.
Lights in the room, we had a family room, with young children, our room had a main light, or a secondary located right over the top of the bunk beds, so for during the night it was full light IN the room, or eldest child had light in her face all night. A minor issue though.
Close to the pleasure heach and breakfast was good for the money.
No midweek entertainment and drinks in hotel bar were quite expensive.
Beds comfortable breakfast was very good
Good location for pleasure beach, breakfast excellent, staff very nice and was absolutely clean.
Bar shut early, no evening entertainment and decor could do with an update.
Location for the Pleasure Beach. The food at breakfast was excellent.
Having to have breakfast between 9a.m and 9.30a.m then checkout by 10a.m. means you have to rush so if you want breakfast there is no flexibility if you want to get up and about early or get up a bit later. Also it was a bit like a rugby scrum with all guests having to be in at the same time. You could only have 1 of everything for breakfast but you were able to queue again for a"second helping" .I would rather get all I want without having to queue twice. It seems like breakfast is run for the convenience of the owner rather than the paying customer. The bar closed at 10p.m.Shower wasn't very good.
the hotel was very close to pleasure beach.
Beds were very springy! Couldn't sit straight on the toilet as was so close the the wall bedroom for 2 only big enough for one. We lifted the duvet and found a penny under it which proves it hadn't been changed from the last person.
Location handy for pleasure beach and away from noise
Rooms very tired. We were really cold on our first night. Breakfast 9 till 9.30 only. While owners friendly, not impressed we had arranged that we would have a gathering at hotel bar on evening after a meal out to celebrate a big birthday, we got back to find bar closed up. Hotel not only missed out on our business but we had arranged we would end the day with celebration family and friends at the hotel. We chose a family run hotel and restaurant because we like to support, in this instance we should have chosen a Travelodge or Premier Inn.
Heating not working in our room so had to put oil filled radiator in
Location, breakfast was nice, Tv in room modern and bathroom very clean.
Shower was useless, no power and didn't get hot, blackout curtains or blinds are needed
Modest bedroom/ensuite A clean and fairly new Kettle good size mugs and clean
The Towels provided could have been larger
Location, Parking and price.
Shower not the best, not much you can do when already in it and only staying for one night. We told the staff and he said it will be sorted and thanked us for letting him know.
The fact that we arrived after a 4 hour drive in the evening, all we wanted to do was to have a shower and go out for a lovely meal but there was no hot water. The owners wife didnt even speak english so didnt know what we were talking about when we said why isnt the water hot. We finally got through to the owner who said oops i havent turned the boiler on, please wait about an hour for it to heat up. Waited an hour and it was still freezing cold so decided to go out for a meal without having a shower which made us really disappointed as to why we chose this as our hotel seeing as though there were so many other nice ones to choose from. Our room was disgusting, small and dirty with old facilities, we felt like we were living in the 1960's. We found old crisp packets and bottles in the wardrobe, cobwebs all around the tiny bathroom and hairs everywhere. It was clear this room hadnt been cleaned. We complained about it as we were staying for 3 nights but all the owner said was 'ok to compensate you you can have free breakfast on saturday morning only'. Im sorry.. What?? Free breakfast?? I thought i booked a room for 3 nights in a b&b already?? Apparently breakfast isnt included even though when you go to book it tells you that it is. Wasnt happy with this stay at all and wouldnt recommend it to ANYONE.
The owners couldn't do enough for you :)
A little exspensive but had the rooms we needed
The location was fantastic, walking distance from the Train Station and to the Pleasure Beach etc. The cooked breakfast was nice enough but there could have been than two cereals to chose from.
There was a charge for the stay being over £100! The walls were paper thin, so sleeping was impossible (use your imagination). No wall light / lamp in the room, the main light was too bright for trying to unwind after a busy day. No atmosphere at night in the lounge and the bar closed quite early.
clean room , exellent host and fad breakfast
telly blaring all thru the nite really annoying , people should be more considerate when there are other quests
Reception and bar closing at 10
Location was great
you were only allowed one of each item at breakfast with meant you had to keep get,ing up for more if you wanted my husband likes a good breakfast and had to wait for food to be cooked also you only had half hour to eat your breakfast 9am to 930am so was a bit of a rush to eat and check out also the bar closed at 10pm so you couldnt sit and have a drink for long when you got back we went to see the lights and didnt get back till 9 45pm so had to have a quick drink and then bed when all you could hear was all the outher bars open this hotel clams to be for family,s but the children were told not to run around you cant expect kids to sit down when there excited so if you dont like a drink and like being rushed about at breakfast this is the hotel for you
Small room but very clean and comfortable. Not brilliant but for the price not expected. Breakfast was a full English breakfast and you were invited to come back for seconds which is great considering it's included in the price of the hotel. Will definitely go back.
They helped to keep my luggage after checkout
Very small room and checkin time was very late.
Room was very small for a triple room and you could only just fit in the bathroom was so small
No bar , no breakfast all lights off and felt deserted. All hotels opposite looked inviting.
Short walk to front and trams
Steep staircase and very dated rooms, reception area fine , staff polite and helpful
Excellent parking, next door to the pleasure beach.
No lifts, husband was to tall for the shower he's 6ft 1.
Staff very friendly and helpful at all times. Excellent breakfast every morning, food was really nice. If you are looking for the ritz this may not be the place for you, but if you want nice and helpful staff, clean hotel and excellent food at a reasonable price you will get value for money. All in all i would highly recommend this hotel
only fault i had was location because my child is only 3 and i didnt get much use out of pleasure beach. If you had older children and using pleasure beach this is a brilliant location.
