Score from 101 reviews Superb
The apartment suited us to the ground, separate entrance and safe courtyard meant more relaxed parents. Super location a few hundred yards from the front and local amenities, couldn't ask for more. Vernon is a wonderful and very friendly host, nothing being too much trouble. Be back again in the next holidays, kids loved it
Parking not to great
The separate room was great for the larger size family, the location was perfect far enough from the main road and close to all paignton has to offer.
Vernon was fabulous, very welcoming. My daughter loved trying on the ballet outfits and so did I !!
Vernon (the host) is very friendly and made us feel at home right from the start. The room and the house in general are spacious. Everything clean and modern facilities in bathroom, living room, etc. The best part, Vernon is a Russian ballet teacher who has worked with some of the greatest companies in the world and gave our daughter a great free class (which included beautiful costumes!) and incredible pointers which you can't get from normal academies.
I wanted a cooked breakfast but there was only cereal
Everything except no cooked breakfast
Very friendly home from home experience. Toys and DVD's in room which our little girl loved. Basic room, but great as safe for children. Will stay again and recommend to friends. Thanks Vernon!
Very friendly staff.
no bedside tables ,no tea and coffee facilitys in the room ,shared bathroom
Staffs friendliness, close to beach and town
Great friendly, relaxed atmosphere from the welcome on arrival and throughout my stay. Love the use of the fully equipped kitchen and DIY breakfast works well.
location was excellent. spacious rooms. . choice of food for breakfast and being able to help yourselves.
bedroom was small and very basic. mattress was foam and very hot .big thick quilt even though summer time. towels were a bit shabby.
liked the friendliness of the host. very nice family . good atmosphere in the house between guests and host.
Thoroughly recommend this great hotel. Great value for money and Vernon made us feel very welcome, even providing dvds and toys for my 2 year old. We are regular visitors to Paignton so we will definitely be back.
Nothing bad to report what so ever.
I stayed here with my wife and our daughter in August. We had a brilliant stay which consisted of 2 nights. Vernon was very friendly, our room was lovely and clean. House was lovely and big, which also (Very kindly) included toys which our daughter could play with. Breakfast was great. We would happily stay here again.
We were lucky enough to stay in the ground floor apartment. Great location
Ground floor room with door to garden grounds was excellent. The owner was friendly and would make sure we were comfortable. Our child was also catered for with a selection of books and toys for his use.
Very Dirty, lack of things advertised. ie full working kitchen, very very poor service throughout
Location and leaving
Felt the breakfast could be improved. Continental is fine but felt there wasn't enough choice, no fruit on offer. TV on quite loud which was a bit off putting. Staff should have offered tea & coffee & toast, would have extra bit of service. Nice people but a bit haphazard.
Friendly host, big communal lounge, clean & good sleep
Although review said limited parking there was only 2 parking spaces with only 1 space available some of the time. However there was cheap overnight carpark nearby and and on road outside so not too much of issue.
Lovely double room with view of sea and paignton pier. Very clean. Two minute walk from seafront. Perfect base for amenities. Vernon was very friendly and helpful .
Limited parking available, and no cooked breakfast which would have been nice.
Owner was very friendly and we were made very welcome despite only staying one night.
The curtains were two foot shorter than the patio window you felt like you were in somebody's private house when you walked in shoes coats in the hallway The breakfast was which consist of bowls of cereal were not fresh on entering the buding there is a massive sign about a feud with neigbours ,not pleasant reading
Warm and friendly, the house was very clean, everything you needed was at hand.
After reading some negative reviews we were slightly concerned after booking BUT needn't have been. The guest house delivered as it says on the website, our family room was very clean, the breakfast was very good (not cooked however there was a choice of cereals, croissants and even apple turnovers plus tea, coffee, etc. Vernon was very friendly and welcoming and advised us of the bathroom location, the fact we could use the facilities of the house and said if we needed anything else we only had to ask. For a family staying for a short break, the family room was very nice and clean and the bathroom (not ensuite as we were aware) was very clean with a good power shower and clean towels provided. I can only assume the people leaving the very poor reviews were expecting service and a room type to that of a hotel chain (which a guest house would not be) and if you want ensuite, a bar, plus other mod cons (with the price this comes with of course) then this would not be the place for you, however if you want a nice clean place to stay, with a nice host and made to feel very welcome then I would recommend this guest house at a very reasonable price. Nick, Swindon.
Didn't think the rooms or bedding very clean. Not overly comfortable. A bit run down.
The location. Close to beach. We had a carpark. Greeted upon arrival. Clean kitchen.
