room was a good size and clean liked the large kettle
was told on arrival that a live band was playing that night but would be finished at 11.30pm they where still playing at 12.05 am very loud music. Room very warm even with window open
Got good vibes from the old building, but it was a bit "Faulty Towers" . A very nice young lady was very helpful with what limited resources she had. She happily changed us to a double room from a single but could not do it without making a call to someone outside the building.
The window in the room was falling apart. bathroom was cold and dreary and you would not want to spend any time there. The bar/restaurant was not welcoming, small poor menu and when we tried to get breakfast at 8am, the place was totally shut and we had to go out a side door! no one around to assist. Would not go back.
Great service, warm & friendly.
Lack of toiletries!
Friendly staff Large room Good food
Breakfast not included and that wasn't clear when booking
Bed, bathroom, stained carpets, no breakfast and no staff. Had to make a return journey to return key and ask for money back.
The staff was very friendly, simple but good pub food, good breakfast.
Arriving we stood at the bar/reception whilst the receptionist read her book. The room we were given had not been cleaned, used cups, towels, bed. Given another room the shower would not work properly, no pressure as is was leaking. Frankly, the worst hotel I have stayed and as it was late Sunday night when we arrived we could not locate another hotel. If this is what Booking.com recommend then perhaps we will not use them again
Very friendly staff. Large comfortable room, convenient location for airport and going into London.
Staff were helpful and welcoming. The first room we had was tastefully well equipped, newly decorated, and comfortable, apart from the window frame urgently in need of replacement. The second room given us because of extreme road noise without demure dealt with this. The downstairs pub area was of a good standard to fit with the obliging staff.
It was a hot day so we had to keep our windows open but as it is situated on a busy corner there was constant traffic noise till the early hours. The second room, a standard one, away from the road had problems with one of its bath taps and the shower fitting.
The location of this hotel was both convenient for us and in a pretty country village. Our room was spacious, clean and airy. The staff were welcoming, if not exactly effusive, and the food was good quality, home cooking. The Friday night barbecue was simple and tasty.
The bathroom had a noisy fan and the shower screen didn't fit, so the floor was quickly flooded.
Staff were ok,room was ok, the bed too soft. The headline about sums it up. The room was very clean
My family and I chose to stay here, as it was close to Chessington. After a hectic day at Chessington, we were looking forward to flopping down on a lovely bed in a nice hotel room.
Unfortunately the decor of the bedrooms at Douglas Haig was very poor. The double room (no 1) my husband and I stayed in, had cracked wood and peeling paint on the windows, brown water stains on the radiator, black mould around the bath and a cracked and peeling ceiling in the bathroom. £65 for one nights stay without breakfast per room, is not value for money. We came away feeling very hard done by. Would definitely not recommend or stay again.
good size bedroom with comfortable bed, ease of parking and its location with many attractions to visit within a short distance.
catering. First night only a BBQ was available. Second night did not dine as the bar had only 1 customer.
Friendly staff, close location to RHS Wisley, easy to find, good parking, decent en suite bathroom, good food available
We visited on a very hot day this summer and found the room very hot to sleep in and no fan available.
Could get drink at bar late at night
Needs updating getting a tried
Staff friendly rooms clean and comfortable excellent value for money
staff and breakfast was excellent
big room free parking food is nice
we thought breakfast was included in the price but it wasn't, this made it less good value for money as we could have stayed at the De Vere with the rest of the wedding party we travelled there for for roughly the same amount of money
Peaceful and Quiet location
No Air Conditioning. Bar drinks expensive
Easy to find as a solo traveller
Decor was a little tired
My wife and me stayed at the Sir Douglas Haigh Inn in order to visit Hampton Court Flower Show. Apart from the staff who were friendly and helpful there was very little else to say anything nice about with regard to the establishment.
Bedroom(2) had plaster peeling off the walls. Extractor fan in bathroom screeched every time it was switched on. Light above mirror in bathroom did not work. Had one meal in the evening-very basic. Would not stay again.
The location is easy to find, straight on a road. The room was spacious, the bed - comfortable and clean.
I had to arrive late - it seemed to be a problem as the whole venue closes at 12.00. Luckily, there was a football match going on late, so the owner did greet me on my arrival. I had to leave the next morning at 7.15 and there was no breakfast available for me at that time and there was no alternative offered even thought I paid for breakfast. Everything seems dated - cracks on tiles in the bathroom, cracks on walls, poor state of window frames etc. The tea/coffee facility is quite limited - no choice of tea, milk is just for one. The hotel is on a road, so it is quite noisy.
good size room
could hear people in the room next door.
The staff were really helpful and friendly and the accommodation was very good value for money.
