We only stayed one night as we were passing through but loved the position and location. Beautiful views from our huge bay windows. Food in the restaurant was very good as well.
We like the area having been many times in to Derbyshire - having lived in Sheffield we knew the area well. We always enjoy Bakewell and Baslow
We wished we had had a chair to sit on instead of the bed. The toilet cistern kept dripping but we raised the ball cock and it stopped it.
A smashing room overlooking part of the Hope Valley. An excellent selection of breakfasts with generous proportions. Owners & staff very friendly. Evening meals (not included in deal) good value and cooked to perfection and very enjoyable.
expensive for what it was
The room was very nice with a beautiful view. The staff was very friendly. And the food at the restaurant was really good. I would highly recommend this hotel . It's in perfect location from all the other places to see in peak district.
I would say the room was a bit pricy but I suppose you pay for the location.
the staff were very welcoming and helpful.the room was clean and well equipped.there was a good choice for breakfast.and the evening meals were very nice.you could also order a packed lunch for the next day .the gardens were a nice place to sit outside with good views.
there was nothing I didn`t like
the staff and owners went above and beyond being helpful I can't thank them enough for there support. Lovely dinner too.
First time at Sir William but certainly won't be our last. We enjoyed the room (fantastic view), food (breakfast and dinner), staff (friendly and very helpful) and great walks from Grindleford Station.
We paid extra for room with a view and it was well worth it. The evening meal in the pub was tasty, plentiful and hot. The menu gave plenty of choice even for non- meat eaters and all meals were freshly cooked. In the bedroom, the bed was comfortable, the tea tray well stocked and the water piping hot. (No Wi Fi in the bedrooms though) At breakfast, the excellent standard was maintained and the food once again was tasty, plentiful and hot, served by attentive staff. This visit had been a special treat to mark the first day of my (early) retirement. I won't need an excuse to come back again. An excellent beginning to the first day of the rest of my life!
Great location & lovely place staff really lovely !!
There was not much we didnt like but thought the rubber ducks in bathroom let the room down !! They have lots of black messy water inside !!
Food & staff service very good. Godd location for our needs. Very clean.
Bed mattress could feel the springs & pillows too flat. For mature guest these are of great importance
Beautiful view , excellent fresh home cooked food .
Great dinner, friendly staff
location in Peak District is good; bed was comfortable; staff were friendly. Good breakfast with healthy options.
Wi-Fi did not work in room. No double glazing, so chilly and also noise from road outside. Noise from extractor fan in adjacent room.Evening meals expensive after 6pm when light meals are no longer served.
Beautiful location with very good views. Small friendly hotel with good food and comfy rooms. Booked the whole hotel with 20 family members for our sons wedding in the next hotel and could not have been treated any better.
Some areas need to be updated and missed a comfy lounge area.
Nothing I didn't,t like
Room was comfortable and breakfast was very good. The owner was friendly and attentive. Bathroom seemed newly refurbished to a very high standard. View from the garden is excellent.
Wi-fi did not work and staff on duty did not seem to understand the problem.
The staff was friendly, food was good, bed comfortable and the place just too good to be true. A lot of trees and nature involved. Def estaying there another time.
The wifi didn't work well on our room.
Staff were very friendly good food and very relaxing
Room, friendly staff
Food was average
The nice breakfast and gorgeous views couldn't make up for the filth in my room.
Very pleasant welcome. Friendly place. We enjoyed our meal in the pub. Lovely area to walk from and great views.
everything the room was very comfortable the food excellent and the staff very friendly and obliging
Breakfast was really nice and cooked to order with fresh local produce.
The bedroom was freezing cold. We hardly got any sleep our room was so noisy from traffic noise
Great location, great food, friendly helpful staff
Generally very tired decor and facilities. Rubbish shower! Lacked attention to detail.
