Lovely location, great food and helpful staff.

Lovely old building, great views, plenty of free parking, friendly helpful staff.

car park has a steep sideways slope- not really a problem unless you need to check your oil.

poor service from younger staff regarding table service, didnt listen to order at breakfast and only served one of us eggs on toast, evening meal no one came to table to take order after 20 minutes waiting went to order ourselves from bar,

The staff were excellent and always very friendly when dealing with requests. Breakfast each morning was superb, the views from the rear of the hotel are stunning. Locals who used the bar were also very friendly and liked a good laugh.

This is not the hotels fault but there is absolutely nothing else in the village except houses, no shops, no pubs.

Some rooms, e.g. No. 7, are above the bar/restaurant, which can be noisey until circa 10.30/11.00 pm.

The room was really clean and comfortable, the food was superb abd goos value, the views beautiful and the staff really cared about us as people. We will definitely be going back.

The windows were single glazed and let traffic noise in a little.

Hotel was rather quiet;there were not many customers in bar area; feel a wider range of local real ales would attract more local drinkers; could well be time of year. Entrance porch needed a good sweep every day; leaves and dusty; slightly created wrong impression as you walked in door. Once past entrance everything was fine. I always thing an immediate impression on entering a hotel is very important.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The twin room was well appointed and the shower room had recently been refurbished. The food was excellent and reasonable priced.

The hotel is close to the road, so there is some traffic noise coming down the hill.

Fantastic view from our Superior Room (room number 6). Clean and tidy room, especially the bathroom. Ample parking. Very nice food at competitive prices. A very relaxing location away from busy roads.

We found nothing of real note to dislike. The rooms themselves are basically furnished, which is representative of the fact that this is a short stay local inn rather than a modern hotel, but the views and location more than make up for any shortcomings.

We left our room early one morning and locked it but returning very late that night it was unlocked with a busy pub downstairs. Obviously the cleaner did her job brilliantly but just forgot to lock up. This did concern us as all our valuables were left unsecured.Thankfully all was ok.

The superior rooms were lovely with bay windows giving a wonderful vista of the valley
