A very pleasant family run hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Good freshly prepared home cooked food. Basic but comfortable accommodation. The electric shower is only a basic model more suited to domestic use so it took a bit of time to sort out the temperature control.

The oak beams and country feel made it a charming setting, the rooms although small were very clean and the beds comfortable. The food was excellant and plenty of it. Breakfast was cooked fresh everyday, if you could not manage the full english that was on offer, then they would cook whatever you asked for. Would certainly stay there again. All in all there is not anything I didnt like. A few things could have been better i.e A bigger TV screen, a shower with my power and better tea bags!! apart from that it was a great place for us to stay.

i liked the location, the food was excellent, the old pub and its good beers the shower was poor, the walls too thin in the rooms, and a bit quiet at night, there were only 4 other guests who all went to bed at 9.30pm

Set in peaceful countryside, it was a quiet, but well appointed B & B. Breakfast was superb apart from a noisy coffee machine. No Complaints for us

Lovely countryside, magnificant scenery, quiet location, within easy reach of bury st edmunds and cambridge. I am sure it is a really lovely place to visit in the spring/summer but found that the bedrooms/bathroom/toilet were really cold and had to go out and purchase hot water bottles. Doesnt bode well for romantic weekends!!

Homely, friendly attitude. Good food. This was our 4th stay here! Speaks for itself. Mean on toiletries - 1 small piece of soap - no shampoo. Clock radio was too complicated! And rather cheap. Had to return home early due to partner's illness. Wd have liked to stay. Garden much improved.

The room was quite large, very clean and had all the necessary comfort. Hotel is in a very quiet and rural area. The service of the hotel personnel is excellent; you "feel" as a customer that you are not a number but that they really take care of you. Breakfast is more than ok, dinner is excellent. Will visit for sure again when we are in the neighbourhood. I had shown - while booking - our preference for a bath instead of a shower. The hotel has no rooms with bath and should have informed us about this by reply e-mail. Blankets on the bed are not very common anymore in hotels ...

The peace and quiet of the surroundings. The location was wonderful. The food was excellent and plenty of it. The staff were always very pleasant and very keen to help, and the atmosphere in the Six Bells was very relaxed. My holiday has left me feeling relaxed and happy, and I would not hesitate to return to the Six Bells whenever I visit Suffolk again.

Nice friendly Inn, in quite village location. Good value for money with good food. Limited number of staff during buisy periods. Electric shower in the room, was not very powerfull. Also walls between rooms were very thin, enabling you to hear conversations in next door room.

The Bar Area and food (including evening meals) were excellent. Surrounding Countryside was superb. The 10 rooms are chalet type accomodation in a converted barn. Heating in the rooms was excellant, however the rooms are in need of a uplift. I cant remember the last hotel I stayed in which had blankets on the bed.. Bathroom facilities are poor, however very clean. Having stayed in many hotels over the past 40 years, the price does not reflect the amenities or comfort

We chose the Six Bells Inn because of its link with Dad's Army and its location. We were not disappointed. The Inn was pleasantly nostalgic, warm and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and pleasantly decorated - and with a lovely 4 poster bed. Now to the food. The menu wasn't extensive but there was adequate choice and the food was beautifully cooked and presented. We even came away with their recipe for one of the starters and were inspired to purchase similar dishes to present it in. The breakfast was fantastic, tasty and plentiful - set us up for a day's exploration and walking. The staff were very pleasant, polite and welcoming.

The location was super, very remote and relaxing. The food was a very good standard. The rooms were all ground floor, which are not my favourite, but my fault for not checking before I went. Other than that, it was a very comfortable place and value for money.
