The friendly host, the delicious breakfast, the comfort of the bed.
Could not fault a thing
Warm welcome, beautiful facilities, roaring fire in lounge, rural and quiet, amazing scenery, helpful hosts and the best breakfasts cooked to perfect. Every need taken care of. Cannot rate this place highly enough.
Comfort, location and facilities excellent. Thomas was a superb host.
Apart from the location being a little off if you do not have a car. Nothing. Even that was a small problem. Taxi services are good on Islay!
Amazing staff, the guy who was looking after us was excellent! He really looked after us. Furthermore the house is incredible. Doesn't look like anything special, but once inside it's amazing. Very comfy, clean and inviting! One kind of do not want to leave the house..
Location, breakfast, host
Lovely little B&B in a very relaxing space. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. House was beautiful with open fire shared lounge and breakfast was probably the best I have ever had. Ideal place to escape the city for a week or so and thoroughly enjoyed my stay! Would certainly stay again!
The breakfast and accommodations were fantastic! Thomas was great with recommendations and everything was as it should be! Quiet, cozy, accommodating. Everything you could ask for. Not sure how to say it better, Islay has me now!
Having to leave!
Wonderful hospitality Lovely breakfasts Comfortable rooms Up-to-date facilities Assistance with exploring the island
Most friendly comfortable atmosphere. Excellent snug to adjourn to for an evening drink to contemplate the countryside. Breakfast is to be experienced to believe. Even before the cereals and the pastries there s the range of some eight types of fresh fruit from which to chose. Raspberries were outstanding. .
Thomas was an excellent host
You have to be joking!! just read my review. Nothing my wife or myself could fault
Tasteful décor, wonderful views, superb breakfasts. Most of all Thomas what a manager nothing too much trouble and interesting to have a chat with about life on the island. We have just arrived back in South Africa after a 6 week tour of Europe No. 1 Skerrols fantastic. Y
The sofa was too near too the television you had to book early to eat at the local hotel - we were unable to get in on one night out of three - disappointing as the food was very good
Lovely quiet country house, Manager excellent, property very clean and tidy. Lovely warm towels in the bathroom which was very spacious. Breakfast had a great choice.
The only thing that bothered me was having to leave the lights on all night because of the risk of litigious visitors...
What a warm welcome! Tomas and his wife ensure that everything is as one would hope for. The whole place is spotless, lovely chunky towels, bathrobes and a snuggly king-size bed that ensured a good night's sleep. Breakfast was excellent and a good start to the day.
This has no reflection on skerrols house but if you're going out for dinner - book ahead!
Perfection... We experienced gracious hospitality in an immaculate environment. We could not fault skerrol house. Attention to detail was exceptional with kind gestures which made our stay personalised. I defy anyone not to feel comfortable and relaxed.
Not being able to stay longer.
Host, location, food, comfort, Islay.
Hosts were amazing, as was the food. Location beautiful, quiet and very comfortable. Drying room for damp gear. Excellent all round!
Unable to open the bedroom windows to allow fresh air in to have a better sleep
The welcome on arrival and the breakfast was second to none
A warm welcome Excellent service from Thomas Great breakfasts
One minor critism was the TV was difficult to work - but I am a complete idiot when there's more than one remote!
Its hard to find fault with anything , the room was luxurious, great bath and shower, stunning views of the countryside, Thomas the manager was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was the best I've had, continental buffet with full scottish. its set in a peaceful spot the perfect spot to relax.
A little hard to find. Yes there is a sign, but it is rather small. And it is out of town, but so is most of Islay, so not a major problem.
This must be the top accommodation on Islay. Great rooms with large walk-in showers. The breakfast buffet was a feast in of itself. Best in our 3 week trip.
Expected food and drink to be available on arrival but we fetched our own
Thomas was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Very pleasant setting - we enjoyed sitting in the garden.
Thomas was fantastic--made an amazing breakfast served diligently with coffee and toast refills coming often to go with scrumptuous smoked-salmon scrambled eggs....a bowl of berries (3 kinds) and fresh fruit to start. Very good advice proffered on what to do while there--hikes, vistas (such as American monument on Mull of Oa looking out to Ireland....oh God...heaven...sheer heaven). Stay here and write off a bucket list item. -Dr. JB
Everything in general.
