Size of rooms was good. Staff tried hard but were too few and just not good enough. Few appeared to have big hotel experience.
Impossible to read in the room - lights far too dim. Food average to poor and over priced Dining facilities struggled with the number of residents
Staff friendly, great leisure facilities.
Staff very friendly and helpful Grounds very nice
Room needed a refurbishment. Went for breakfast half our before it finished and the food was cold and not replenished.
Spa area was nice, upgrade to newer part of hotel definitely worth it although I found the bed I the classic room more comfortable!
Sauna broken and pool a little cold
Really enjoyed our evening meal - excellent food beautifully served. Room was very clean and bed super comfortable.
This was a rare night away without the kids and we chose a 4star hotel so it would be special. I was disappointed not to feel 'looked after' - had to ask twice for extra milk and tea bags, ask twice for a late check out, again for an extra hour in the spa as we were all awoken by the fire alarm and our morning start delayed... It all felt rather 'begrudging' from the staff and as though we were an inconvenience rather than they wanted us to return. Really disappointing.
Overall, a good place to stay for a business traveller, comfortable room, good value for money.
Plumbing needs attention (shower, taps etc) and the breakfast was decidedly average - except the coffee which was awful!
The staff and facilities were very good
On the Friday night of our stay there was live music in the bar -directly under our room.I was assured this would end at 11.30 but was still going at midnight.I spoke to the duty manager who said he would stop the music but had to call again at 12.30 when it finally stopped.I have e-mailed the hotel to complain about the lack of warning given when booking but have been ignored. The room we were given should not have been occupied when live music wasw planned for the bar.
hard to focus on the good with poor customer service
I asked them to call me in the room as I had no internet. No one bothered. I asked someone in reception when i went down they said someone would call me on my mobile . No one did. I wrote an e-mail and had no reply. I want my money back.................................................
due to a company cancelling a themed night, the hotel arranged for us to hold a hen night in our own room with a singer.. This was very appreciated .
The food was not very nice. The starter came in different sizes & wasn't bought out all together, a lot of waiting for other people's meals to be delivered so that we could all eat at the same time! The quality of the main dish was appalling, not enough sauce, which made it very dry & tasteless. Again food wasn't bought out at the same time leaving food to go cold!
Size of bed in family room was fantastic & very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was very good.
Shower curtain rather than screen. 1 mug & 1 tea bag in the family room! Only 2 towels in the family room! Food in restaurant was dry & portions very small.
The welcome we received. The room was lovely. Unfortunately didn't get a chance to try the swimming pool etc but looked awesome.
Layout of the bar area and not very comfortable seats. But wouldn't stop us from coming back
Stayed in the master suite (executive suite) and loved it didn't want to leave. Had a great weekend hotel wonderful, staff wonderful except for a sour faced waiter serving breakfasts but had such a good time even he couldn't spoil it, will definitely be going back
The waiter serving breakfast on the Sunday morning was very rude and ignorant, it was very busy and seemed annoyed that he had to work
broken headboard, sheets not big enough for mattress or poorly fitted. Room advertised as "garden view" I suggest they have afresh look out the window. None of the above affected our stay but would have been nicer without these matters.
bar staff and reception staff friendly and polite. Food lovely
Duty manager wasn't very helpful
housekeeping not up to scratch, stained bedsheet on the single bed. Shower over bath had very poor water flow rate more like a light drizzle than a shower. room looked a bit worn out needs a refurb.
I stayed at hotel with 16 & 8 year old. the rooms were big however the floors were very noisy & we were woke at 7 am to the room above us running the bath! our room was on first floor it was very noisy not sure if it was generator or boilers but it kept my youngest awake. The pool was nice if a little dated & the changing rooms could do with an update but kids didnt complain & loved been in the pool
The hotel is in a quiet area in a pleasant part of town. The staff are warm and friendly. There are good facilities for those wishing to use the pool and leisure area, although we didn't have time.
A car is required to get into town. The decor in our room was a little tired, with damp patches on the ceiling and water staining to the bathroom door. The night we stayed the hotel was hosting an event which continued until 2.45am with loud music. Not good for sleeping!
I had a very big bed for the price I paid :)
The breakfast was appalling for 12.50 Even if you chose the continental breakfast at 9.50 I certainly would not pay that for the choice Croissants muffins or ham?
Large family room with great hotel facilities and spa
Kids loved going for a swim in the morning and feeling all "grown up" .
The beautiful pool I spent many hours there using the facilities and reading the free papers. Check out at 11am is lovely as I managed a swim before I had to leave.
The wifi kept disconnecting however I wasn't there to be glued to my computer and phone so it didn't matter much to me.
Staff were very friendly , room was clean and tidy . The facility's were good even tho it ran out of drinking water . only small changes are needed from my list below then I think I would book my staff at this hotel without a dought .
The shower was falling off the wall . Bath water ran Luke warm , wifi was a waste of time I'm guessing that's why you don't need a password with it . Pillows on the bed were far to small and thin . The cooked breakfast wasn't very hot . For £133 p/n I didn't find it value for money at all . Sorry .
Very nice quiet room which I had requested with my booking. Spacious and comfortable room with a lovely large bed. Information on the tv guide re: hotel facilities was very helpful. Bar staff and breakfast staff were very helpful and professional. Good value for money. Have stayed here before and will stay again.
Would have liked a room service list either in the room or on the tv screen. Didnt think the bar was very comfortable. Poor atmosphere.
The room was huge, which was nice.
The room smelt damp and very musty, and the window was open, so they know there's a problem. The bar is uncomfortable, the drinks were badly made and there was no atmosphere. The restaurant was like sitting in a village hall at wooden tables. We didn't stay to eat.
Room, Bar area,food
Rude head receptionist, pizza boxes left in wardrobe
