Good value deal 1 nights stay including dinner, bed & breakfast. Food and breakfast in bistro very good. Decent bottle of wine but quite pricey.
Requests at booking were ignored though didn't make a fuss as only 1 nights stay. Hotel bar snacks did not have any mayonnaise in hotel for club sandwich so had it without which wasn't great in cold toasted bread!
Evening menu in the restaurant was pretentious and some of the choices were based on what is sold as dog food.
Room Rate for Half Board Package Excellent Breakfast buffet
Wi-fi was very poor in the room and the heating was weak
Location, food, staff
Poor wi-fi connectivity, too many kids in pool/spa area
Food was gorgeous, spa facilities fantastic, lovely hotel in stunning grounds.
The welcome, smiling staff ready to help. The views were stunning. The activities were amazing in beautiful grounds.
Food was great staff very polite and helpful. Spa pool very good. Very good walks around the hotel.
could do with a shower at poolside. Bed was not the best with sunken matress.
Recently changed from devere to q hotels.bern going to slayley for lady 10 years and it was great to see same great service and familiar faces.
Claret jug was closed on Saturday presumably for the wedding which was taking place.this meant no choice re restaurant to dine on and no seats available in 19th bar mid day as v v busy with claret jug closed.
The staff were excellent and nothing to much trouble. It showed that they cared. The restuarant was lovely food but very popular so book the exclusive dining room if you want a quiet evening.lots of little rooms and areas to find privacy and as you would expect the surrounding area and golf courses were lovely. Breakfast was excellent.
Wifi was rubbish and didn't work in the bedroom. Book if you want to use the spa facilities as obviously very popular and my wife couldn't get booked in. Our fault for not booking in advance
The bar area is good place to relax aswell as the other little rooms off that . The staff were also great and always wanting to help.
To many kids splashing around in spa pool . Waited around hour and half for our main course
Disapointed no fridge in room
Enjoyed the Spa, dinner and breakfast excellent. Complimentary bottle of wine in room.
I don't think air conditioning is needed in restaurant in January. Conservatory was very cool due to drafts from doors not fitting properly.
Bar, restaurant, surroundings.
We were in a suite in old part of hotel. We has to phone reception at midnight as the music/bsckground noise was playing into a speaker into the living area of our suite ?! The problem was fixed straight away, the man on reception thought it was the same music that plays on the corridors and it turns itself off just after midnight ?!
Despite complaining to reception about lack of heat the room, cold shower and lack of WI-FI. Only the shower was rectified. It seems as though since Q hotel's have taken over they have spent a lot of money on facilities and cut down in other areas such as heating. even the reception and the corridors were cold.
Walking, snow, good weather, friendliness
Everything, very relaxing.
Location and Staff
Poor room in need of full refurbishment( King Suite) Ripped carpet and window not closing. Not what I expected
Excellent facilities and staff. Stunning pool area. Restaurant food brilliant. Highly recommended.
Wifi in room unstable but excellent in public areas.
Pool and leisure facilities, Location, style, staff. Buffet breakfast good
menu and meals disapointing as was our room. Wish we had upgraded
Everything was absolutely fantastic. Will definitely return soon.
We'll worth the price! Will deffo be visiting again! Loved it
Moved to a Fantastic room when we raised the coolness of our bedroom. Staff very pleasant and bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable.
Breakfast was rather mediocre.
Excellent value for money
Very friendly staff who worked very hard to give guests a pleasant stay. The setting for this hotel is superb, surrounded by the golf course and with pleasant walks but it is also an easy drive to the attractions of Hadrian's Wall, Hexham, pretty Blanchland and Newcastle. Public rooms are very nicely furnished and inviting if crowded when we stayed. Rather disappointingly the pool was so busy we were turned away on our first day. We ate in the Dukes Grill on both nights, service was very good as was the environment, food was acceptable but not exceptional, same for breakfast in Hadrian's Brasserie, overcooked eggs and bacon on day 1 so we ordered from the menu the following morning: our order for poached eggs on granary toast arrived as overcooked eggs on barely toasted brown! Our room (233) was quiet and close to the pool/spa, very comfortable bed but the duvet cover had a hole in it. The room was clean but the bathroom needs refurbishing (cracked basin, damaged door) A pleasant enough stay but it doesn't match up to nearby Matfen Hall or Doxford Hall for food and pool facilities.
