Score from 171 reviews Superb
Being able to use the pool and facilities. The staff were very pleasant.
The changing room was small and dingy. Our upgrade wasn't worth that much.
Food was delicious
Room was far to hot even with air con on
Luxury few days!
The claret jug opening longer
The comfort and cleanliness of the bedroom, and the hotel in general. Friendliness of all the staff, very helpful.
Beautiful lounges with fires, Dukes Grill restaurant looked amazing, Hadrians Brasserie food good
19th hole & claret jug only served food until 6pm & dukes grill was shut so no option but to eat in Brasserie
The hotel as a whole was superb looking to book our next stay ASAP
Nothing loved everything about the hotel
We had a few small problems in room which were sorted immediately
Staff were generally pleasant.
Deluxe double room with view over a turning circle. Upgrade teased beforehand but not available. Damage to furniture in the room and tattiness of fixtures and fittings throughout the hotel. Food with evening meal was cold despite every plate being nuclear, breakfast choice was poor (and cold). Charged a service charge and again for paying on a credit card.
The bed was so large and comfortable and enjoyed the pool
Hated not having a fridge (will put me of staying again) and felt changing rooms in pool area could be cleaner
Everything! Good was excellent.
The facilities, staff, food, location
Just felt the standard room was basic and furniture needs an update
Good location, comfortable rooms, pleasant staff.
wifi not available at times as too many people trying to access it. Cold in Claret Jug when eating there in the evening.Staff couldn't really do anything about it but it needs sorting to maddening there a more pleasant experience.Food was good.
Spacious Room and bathroom, comfortable and cosy public areas including bar (19th), staff politeness, pool. Nice walks around hotel but take walking boots as some areas boggy. Cannot fault facilities especially as I got really good price.
Not at all a bad experience but drinks are a little pricey but you do get salted peanuts.
Beautiful surroundings and so comfortable - already booked my next visit
The room was comfortable and the bar area had free wifi and was relaxing
I have lodged an official complaint and still haven't had a response. The service during out evening meal was awful. We had to ask for our drinks again after the starter came and we still didn't have drinks. The main course and dessert were not served as per the menu and my husband has a photo from the male toilets where there was a bath towel being used to catch who knows what coming from the underneath of it. The pool in the morning had not been cleaned. The staff at breakfast got my order wrong. And when speaking to the manager he didn't seem to know what to do and just ended by saying he would email me. I have since called head office to complain, spoken to a girl once who said she would call me back and after 3 voicemail messages she still hasn't. Absolutely appalled at the poor service from start to finish in a hotel that used to be outstanding.
the service was excellent
Friendly staff. All of hotel very clean rooms excellent. Food fabulous. Returning march 20th for another stay.
Nothing to dislike
We had a short 2 night break at Slaley Hall and it was excellent. From the warm welcome to the cleanliness - and everything else in between - it was an first class venue for a short break away.
Surroundings, staff, food, facilities and character of hotel. Some may consider food and drink prices to be high but please consider the level of service and quality and the lovely surroundings. If you are after 2 for a tenner then this may not be for you.
We stayed at slayley hall for valentines day 2015. The service we received was excellent, and all the staff were friendly and couldn't be more helpful. We enjoyed the spa facilities and the breakfast was very good. We will definitely return.
Room was warm and comfortable excellent bathroom piping hot water food was amazing
No complaints at all only minor was no robe in room but not a great deal
I enjoyed the whole experience including excellent golf facilities.
Location, handy for nice towns like Corbridge and Hexham.
Check in wait was a joke, flicking through bits of paper. Not hotels fault, but too many children as half term. Maybe this should be brought to a "couples" attention when booking as was not comfortable to use spa facilities until evening.
