Spa Golf Bedroom Breakfast
Pool changing rooms - really need upgraded
Decor was a bit tired
The whole experience was brilliant. We made good use of spa and swimming. The restaurant the Dukes and Sousa a very charming and helpful waiter made us most welcome. He is excellent at his job. Also the bar staff made us most welcome especially Chasme and his staff. We enjoyed the lovely scenery around Slaley. Hall and golf course. Our weather was brilliant and the autumn colours were fantastic.
The only negative point was the jaccuzi only worked one time for us.
Concierge and front desk customer service, Spa, atmosphere in the hotel bar
Good links to trunk roads Pleasant walks from hotel Good quality food Helpful Staff General ambience of hotel
Having to leave!
Fabulously comfortable beds. Rooms a good size - furnishings and bathroom fittings not too old! Great golf course (Hunting) although plays long as it was very wet underfoot. Well stocked Pro Shop and practice facilities. Staff all amazingly friendly and very helpful. Great northern hospitality.
The hotel is a quadrant and room 334 was about as far from reception/restaurants/bar as you could get. Huge walks between facilities so don't forget anything in your room! Didn't like tinned fruit and frozen berries for breakfast - yuk. Don't have the fish and chips in the Claret Jug restaurant as the batter was so thick it was raw in the middle and I couldn't find the fish!
The whole setting was lovely staff very nice
Breakfast wasn't the best food not very warm
Very helpful and friendly staff
Staff first rate, food in restuarants very good indeed. Quiet, considering size of hotel and extent of their wedding trade.
Sorry, but I just don't like shower curtains!
Room high quality even before upgrade. Luxury bathroom and very large room, massive bed. Good choice of three restaurants. Parkland a golf course but opportunities for pleasant walks
Rowdy Geordie wedding parties, straight out Viz dominated by cackling screeching females. They seemed to be sneaking 15 people into each double room. However for the most part they are easily avoided in this huge complex.
Food was okay but often not hot. Just okay.
Breakfast second day everything had run out had to wait quite along time for it to come out
lovely sized room, and big bed. bedding gorgeous. staff all excellent. fantastic place.
thought restaurant a little expensive for what it was. appreciate beautiful surroundings but still a little pricey.
Decor, facilities and not much else
On arrival drove up to door 3 staff members standing not 1offered to get our cases or park my car despite a notice saying valet parking was available. At the Dukes restaurant they ran out of 4 of the items on the menu and we were told that there was only 1 chicken left in the hotel so we better take it. 5 star dining??? Why do the menu item not come with side dishes at average of £25 per main £10 for 2 sides is a bit much so beware. At check in I was told that they would take swipe of my credit card and £50 would show but not taken. The reality was that £200 was taken and is still showing on my card despite paying my bill in full. Complained to duty manager no good at all full of appologies but nothing else (must be used to it) no discount or refund on our meals. To cap it all a 10% service charge was added to my bill which I refused to pay. Did I mention that the air con in our room developed a mind of its own at 2 in the morning and constantly switched on and off every minute dispite our attempts to switch it off told the duty manager about this but he did not appear to be listening.
Clean comfortable standard room
Only one side bed light. No mineral water offerred in room
everything apart from the cost of the drink.
cost and choice of draught beers , lagers, cider, not enough. geared for the spirit drinker.
The facilities were first class & the staff friendly and welcoming. Even though the hotel was busy there was plenty of pleasant areas to sit & relax in. We were given a complimentary upgrade & although the room had single beds rather than a double the view from our window overlooking the golf course more than made up for it.
The staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself has lots of character but feels modern as well. The amount of 'relax/chill' areas are superb especially in the cocktail bar area. The breakfast is outstanding with so much to choose from, like a banquet. We received an upgrade to 'Golf View'. The only thing wrong was that we could not close our wardrobe door so could not get to the safe but that didn't bother us. The spa is brilliant. I had three treatments altogether and thoroughly enjoyed all of them, especially the bodywrap.Overall, a fantastic stay.
We went for a walk around the grounds following the 'orange' route. Very early on the orange arrow disappeared and it was quite confusing which way to go so may be this could be sorted out.
Everything was done in a seamless manner for my niece's wedding, we were all looks after by the staff, the concierge was excellent, really made you welcome, food at the wedding was good, and the setting outside could have been anywhere in the world, absolutely stunning.
The price of the drinks at this venue and other venues are always extortionate
Excellent staff. Friendly, efficient and capable
Austere bathroom, dull bedroom and overpriced food. Loud music in all areas.
Lovely rooms, friendly staff, good food.
Spa needs updating badly!
Staff very attentive and friendly. Ambience elegant and comfortable.
Wines although good were much more expensive than in other comparable hotels.
The staff, especially at the golf course were very friendly.
The driving range but it is under improvement.
Spa treatments Entrance and hall ways great up keep in contrast to room Friendly check in staff and waiters
Run down hotel room in need of rebirth meant Slow dinner and breakfast service Old fashioned pool Mediocre food quality
