De Vere Hotel Slaley Hall  

We stayed for my wife's 50th Birthday and the 2 nights were excellent.

The food and the location.

We asked for two twin rooms but were given one twin & one double at opposite ends of the hotel.After complaining we were given two adjacent twin rooms which we could have been given in the first place.Our breakfast ordered in the room was only half delivered. Not the best stay in a hotel of this quality. Very disappointing to say the least.

The hotel is beautifully situated ,with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and Golf course . All staff very helpful , courteous and attentive .Our room was clean and very comfortable . The food and service in the bar was excellent . The leisure facilities ie. swimming pool ,sauna etc. superb . All round an amazing hotel , one of the best if not the best I have ever stayed in.

There were problems with our booking, not major but irritating because it seemed to take ages to sort out. Some of party not happy with spa, pool too small for numbers using it

I like this hotel as I have stayed their many times.

The breakfast is the worst I've possibly ever had, buffet style means dry and cold food. Not in line with the fantastic food served in the Claret Jug the evening before. Breakfast very dissappointing!

We had to shorten our stay due to illness. The staff were very helpfull and compassionate .Possibly the one of the friendliest hotels we have visited .

The staff were very welcoming. The room was spotless and tea/coffee facility was very good. Bed was very comfortable and toiletries were of high class in bathroom. Food was excellent and the surroundings were relaxing.

The trail up to the reception and the distance of parking your vehicle! I didn't like the idea of some stranger driving my car! No mobile signal with 3g very frustrating to dmsay the least

We attended a wedding , the room was beautiful , clean , well equipt , and very well sound proofed ! Staff were fabulous , helpful , friendly , and welcoming ! Fabulous setting , relaxed atmosphere , amazing night all round !

The pillows on bed were too hard ! But that was all !

Decor a bit dull and lighting too low. Music didn't have to be so loud. At times depending where we sat difficult to hold conversation. Hotel too big for intimate stay.

It was a very comfortable room and very clean. The food was very good and the staff were very friendly but professional at the same time. I would definitely stay there again if I was in the area.

There was nothing about the hotel I didn't like, it was a bit isolated but if I was on a leisure trip it would have been perfect.

We liked the friendly staff and pool area.

Hotel was not very warm, we changed seats 4 times in the Claret Jug. We asked for hot dogs on 1st night and told there was no baguettes to serve them in, also beer my husband wanted was off and he had to have bottled beer. At a hotel we expect to pay 'more' but £13.50 for a pizza and £4.10 for a cone of chips was a 'rip off'.

Breakfast was very good,with efficient and polite service.The food in the claret jug was good.

We reported that the bath water was VERY slow to empty,but this was not rectified.As we were only staying 2 nights,it did not cause us too much of a problem.Room 240
