Location, view and staff
Good self catering facilities and comfortable room A bit of a hike but very close to town centre
Breakfast not included
How we were initialy greeted by a very helpful member of staff and the over all comfort and cleanliness of our stay.
Very close to centre of Bakewell, literally only 5-10minutes walk into town. Also very close to ChatsworthHouse.
Room a little tired could do with fresh lick of paint, nothing major.
Clean accomodation with good shower and near the centre of Bakewell.
A little expensive for self catering accommodation.
Short walk into centre of town. Comfortable bed. Staff answered phone calls promptly.
Can hear noise and doors slamming from other rooms. Not able to shut bedroom windows- handles had been removed! Overall enjoyable stay though
Steps and hills
Kitchenette to make breakfast and drinks
It's not in the town centre and up a steep hill not suitable for elderly. Hotel is dog friendly but the rooms are in blocks and guests with dogs are in same blocks as those without. Guests in room next to us had very nervous dogs that growled and barked at slightest noise all night long. We suggest that some rooms / blocks are dog free.
Location, parking and dog friendly. Could do with being a little cheaper for what's on offer - I would return.
The B&B was in a great location for walking. It was comfy and clean and provided a high standard base for our short break.
Large comfortable bed. Splendid view. Friendly helpful staff.Martin even helped us with our dog conveyance. Basic cooking facilities are useful. Walks are easily accessible.
You would have to be quite fussy to find any problems.
The location is brilliant
The tap over the tiny bathroom basin is far too powerful. This results in water all over the floor.
Having been "up graded" from the sleep lodge and not having any knowledge of that accomodation did not really feel comfortable in vernon suite. No door knob on arrival saturday and still not been replaced on depart weds. Lack of opening windows in room made it oppresive. Damp patches on wall gave room musty smell. The shower control falling off on morning of departure really left the impression of a bad or tired room conversion
Martin! And the rest of the staff, too. :)
comfortable, quiet location that was close to town (albeit with a large hill on the way back)
wifi didn't work in my room but was good in carpark. arrangement with calling to pick up the key was confusing
Lovely views very well equipped , quickly came with more when telephoned for more saucepans. Really helpful staff , clean and comfortable . Easy walk into bakewell
We loved the casual atmosphere and the fact we could come and go anytime
We would have loved to eat in the garden but no seating
Our apartment was lovely and able to comfortably house three adults. Very clean and well kept. The location was excellent with a pretty view. The kitchenette was very useful.
The bathroom sink was very small. Wi-Fi was not consistently available.
Good location good facilites
The first room I was offered smelled badly (maybe from the sink), but I was given then another room which was fine. Staff was friendly and helpful.
good location really comfy bed great nights sleep
quite a few cobwebs about but no problem
Easy to check in and out Great location Friendly Staff Good size bed and room Good facilities including iron hair dryer lovely view from room window
cobwebs in room shower leaked a little
Large bed, quiet location, very powerful shower, beautiful view
DVD player did not work properly; could not get access to WiFi; could have done with a proper clean; décor was tatty; curtains over blinds would have enabled me to sleep longer (shouldn't really complain about a beautiful morning but I had a long-ish lie scheduled and was woken an hour before I needed to get up with the sun coming through the blind); no tin opener in the kitchenette.
Friendly, well placed, nice view and functional. Made a genuine effort to provide a fold up bed for our additional 16 year old although the bed wasn't satisfactory - the effort was made
TV signal was poor.
Liked being close to town. Bed very comfortable
Huge willow tree blocking the view. Kitchen facilties, poor workspace, 3 cups. Sitting room a bit poey and dark because of tree. heating was fixed so we couldn't turn it down so had to keep windows open. bathroom floor caving in because of wet floor cos shower is difficult to direct to stay in bath
