Excellent spa which was warm and inviting.food was very tasty. Altogether a good place for a break. Breakfast could have been hotter.and the shower took a long time to warm up in the early evening.

Breakfast served by hotel staff refused to give two eggs said just one. Went to check in at 3 room was not ready until after 4 which is disgraceful considering check out at 11. When in room not cleaned right bottles of drink from last guests left. Room very basic no mini bar or sitcom and was family room I ws put in so noisy. In the spa surrounded by children and there inflatable rings kilos etc which was not relaxing at all.

The staff were very friendly and were able to offer advice on places we could visit during our trip. the rooms were lovely, spacious and very clean. The only thing that i didn't like was the fact that there was no air con in the room. It was extremely hot and we would have had a better nights sleep if we had a fan to keep us cool!

The bed was extremely comfortable and the leisure facilities, sauna, steam room, pool etc. was absolutely amazing with scenic views over the lough/sea and Slieve Donard Mountain (Mounes). Breakfast was not the best, lacked flavour. Dinning room bit untidy in areas. Staff were ok'ish, but could be much more friendly, customer friendly.

I am a regular at Slieve Donnard, it just gets better and better each time we go. The SPA is amazing, and the views from the SPA are unreal. The breakfast is superb and the staff are all so polite and always happy to help with anything.

Excellent breakfast. Comfortable room with sea view. Friendly staff. Could hear the residents talking in the adjoining room. More sound proofing needed! This was in one of the Resort rooms above the Spa area of the hotel.

The Slieve Donard is a beautiful hotel and we were very impressed during our stay - we had stayed in the hotel a few times before but this time, we were given a room upgrade to stay in one of the new resort rooms and it was absolutely fantastic. The hotel spa facilities are first class and all of the staff are very professional and polite with nothing being too much trouble. The breakfast served each morning is delicious and has more than you could ever imagine or eat in one sitting! We will definitely be back to stay in the Slieve Donard.

The location is outstanding; the natural beauty of the area is second to none; beach walks and long swims in the beautiful pool. The f&b and most of the Front Desk team are super friendly! The food is really good. Highly recommend the scallops and salmon or T-bone steak on the bone. The cheese plate and panna cotta are both very tasty. This hotel is like entering a bubble; it is sheer bliss - if you are looking for relaxation then this is definitely the place for you. The focus on local food produce was a nice touch and certainly put me back in touch with my Northern Irish roots. Friends of ours from the States are staying here soon and I was proud to recommend it! The Front Desk Manager Una, could work on her customer service skills. When checking me in she did not look up from the computer and I felt like it was a hassle for her to do her job.She asked if I wanted to use the credit card on file and I asked to use a visa delta instead, this was met with a huge sigh, I was really putting her out of her way to change the card number. She also did not seem to know what the payment set up with bookings.com was I.E. pre-payment or payment on departure - she had to ask the Asst Front Manager who was very gracious in helping. Its a shame as she was the only complaint I would have about an otherwise outstanding stay!

The staff were extremely helpful at reception and the food was delicious. I did not like the location of our room as we had frosted windows and couldn't see out. (I think we were located in the middle of the hotel).

Very friendly and helpful staff at all times, reception / check in, Lighthouse restaurant, the Spa , breakfast and at the Percy French restaurant. We found the hotel to be very comfortable and just what we wanted for our 25th wedding anniversary! Charging for wifi

The room we were in was really small and basically looked onto a wall. If staying again I would request a room with an open view.

Having a relaxing time and enjoying the spa with the wonderful back drop of the Mournes! When we checked in (2.30pm) there were a number of bottles sitting outside our room obviously from the previous occupants which the maids had cleared out of the room. When we checked out at 11am the next morning they were still there! Not a good look for a hotel of this standard.

Toured the area and walked the Newcastle promenade. Visited Tollymore Forest Park, Annalong, Kilbroney Forest Park (walked the path to Cloghmore), Castlewellan (walked round the lake), Murlough Nature Reserve, Castle Espie. Used the swimming pool in the hotel. Two lights in bedroom not working when we arrived (concierge replaced one of the defective bulbs).
