On the banks of the Lune River, the Holiday Inn Lancaster features an indoor swimming pool and sauna. Just off Junction 34 of the M6 highway, the center of Lancaster is a 30-minute riverside walk...

This 17th century, luxury, boutique hotel is the only 4-star hotel in the center of Lancaster, and is superbly situated in the heart of the city.

The location was perfect for us - close to relatives and the road to the Lake District. We ate only a couple of times at the Lodge, but the food was very good. The cheese and onion pie was wonderful, almost as good as my mother used to make (sorry, my Mum made the BEST cheese and onion pie). The breakfast was big and very satisfying. The room was clean and comfortable (loved the cookies that were provided along with tea and coffee in the room). All in all it was very good value for money. The manager was friendly and very helpful (especially when I locked myself out of our room) and the rest of the staff were equally helpful and friendly. Loved sitting out in the grounds with my book and a glass of wine admiring Morecambe bay! This isn't a four star hotel, but we didn't pay four star rates. Thank you to everybody for a very pleasant stay.
There wasn't anything I disliked about Slyne Lodge.
The room was spacious and the bathroom was excellent for those who would struggle to get in and out of a bath. The chef even went out of his way to add extra garlic to something that I like when asked
There was nothing that I did not like. Everything was excellent, couldn't find a fault anywhere at Slyne Lodge.
The location was ideal for my work. The staff were polite anf friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was outstanding.
Very location to stop and have a drink then stay the night. Good value for money and we had a lovely full English breakfast too . Would go there again .
Excellent food - great value for money. Friendly staff. Comfortable room with everything necessary for night away.
Clean rooms and comfortable
Staff were inhospitable. Breakfast overpriced. For price paid for overnight stay should have included breakfast.
Location, and sleep.
Cleanliness of bathroom, don't get me wrong toilet, bath, tiles were clean, just when in the bath tub, you could see the stains from the cleaning fluid on the underside of sink
Food was excellent
Beds need updates
Separate entrance to room from outside. Reasonable quality of furnishings for the money. Good parking facilities
Not the best bed I have slept in.
the building itself, the interior was attractive and well presented, ambience was good, staff were very helpful and pleasant, our room was spacious with everything we needed, beds and bedding very good [one doesnt always get good bedding in these places!]and outside, the garden/grounds-very pleasant to sit outside. All in all a good experience. would definately stay there again
no negatives at all
Nearness to the motorway.
Inability to have a breakfast before 8.30am
The staff were extremely helpful especaily as I am disable and walking is very very painfull. The meal was lovely we will be booking again in the near future as my son lives 7min. Away
The only fault was As disable a shower was needed instead of the bath that's the only fault
Well kept, BIG family room, great staff, excellent Pub attached.
Beds were uncomfortable, and the shower screen needed looking at, but a few new mattresses and a quick look at the shower would make this place near perfect to stay at.
Warm welcome, family room very spacious with all amenities, good bar and restaurant.
Nice big rooms, adequate towels, big bathroom.
TV was too small for the room. Staff in the restaurant were friendly but attention to detail was poor. Got drinks wrong, forgot to come back and take dessert order, had to go and find them to get the bill as we got tired of waiting.
Good ratio quality price
The member of staff that greeted us thought it more important to serve behind the bar than see to myself and my daughter's who had been stood waiting to be checked in for ten minutes. The floor walking through the pub and restaurant was sticky everything in there was dark and brown. The room was dark and brown, Dusty and out dated. One pillow smelt of sick. It was just hideous. Rang round at least ten other hotels to see if we could leave but they were all booked up. Do not stay here.
Slyne Lodge was well located. My daughter and I were upgraded to the family room with our pet dog which gave us lots of space. The Tea/ Coffee tray was great and well stocked. We ate there one night and thought it was good value.
Thought it was strange that you had to pay in advance, most places take an impression of your credit card so you could add extras and pay at the end of your stay. Breakfast hour was 8.30-9.30 only which with a teenager was a little limiting. And we had been told there was such a choice of breakfast but slightly disappointing- great Full English but no beans, had to ask for jams/marmalade, no choice of brown or white bread for toast.
Staff were nice.
Poor quality bed and mattress. Room dark dismal. Would not recommend.
The general feel of the building. Loved the room, outside, was it an old stable block from days gone by? So comfy, with a lovely view. The carvery was out of this world. Loads of meat and a nice hot meal. Prices at the bar were realistic, for a village pub. Lancaster in general, I fell in love with. People were so friendly.
Nothing. We'll be back!
Dogs accepted. Fabulous cooked breakfast. Very spacious, well appointed room Clean and tidy. Lots of parking.
The family room is very spacious and by far the best we had in the two weeks away. Staff were very friendly and food and ales were of excellent quality.
Breakfast was too pricey...we went for the continental option as neither of the children will eat enough to justify the full English price. Suggest a child friendly price would help with this.
Location and privacy
Cobwebs and spiders in corner of bedroom. Mattress needs renewing _ sags in middle.
Plain and simple but excellent value for money. Everyone had a very good sleep and we could see the sea from one window. Very large room for four.
Would like wifi in rooms and biscuits with tea and coffee. Decor could do with brightening up - very brown.
