Pleasant accommodation , good food, friendly staff, well located
It was in a nice location and very quiet at night. The rooms were clean and the bed was quite comfortably.
We got back about 9pm to have a drink there. They had the televison in the lounge showing some rugby and it was that loud you could not hear yourself speak. Perhaps they could have still showed the rugby but at a lower volume and aslo have some back ground music on as not everyone wants to lisen to sport. Also we did not realise that the bar shut early and was not left open for residents
We enjoyed our stay as the staff were very friendly, the restaurant was really busy and the atmosphere was good. The bar had a great choice of drinks and there was a good choce of real ale. The breakfast was awesome and really set us up for the day. The room we stayed in was spacious.
Struggled a little with the size of the bed, but this is probably because we have a king size at home.
comfortable bed and excellant food
Convenient location. Excellent breakfast. Friendly helpful staff.
The oldie worldie feel of the place.
We arrived quite late in the evening, to find our room was freezing as the windows had been left open and the heaters switcthed off! Also, we booked in for dinner, but felt the food was overpriced for the quality and quantity and the presentation could have been better.
Friendly, helpful staff. Good food traditional pub atmosphere - fantastic value for money. Will definaty use again!
Good location.spacious room.good food
Our room was not cleaned or beds made and the quilt on one bed had shampoo type substance on it.
staff ecellent. Food a lot and very good. Room comfortable and adequate. Good parking. Good location. Good value for the cost.
Decor in rooms a little tired.
Staff very helpful and friendly
The value this lodge offers is fantastic. We only stayed one night and we had a fantastic sleep and this was followed by an excellent cooked hot breakfast with excellent service. Our room was clean and ha everything we needed. I have read previous comments and would say if you want five star then pay for it. If you want comfort in a character lodge then this works.
The friendly staff, and the wonderful real fire in the lounge. I enjoyed the pizza evening, too.
TV not working. Room just a little cold.
We have always enjoyed staying at Slyne Lodge, especially the breakfasts. Sadly we had one this time which was probably the worst we've ever experienced. A great pity!
The staff were really good, they had storage for the bikes, the food was great and quickly served,
The price was very good and the breakfast excellent
The bad pull out onto the main road where the car park for the room was, main car park though was fine.
Great value for money. clean, and friendly staff. very quite and pacefull not to far from city centre
Lovely room Friendly staff Helpful staff Cheap rate Quiet Great pub atmosphere
Nothing......everything above expectations
Great Staff Great Room Very pet friendly Very clean Nice surroundings Great value for money
Breakfast was just a little cold
breakfast was until 10am, went at 9.30am and they had run out of beans and were very slow at replenishing the buffet.
Cosy. convenient. parking. Accessible. location.
Lack of extra bedding. skinny duvet - i should have left the heating on!
We were made welcome. Room was a good size for 4 adults and the beds were fairly comfortable. Plenty of fluffy white towels! Plenty of choice for breakfast and freshly cooked!
Breakfast times were wrong!! Quoted as 8-10 on Saturday but was all packed away when we arrived at 9.45!
There was virtually no breakfast left at 9am and what was left was cold
Food was plentiful, tasty and excellent value for money.
Staff not over friendly and the room had a musty smell.
Checked in at nine, took a couple of minutes then asked for the restaurant and they had stopped serving.
The restaurant and the old oak beams. The space inside the family room. A great restaurant with wide range of meals matched by the variety of beers and wines.
The bed and breakfast experience. Lack of signage in the car park. We were excited about staying in the old stables but sadly let down by the lock on the room door. It looked like it had previously been broken into!!!, dead wasps in the bedroom and cracked tiles in the bathroom. Sleep was near impossible. I had to move from the double bed because when either of us moved we ended up in the crashing into each other in the middle of the bed, Also we seemed to be on a slope with blood rushing to our head. I can appreciate it's an old building but you need to have a level bed. I moved to one of the single beds but was unable to sleep due to the amount of springs digging my back. Breakfast wasn't any better. The milk was warm and the cooked breakfast was cold. We had to ask for butter and there was no marmalade or jam to be seen. If you want an excellent meal in lovely surroundings you could do far worse than Slyne Lodge but a bed and breakfast it's not.
