Slightly erratic service in the dining room but it was unexpectedly busy so that's understandable.
Rooms are a little dated and the light brown/dark brown bed linen feels a bit 1980's (tho it's all very clean). I think a little refurbishment of the rooms would be appreciated by many of the visitors (judging by other comments). The bathrooms have been done up to a vg standard.
The 9.00am start for breakfast is too late for me as I usually need to be away more promptly. It's a good breakfast, though, and well priced too.
Musak in the dining room was too loud for my liking but I know that's a really minor point.
I will be back and, as always, I shall look forward to a stay at Slyne Lodge. As I have said elsewhere, it suits me really well and I am always relieved to book a room as I know what to expect from numerous repeat stays.
Quiet location, 10 mins to M6, clean, comfortable and pretty good value. More than adequate for a short stay tho' not really a hotel for a romantic weekend away except for use as a base. Very generous servings in the bar/dining room (tho' mains are better than the puddings, overall) and also good value for money. £16 will buy you 3 courses and a drink. I stay here about twice a year for two nights each time and have done so for the last 5-6 years. It always suits me really well.
