Clean and comfortable
No Lift. We each had to carry 2 suitcases up 3 floors! Please notify clients in advance - we would not have booked if we had known.
price location staff friendliness 24 hour reception kitchenette quiet
bathroom (teeny) didn't empty bin or change sheets or towels
Not finding the lift until the next morning - my room was on the third floor!
Leaving a booking a little late it was the cheapest venue we could find for accommodation in August. It was clean and sufficient facilities.
Wifi is not free and seems to be designed with packages for students.
The price was very expensive for basic accommodation
An enjoyable stay
No free wifi!
Comfortable and spotless.
No tea or coffee.
Clean, comfy, kitchen facilities, good shower, ensuite bathroom, lots of storage facilities. Would definitely stay there again
Location -bit of a walk from the centre
Very good location, friendly staffs and good price. It has a kitchen and the bathrooms are totally adapted.
It doesn't have tv.
I didn't find the lift until the next morning, after lugging my suitcase up three flights of stairs! Could have been signed better, or I should have asked but was too tired!
The room was clean.
No TV. Long walk into town. Limited facilities in area. Small bed pushed against the wall. Bathroom was a plastic box. Shower fell off the wall. Leaking dripping toilet. Noisy from outside. No air conditioning and couldn't open the window more than 2 cms. I didn't know this was vacated student accommodation and not a hotel of sorts.
room, location, kitchen, shower, friendly helpful staff
only criticism is too much use of cleaning fluids, very strong throughout!
I was in Edinburgh for the Festival. I was on my last week of holiday form from Vancouver. The IQ was in walking distance of all festival events and tourist attractions, yet far enough away for a quiet stay. The rooms were clean and efficient and the kitchen was clean and fairly well equipped. I liked that everything was new: the walk in shower; the desk, shelves and drawers gave a spacious feel; the single bed was nice and wide; an overhead light had switches righter by the bed; the windows were large and opened to let in fresh air while staying secure.
Noise from the hallway echoed and amplified in the rooms. I would have liked a toaster, a hairdryer and a kettle in my room.
Good location, 10 min walk from Grass market Street. Room size.
location to haymarket station
Great location and staff
There was no free wifi anywhere in the hotel
Localization, clean room, well equipped kitchen.
Very small room and bathroom and price, too expensive!
The room was small but very cleverly organized. I liked that there was a fully equipped kitchen for 5 rooms to use. The dormitory feel of it was attractive to me. Edinburgh accomodation can be very expensive during festival season and Smart IQ was great value for the money.
A bit far away from the high street and those tourist attractions, if ypu are there as a tourist, about a 45 min. walk. But it was close to traverse theatre and filmhouse where my main activities were located so it was ok for me.
Great room (clean and comfy bed), kitchen, location & price.
Doors which self close with a slam. Noises from central courtyard.
Location Room Kitchen
No free wifi
Clean and convenient location
No tv or wifi. Need to make guests aware of this before they book.
Bed and bedding + clean bathroom
kitchen wasn't as clean as it could be
The bar was never open
this accommodation isn't the height of luxury but it is clean, comfortable and the studio flat in which I stayed was of a good size, plenty of room for I or 2 people. as a woman on my own I felt safe would recommend this for any one who wanted a base from which to explore Edinburgh. It is no more than 10/15 minutes walk from the castle end of Princes street .Also there is a supermarket just a few minutes away. No television but if you take a lap top internet connection is available at a reasonable cost.
