Didn't get good sleep
One of the receptionists is very unhelpful, unfriendly, very slow in responding, just ignoring guests when they standing in front of the reception!! Rooms are small and crowded. Heating is quite hot during night, which made it difficult to sleep.
location is perfect
I've been to b&b all over the UK but this was my first B&B experiance in London. Began with checking in,a group of drunk people were in reception area making alot of noise blocking the corridors without control. The hotel only had one person managing the reception and loby at a time. Took me +15min to check in. I was given bed sheets and covers at the reception and the blanket was on bed in the room. The blanket was REALY dirty. The 4 beds room was like 3x2 metres. Not that clean. Poor ventilation. The water passing in pipes in the walls throughout the stay sounded like having a jet engine in the room! No socket at the bed not even a single sucket in the whool room. Any how the room only costs about 15 so fair quality for such a price
really cheap. Notting hill, baker street, Hyde Park are in walk distance. Breakfast basic but acceptable.
the facilities are not agreeable, limited charge places in the dorm... no wifi on the first floor... so I had to go to the public area to charge my cell phone and use the internet... and the shower room was not very clean...
localisation, tasty breakfast, friendly staff
-absurd small rooms -we stayed one night, have no selection of beds and have to sleep on last bed-floor -we have no place on the floor for our stuff because there was not enough of space for all the guests -one bed was not clean up, we found foul little box with pineapple there -only bedsheet and pillowcase, no duvet cover
Good price and great location
There were two plusses to staying at this hostel: the location close to hyde park, oxford street and the west end. There was a kitchen with microwave so you could prepare your own meals.
Ok there are several negative points to this hostel: quality of sleep was poor because the beds were small (im 1.86mts) the lights were constantly switched on throughout the night as a new guest arrived they would have to make their own bed which is not possible in the dark. The front desk porter came in twice around 5am for no reason and switched on the lights. There is no free wifi in the bedrooms (£1.00 per day) and if you need a locker by the bed thats £1.50 per day. Want to use a knife and fork thats a £1.00 deposit on each item. Bedrooms are smaĺl. I was disapointed that as soon as i presses the yes button on booking.com the money was extracted from my account most hostels in london dont do that.....Overall i felt that the smart part was for the ease and comfort of the staff and not the customer.
You can hardly beat price in combination with location! I like the little curtains in front of each bed for privacy and light. When you're on the top bunk however, you still get blinded by the light from above... There is tea and toast (or cornflakes). It's not much but it's something to get you started on for the day ahead. If you're only staying 1 or 2 nights and only want a bed for the night and not spend much, stay here and shower later...
No bed lights but most definitely very poor hygiene throughout the hostel. Disgusting smelling and looking toilets/showers. Hardly any washing basins. No (fresh) airflow to speak of in the dorm nor canteen. A long queue for checkout...
Nothing..except Badr the good man
Many things are very ugly in this non smart hostel
The location was great. I also liked the staff very much - they were very helpful. It's a good place to crash if you are looking for a cheap place for a night or two.
The rooms are small with high bunk beds - it is fairly difficult to get up to the highest one. Yet, the beds have little curtains to give some privacy.
Easily accessable by train,,,
not avaibility of wifi in rooms, breakfast has very little time, commone area dont have much places for charging.
ensuite toilet, but they were so small cheap
3 floor bunk bed with no rooms for bags small living room/reception
the hotel even charge for luggage storage even you check in
No lift, everything need money, especially locker, it is very impossible!!!!
The hostel is at a good location with two underground stations nearby, nearby markets and shops to get some food and basic needs. Though it is somewhat in a central area, the rooms especially facing the backwards can be considered quiet regarding the traffic noises.
The kitchen facilities are inadequate; only one small fridge for the whole hostel, which was always full and had no space for new-comers, and a single cooker which usually one person could use at a time. The bathrooms and toilets were also too small; the ventilations stopped constatntly and it was too hard to breathe while taking a shower. The triple-bunk beds were somewhat small, the rooms too hot that we had to keep the window open all night though it was winter with 5degrees C outside. Common areas are small and sometimes you can't find a place to sit. In short, the hostel is all right if you need a bed for a short time, but not a good place for a peaceful visit for those searching for a bit of comfort.
Great location. Curtains on every bed. Cheap on the weekdays (but prices seem to go up on the weekends).
Staff seem a bit unfriendly. Showers were poor - no hot water on one day, barely warm on another day. Breakfast was not very good.
Price, close supermarket
Stayed in a 20 bed dorm, so can't expect much room. However, many other hostels have more space for less beds. The toilets were very very cramped, I estimate about 1x1 meter.
The dorm is cramped. No personal touch whatsoever, well, what do I expect? It's London.
There was too hot and dush is awfull. Too many levels without lift.
fair price, good location, breakfast included
small "lobby" that was the only room with wifi; very claustrophobic
I ended up booking a room for same sex as me but waking up in a room full of guys :( so didn't get what I asked for.
Cheap, helpful staff, location next to hyde park.
Pretty grim place. Old building, cramped room, loud noise from road, no plug sockets worked in the room.
Classic youth hostel on a good address.
Are the bunk beds made for midgets?
