We had to pay 12 pounds to have our lugage stored as it was imposible to carry it to our room due to the high amount of stairs to get to our room.
Location was great and staff was very friendly
The breakfast is way too simple. Cereals, jam and bread everyday. I only had it once, the other days I bought breakfast for myself. But overall I recommend the place.
It has an excellent location, close to the tube stations and supermarkets, and yet in a quiet street. The curtain of the bed gives privacy and darkness. The staff is nice and you can leave your baggage in a safe room the last day.
I didn't like the fact that the heater in the room didn't come on.
Liked that it is situated in a central area.
The shower rooms don't have warm water...Rooms are really full of humans therefore the smell is disgusting. Honestly, I would'nt suggest to anybody this hostel.
I have been working for 10 years in the hostel business and I swear that I have never seen a hostel like this one. Not only dirty, noisy and disgusting, even more, they try to steal yours 10 pounds that you have to pay as a deposit. KEEP IN MIND: You have to pay 10 pounds in addition "as a deposit" + the price of your reservation through Booking.com
Having to strip my sheets and carry down all my luggage wasn't ideal.
just a few minutes to Hyde park and a nice central location to some tourist things. Room wasn't full which was an advantage! 15 bed room with 2 people!
Accomodation is really basic: dorms are very crowded and there's little room to store your luggage or hang your coat. The separation between beds is a mere thin bulkhead, and though curtains are welcome to keep your sleep intimate, it certainly won't be soundproof. Surely it depends on the fellow travellers you share your dorm with, but because of the large number of people within a dorm, be prepared to expect noise disturbances late at night and early in the morning. So for light sleepers earplugs might come in handy! The equipment is a bit light too: very few outlets in the dorm and only a couple of them in the breakfast room. Bathrooms are very narrow, so be careful not to make too wide moves when you're in! Too few bathrooms compared to the number of people staying: you often have to go up or downstairs to find one vacant. The flush to one of the toilets wasn't working without notice from the staff. Two showers were closed for maintenance or whatever, the good thing is that it was shown on the doors, but it meant going elsewhere to find others available. Breakfast is really cheap too: One kind of cereals only, no hot chocolate nor cappucinos, jam and butter are served in ridiculously small portions instead of common individual boxes. Do not expect genuine fruit juices, those available are fruit-flavoured waterish beverages. More choice would be appreciated: eggs, tomatoes, sausage, bacon, cheese, pastries, yoghurts or fruits for instance?
Really cheap hostel (£10 a night). Very convenient location for those looking for a stroll in Hyde Park (5 minutes walk from it) or attending a gig at Royal Albert Hall (15 minutes on foot when you cross through Hyde Park). Very close to Queensway tube station too.
There were no power points in the room.
The bathroom was clean, the curtains by the bed came in handy.
a few things: 1) they charge you extra if you use card 2)£10 deposit for the key (i think is too much) 3) you have to pay for your locker even if you have your own padlock 4)wi fi didn't work properly during my stay 5) the room is too small for 12, the bed are bunk bed of 3 beds 6) only 2 sockets for the room for 12 people!!! 7)2.50 for leave 1 bag in the cloack room
The environment is very cool, the people is nice and there is common areas where you can talk with people
it is impossible to clean your hands... when you push the tap, only 1 second flow the water and stop... can not fulfilled the hand:) the space in the wc is too small, can not stay and close the door behind....no soap, no paper , no locker(2 gbp) no luggage room at check out-will pay again other 2 gbp, no towel, no no no stay there
Not enough power points in the dorms. Being charged to store my bag after check out. Wifi wouldn't work unless you are in the reception area
I paid for 9bed dorm but got a 15-bed dorm. Not impressive.
Friendliness of the staff is good.
only can charge in the dining room
The free breakfast, was a little simple, the same Toast, jam and corn flakes everyday, yet you have full use of the kitchen so you can cook your own if that get boring.
The Staff are great, the other guests you meet there and the location, One minute by foot your at the bays-water tube station , 5 minutes your in Hyde park. This is not a five star hotel, however you gain much more by being able to meet people...from all over the world who are friendly, kind and mostly Considerate.
the old facility and not very cleaning room very noisy
good location with very cheap price
Everything, especially the bad too small, too dark, the toile is too small that I can't turn around, the room smelt bad, without fresh air, too hot, breakfast is not good, less charger to charge my phone, it is the most terrible hostel I ever stayed.
I'd like to say nothing.. But there's a lot of extras.. There's an unmentioned security deposit of £10 per person, there's a charge for bed sheets if you want clean ones. Guests can be quite noisy, in our room there were 2 noisy people, but I guess that's to be expected.
Location was incredibly central! Absolutely perfect. 2 minutes walk from queensway on the central line or 1 minute away from Bayswater on the circle and district line. staff were great! So friendly and welcoming! Never stayed in a hostel before, so it's a great first experience!
comfortable clean and friendly
Can get a bit cramped in rooms and a bit noisy with people coming and going. The hostel needs to get control over young groups of school trips who come to stay. They are very noisy kids and are obviously drinking alcohol into the late hours. Need to have a bit of respect for other users.
I could not really fault the hostel, good value for money and you meet interesting people too.
Could be a lot cleanner...but in a room of 20 you get what you expect and pay for
The location as well as the improvements in the breakfast (Last time was awfull, this time pretty great)
Pretty much couldn't sleep. A room with 20 beds.. not the best idea. Spend the extra money and get less beds in the room.
The staff are lovely and for a hostel in London it is kept quite clean.
Reception stuff one of them not all
- The 20 beds room is very small (20m2 for twenty people -> 1m2/pax) but still ok for the price and thanks of the curtains on each bed - Showers were very old, old sanitaries
- The location, not too far of the center and next to the subway - Unlimited breakfast - Nice common rooms - Friendly staff
There are way too less facilities for the mass of people staying there. You have to pay or at least leave a deposit for all little things extra like cutlery. It doesn't feel safe.
It may be really near to a tube station and the city centre, but that is not all which is important!
The staff isn't very nice and they're not smiley as expected. The breakfast is horrible, you have only bread, jam, butter, 2 fake "natural" juices and coffe and corn flakes. That's it!
The location is simply perfect, you have 2 tube stations very near and a lot of bus stations.
