The rooms are tiny and horrible. 3 level bunk beds. 9 people in a 3x3 room with no ventilation, heating or power-points. Never going to go back there. If I had not paid already, I would have gladly spent another 100 pounds and stayed in the 4 star hotel opposite.

It's a great hostel, the staff is very nice, but the bed isn't confortable and it's too noisy! The location is perfect, because is just in front of Hyde Park, next to the Metro and bus station. The breakfast is reasonable, but it finishes too early, and if you arrives nexto to the time it finishes, the girls of the kitchen starts to take it out from the table! In general, is a good place if you are young and don't mind too much about these things!

Reception staff are very helpful & supportive, specially a girl named "Martina". Overall I was satisfied of my stay with them. Value for money I would say :) The lift which didn't go to the 2nd floor & I had to drag my luggage upto the 2nd floor :(

Through the google website (1) First thing is its displayed name in Large letters is different to "Smart Hyde Park View". This lead me to go in circles around that place. Hotel must address this issue.

I have stayed here before and found it adequate for my needs. The receptionist was charming and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable; and had a pleasant view, which I had requested. My friend couldn't find anywhere to put her clothes and thought the room on the small side. Breakfast was a little unadventurous eg no tomato, cucumber or lettuce to go with ham and cheese; and with no fruit juices offered. It still needs a clear sign saying that it's the SMART HYDE VIEW instead of CRAVEN GARDENS HOTEL and I'm English, so not sure it can be found easily.

Central location. Easy to access transport networks or walk. Room very small and cramped for 6 people, particularly with big bags.

Excellent hostel!! Room is very clean and comfortable. Staff are kind. And it is good location for London sightseeing. There are some stores around Paddington station. Cafe, many kind of country restaurants, fast foods, current exchangers, noodle bar, souvenir stores, and small super market. And excellently, we can use free wi-fi in this hotel everywhere. currency exchange rate is not good. we should use another exchanger store around Paddington station.

The location was central and ideal for getting around, being near bus and tube stops, and within walking distance of some key tourist areas: and yet it was on a quiet side street. The twin room had a lovely view and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and functional. Apart from one party of guests next to us who slammed doors in the nightI, the stay was quiet and peaceful and I would definately use this hotel again. We walked up and down Leinster Terrace foe ages, unable to find the Smart Hide Park View or no 16. That's becauseit's advertised with a huge sign saying Craven Gardens Hotel on the front! On arrival, my booking.com paperwork seemed inadequete, and we were asked for passport/ driving licence, which neither of us had brought, so it was a bit uncomfortable. It was resolved by another member of staff. The reason is that it doubles as a back packers hostel and they automatically use passports. Continental breakfast was a bit lack lustre and bar staff not overly helpful.

The hotel/hostel is right on the central tube line, making it easy to get around town. The area it is in has many more hotels near the tube station (Queensway) so there are lots of place to eat, exchange currency, etc. It's also walking distance from shops in Kensington and museums in South Kensington. Our private room was clean, included towels and was comfortable enough. We did get a drink at the bar downstairs (after all surrounding places closed at 11:30) and reception was excellent - arranging a taxi (to Paddington Station for Heathrow Express) for 5:30 am and giving us a personal wake up call, following the automated one to make sure we didn't miss our flight out. The elevator - sorry, lift - was very slow and the luggage scale did cost a pound - but overall that is inconsequential.

I' ve already used better hostels than this one . It's very simple but we didn't have any problem. If your intention is to get a place only to sleep, it's a good option. The place is very good, near the Ryde Park. There is a locker in the room and a bathroom in the room too. Close to the Subway and bus. The breakfast is too simple and the rooms are a little muffled because stays in the underground.

That it's next to Hyde Park. This is the kind of hotel where you have to share the room with other 3 people and, still, the price is quite high.

“The staff was friendly, the room was clean and everything worked just fine! The lockers were big and the room had an own bathroom with shower (which was extremely clean all the time). The location was also very good, not far from the Paddington station. I can recommed this hostel to everyone, I stayed in the six-beded dorm (I wanted to be in a girl-dorm and that was arranged) and even though my roomates were kind of loud sometimes I enjoyed my visit very much. The view from he 6th floor was wonderful.” Heidi, Joensuu |
