the showers had hot water........... and that's it........... the location was nice.................................... and that's it....................
ugggh. They had sooooooo many people there, it was like a campus fully packed with students. And the wifi worked poorly and it was only on the ground floor(booking another flight and so on was easier in other cafes). Also, the staff was polite only in a stiff way, no friendly offer to help with the luggage upstairs, no friendly chat at all. And there was no bed lamp to light on when the others are asleep. And the bathroom was activated with a sensor, so you cannot turn it off after a late shower.... You had to stand the noise... There was no elevators...... the stairway on the other way around was steep and tilted........The breakfast was not much................ Only the location was ok for walking but I would have prefered to go to another hostel a bit far from this place with better facilites.........
- great location - acceptable value for this money - new showers and toilets (between no. 100 and 200 rooms) - nice staff - breakfast (simple, but you had at least something to eat in the morning)
- windows: opened only for 20 cm, didn't close - no contact via mail or phone
stuff members were really nice and helpful.
i specified my requirement while I was making the booking but it turns out that the four people room was unisex and quite inconvenient for me personally.
very good location, easy to walk everywhere and excellent transport links. only cost £10 a night so excellent value for money. toilets/showers always seemed clean and never crowded. staff seemed nice. free breakfast was adequate, simple toast and cereal plus tea/coffee.
no real issues, however would strongly suggest bringing an eye mask and ear plugs in general. also have to pay for under bed lockers, would be nice if this was included but the price in general was cheap so can't complain.
kitchen was well equipped, located near a tube stop and close to supermarkets.
not enough showers for number of guests. had to line up each morning for about 20mins as all downstairs showers were set to one temperature, cold!
The location was excellent. It was also the cleanest hostel I have ever visited.
During my stay there was loud construction everywhere in the hostel - it was unavoidable upstairs or downstairs. The wifi connection was terrible.
cheap in the center
crouded not so clean in the showers
the location was ideal.
no bath towels at the room. we had to buy them.
The price and location are great.
This place needs some serious renovation. The room itself was alright (albeit a bit small), but the showers and common room are not in great condition. Nevertheless, this is probably one of the cheapest places to stay in the city centre, so if you're really travelling on a low budget and set your expectations low, you'll manage.
Location is great, staff there are nice and helpful
airing is not enough in the basement room.
Central. Well organised.
Breakfast was poor.
Good for location
No shared shower & toilets in rooms unless you upgrade to what they call 'ensuite' which they advertise for £2 extra per night but in reality they will come up with a 'no availability' excuse and charge a lot more extra for another room (£20 extra for 4 nights?) Otherwise, open public showers within hostel provide no privacy whatsoever (like showering in the street). Also some windows in the hostel don't lock (basement rooms).
location, near the city centre
It`s seems that during the day in a common room were homeless people and sometimes stay for a night there. Poor breakfast.
Typical hostel, located round the corner from Russel Square tube and direct link to LHR.
Bare room, just bunk beds and toilet/shower.
Location and value for money
Reservation; they tend to overbook! I booked 6-bed dorm but I had to stay in a 10-bed dorm for the first 2 days of my 6 days.
Although I was in a 14 person room it didn't feel like so because the rooms were divided in such a way that gave me privacy. The beds were comfortable, sheets were clean and I liked having the curtain. Another huge plus for this hostel is the amazingly low price (rare for London) for such a good location. Toilets were clean.
Room had little space for luggage so I slept with it on my bed. Didn't bother me but may bother someone who is larger. Shower only has one temperature and I found it a bit too cold. Breakfast ends at 9.30 which is a bit too early and also the cleaning staff are practically rushing you out of there when they start mopping into you. Apart from that, the facilities were average but for the price you pay you cannot complain.
Friendly and nice receptionists but poor attitude of front door security guard with a bad manner.
There were big sliding lockers under the beds: my 55x35x20cm cabin trolley fit inside perfectly, as well as my purse; and there was still room for more stuff!! For £1 a night it is worth it, considering how crammed the 18-bed dorm was!!
The Free WiFi was available only at the common room and the signal was very poor. On some nights I didn't even manage to connect to the hostel network, which made planning my itinerary for the following day difficult.
size / privacy of beds best rooms are the ones with less beds
new showers were great addition but last time i stayed hot water did not work not so keen on the breakfast
very slow wifi, no plug near bed. poor breakfast with short time.
the receptionists are not passionate or even welcomed. The room is really crowded with unpleasant smell.
the only advantage: helpful reception staff, only people in the reception, who were nice
Wanna book a place here? count: the price for a bed + 10£ deposit for a key + 1£ for a baggage storage (staying one night, then it's two days, so they want to charge 2£) + locker/closet 1,5£. No towel? They have no towels, but they can sell you for 5£. Shampoo? No, they are selling only savon - in a cube. Breakfast? How bed, tasteless, ladies who are cleaning and doing breakfasts (the same) speaking loud Russian in front of you, I had a feeling that they made fun of customers (I understood some words). Much rumour - they pretend to clean all the time, to fix something, but still it's a general mess. Just one basin in a room with 6 toilets and 6 shower cabins, people (both sexes) waiting in a queue to the basin to brush the teeth, it all looks funny. Free WiFi? Yes, but they forget to write on a website that this is working only downstairs close to the reception, not in the room, and every 5 minutes you are redirected to a website where you must confirm login and password - horrible!!
