I didn't like having to check out, just to check into the same room again on that same day. It was a lot of hassle to pack up, just to be put back in the same room to unpack again.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. They liked to chat and get to know you as a person which I thought was really nice.
Noisy. Smelly room.
It's quite good, given the amount of money you pay, you really can't expect more. But everything is fine. Excellent location.
The bathroom is a bit old and dirty. Wifi could not be connected at the dorm but the lobby.
Staff were nice and clear instructions have been made. The toilets were also very clean.
Not told about additional fee to hire a locker. No cards accepted.
Friendly, basic but CHEAP place to stay in centre of London.
In the showers was mold on the ceiling and in the room on the wall.
Never take a top bunk. They get extremely extremely warm at night. Staff were functional, but not particularly friendly. Living quarters are cramped. The atmosphere isn't as good as other locations, and draws a younger crowd.
One of the cheapest hostels in Inner London. Fantastic location: 20 min walk to Leicester Sq, 40 to Westminster, 1/2 block from Tube Station
Very small bed for a 1,90 meters guy
Few toilets, not enough power sockets, too warm rooms, alcohol allowed in the common area. Let's face it. If you're not a budget 18-22yo student, better pick another hostel (if you're a budget 28yo person)
Some rooms are of a higher standard than others. Not enough power sockets in rooms. Poorly trained in professional security staff on the entrance door.
The girls on reception are nice. Showers were hot.
The beds were really small (I am 1,78 m and quite skinny and almost didn't fit in the bed) and wifi was not working.
A good location and good value for money.
the non refundable of fund, should incase the visitor couldnt make it.
the rooms looked well managed and worths the pay.
Good value for money!
location okay, poor staff and wifi, tell us no booking by booking.com just for one night
Tried to charge the phone at night but the extension lead was really far away. Couldn't find any pug sockets. The beeping of the doors and lockers was really noisy.
The communal room was good and friendly, it was also spacious
Room was bathroom was very small. Hardly any space for luggage. Wifi only worked downstairs.
Friendly staff, clean hostel, great location!
Really dirty, impolite and ugly. I was travelingin south america and sudest of asia, in the more poors areas, paying 1€ for sleep and was a better quality breakfast, clean, and polite. I never have seen some hostel like this one.
The hostel is in a good ubication
3 level bank bed?!
So dirty Dormitory too noisy (it is under the street) too cosy Deposit of 10 pounds needed
Cramped rooms - three levels of beds, only narrow space next to it. No proper place to wash your teeth - only small basin in the room and in the bathroom.
Good location - close to metro. Big common room.
Check in is such a long computer process for the dump.*Pay in cash if you use your card there is a charge! Really? Yes! When finished you will be handed your bed sheets.*A 10 pound key deposit is required You will be given a card with the length of you stay to put on any bed open in the room. *If you require a locker make sure you tell them unless you have to come back down to activate it. The lockers are 1 pound day! In a 10 bed room there was only 2 outlets. * The bathroom and showers are co ed meaning with guys and girls share the toilets and showers. The free breakfast is a joke bread butter milk and some sort of cereal. Then upon check out you have to bring down your card and bed sheets. This should be 7-10 pounds a night any higher pay a little more and stay at the generator hostel a few blocks away much nicer accommodations. Shame on you Smart Russell Square!
The only thing good about this place is oxford circus is a 15 minute walk away. Ive stayed at all kinds of budget hostels but this one is the worst.
staff attitude never felt so unsafe and uncomfortable in hostel before!
Vey good location!
Too many beds in one dormitory, not very good showers, you also need to push the button every 2 seconds, poor facilities in the kitchen but I paid just 11£ for a night, so could get over for that money, but I wouldn't stay there for more than 1 night.
Very good location
These are more nit-picky details, but they're important for someone going there to know: -There are no towels in the hostel. Anywhere. Bring a hand towel and a bath towel or else you'll have to go buy one. -The Wi-fi can get a bit spotty with an entire hostel on their phones at night, but is usually ok. Just don't depend on it for business. -Breakfast is toast, jam, butter, cornflakes, milk, OJ, tea, and instant coffee. If you want something nicer either go out to a restaurant or grab something from the Tesco across from the Russell Square Underground line.
The hostel is directly behind Russel Square station, meaning that a traveler from Heathrow can grab the Picadilly line and go directly to the hostel in a single nonstop one hour trip. The place itself is within walking distance of the British Museum (just 2 blocks away), and all of central London. The facilities are acceptable, staff are friendly and helpful, and for the price you really can't afford to go anywhere else if you're on a budget.
