The location was very nice: right next to an underground station and a 24-hour Tesco. Breakfast was included. The curtains on the beds were a big plus and there was plenty of showers. Over all the hostel was good and clean but with a bit too many small faults.
WiFi didn't work properly and on top of that it was free only in the common room. There was only two plugs in a room for eight people. The basement showers didn't stay on for more than 10 secs at a time and the water was almost too warm.
no internet in room breakfast extremely basic
Bathrooms - showers that turn of every 10 seconds Rooms - in the room of 12 the window was deliverately limited leaving a gap of only 5cm, which is not enough for that many people
The beds are extremely narrow and stuffed on top of each other, giving a feeling of prison cell. They constantly try to get cash, charging you for using your card even if it is debit card. I had to go all the way to the bank with all my luggage to get cash and come back to pay for the key deposit which is a strange practice.
The smell in the hostel is terrible, the chitken was poor and without cutlery, the breakfast uneatble the bed too small for people what else? Please choose another place!!!!
Price Location Free Wifi Available staff
Noises : Earplugs are mandatory in these kinds of hostels
The kingness of the staff
the equipements of the kitchen
Good location, toilets and showers are clean, has a free hairdrier, curtains on the side of the beds.
There was no hot water in the morning in one of the showers I went in (my friend had hot water in an other one). Continental breakfast is basic toast and some cheap butter and jam or cereal.
The location is good, close to the Russell Square subway station, in a nice part of London. My dorm was on the third floor with no elevator, but it had only 4 bunk beds and an enclosed bathroom. There are curtains for privacy on the side of the bunks. There are lockers available under the bunks, but they charge 1.5 pounds extra to use them. Free internet downstairs and quite a few people in the common room at night, so you can make friends if you want.
If you have heavy luggage, staying in the smaller dorm on the third floor is probably not for you. The promised breakfast was poor - slices of mushy white bread, cheap jam, tasteless instant coffee, and some cereal and milk. Don't even bother, unless you are really desperate.
Location is good
Dirty room, dirty toilettes, $5 for towel (really????)
** PLEASE AVOID ** The customer service was rubbish from even before I got there, it was rubbish when I got there and I expect when I try and get my money back for the carbuncal it will be rubbish again
Near to the tube station and close to the British Museum, Oxford Street, etc.
There's no lift, so it's quite hard to bring the suitcase to the upper floor. Some roommates are a bit noisy at night.
It's just an ideal hostel as I suppose. Large common space, with people gathered there.
The heating in our room didn't work and the room is so small.... So cold at night. And the bed is not stable...
The location is very central, almost all the attractions can be reached on walk. I really enjoy the time in this hotel!
The room is in the basement which is very cold and damp.
Good access to the underground, eateries nearby, good to have curtains for privacy for each bed. Brekkie was okay. Spacious dining area. Staff were patient.
Sound proof was poor, very noisy by the corridor. Bed is too small/narrow, I'm a small person and I hit myself several times during the night.
It was ideal and so cheap and clean and location etc ??All boxes ticked ??Thank you !!
During my stay at the hotel I fell victim to a steal .My loaf of bread disappeared from a plastic bag ,which I found rip opened in the morning ,from one of those big fridges ,and also somebody ate my humous and opened and ate my goat's cheese.I Do not find it funny at all .Please do your best to cctv the kitchen and common room areas as such incidents my happen in the future .By the way ,I reported the incident to the reception staff 17/11/2014,which was the next day after my arrival at the hostel.
not enough room for 18 people's bags in the room late night noise as guests went to bed loudly at 3/4am
Beds comfortable. Ensure bathroom very clean.
Pillowcases didn't seem to get changed in between customers. Not enough plates, cutlery etc.
Location is very good, close to station and Hyde Park and underground. Good friendly staff in reception.
Room was very small.
Location, Value for money, curtains in bunkbeds for privacy and protect from light while sleeping
Having to cross descend 2 floors to showers. Having to pay for lockers.
close to the tube station grocery store nearby beds have curtains
The miniature room had six TRIPLE bunk beds in it, no air. Very little space between the beds, can barely fit through. Claustrophobic. Their is no free room for baggage so people had to put it in the aisle between the beds. There was no room to walk between the beds!!! We had to sleep with part of our luggage ON our beds! Very loud, can hear slamming of doors all through the night.
-The exterior of the building is quite nice. -It's comfier than the street.
-Dorms in the basement feel very claustrophobic. -Crowded (could be a positive) -Charge to store bags.
it's good value for money when you're looking for a place to stay in central London
While having booked a 4 bed room I was told that I had been downgraded to a 6 bed room for the same price. Only after saying I wanted to speak to the manager they suddenly said that it was a mistake. Like others I didn't receive any pillow case, that's just not acceptable and disgusting
Location is very convenient. Nice to meet people from different countries! Six beds girl's dorm has a bathroom in the room.
No elevator, don't bring big suitcase. But the staff were very nice to help me carry it up to 3rd floor. The light turns off after a short time, so you need to keep waving you hand to the sensor when you are taking shower.
