Absolutely huge bed
Room was modern and clean but the corridors and rest of the hotel were quite old and grubby
friendly easy going staff, price and location
only the weather, but it is February ;)
Friendly staff allowing me to check in at almost 4am which I've not experienced elsewhere! Beds at last minute on a Saturday are usually a premium but at £13.20 this was a bargain. As you can imagine at this price I was not expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. I went into my nice sized room and and found my top bunk (on a non-rickety bed) and to my amazement had a real pillow!!! This is a luxury in hostels as they are usually very thin but I had a very good nights sleep. Check out was 10am so a nice time too.
It was pretty noisy in the morning from about 7;30am but this is not the hostels fault it was just people in the room moving about with little consideration. There is an en-suite which is great but as expected in the morning somebody was having a shower so I couldn't use it. I didn't see any other bathrooms but then again I didn't ask! Didnt see a guest lounge but I wasn't there for long enough to explore.
All of it
The pleasant room
cold breakfast we ate out after the first morning
Friendly staff. Clean room. Nice breakfast.
no parking at hotel but managed to find on street parking very close for cheap.
Good if on a budget and traveling solo, would stay again
Inclusion of breakfast. Simple but sufficient. Very warm bedrooms at a time when temperatures were freezing. Good security. Very polite and helpful staff. They matched any 4 star hotel.
Some of th water closets were difficult to flush but it would seem th hotel is gradually being renovated.
Cheap accomadation ,great location value for money
location was good, staff friendly, room was clean and warm, bathroom was clean, breakfast choice was fine. Great value. Would use them again.
Shower control was either very hot or cold! Window blinds were bad - office vertical blinds with a slat missing gave a great view from the pub opposite into our room and let lots of light in, so it didn't feel very private.
Value for Money, Location, Breakfast, Staff, 24 hr reception desk
The location and view of the sea, the beds were comfortable
The kettle- paint peeled off on the inside and ruined my cup of tea

We loved staying here, very clean, comfortable, very good location, staff very pleasant and helpful, Would use this hotel again. Stayed here in the past and have to say no complaints.
No bacon for breakfast. But then I am addicted to bacon, the breakfast was okay otherwise.

Right near bus stop Cheap Private bathroom
Had to pay for parking - £5 a day!!
The room was a good size and was quiet. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Driving around for 40 minutes trying to find somewhere to park the car.
Staff friendly and helpful. Tried their best to keep areas clean. Staff very accommodating of special requests.
The microwave was broken for my 3 day stay .I feel this could have been resolved much quicker. Spent stay eating fast foods when I had brought microwavable healthy meals. Oven not available.
I knew it wasn't right in the centre of Brighton and we did have to get taxis into Brighton but the staff where all lovely and so helpful! Beds were comfy and it was clean so what more can you ask for?
The distance from the hotel to the centre.
noisy, uncomfortable room
We stayed at Smart View for a Hen weekend. Full of groups between 20-30 yrs old, staff very welcoming. Nice to be offered a continental breakfast which I didn't realised was included, as well as access to a kitchen area for self-catering. Wi-go access. Cleaning could be better but acceptable (take slippers in your luggage). Pleased with my stay.
A bit noisey. Window did not close completely in our room which would be fine on hot days, but it was October and quite cold. Floors could be a bit cleaner.
Needs refurb over price for single or twin room mold in room you can here door closing all day and night worse hotel I stayed never again
