Housekeeping didn't come into my room at all until my very last night there.

The stuff was so helpfull,everytime I had a question they were available to help!they answered my phone call,emails etc.

The best about this hostel is the location, it only takes one minute walking to arrive at the old town's main street.

We booked a shared bedroom with individual beds and they gave us one with bunks.

great location besides the Royal Mile and close to Beverley Station/airport bus station. good value for money

misses atmosphere

1. The hotel present quiet near the Royal Mile (High Street) allowed us not to be spending money on transportation to city center. 2. In the dorm rooms it was a good experience to meet new and random people. 3. Compared to other hotels and hostels, the prices were pretty cheap as well. 4. The Bar with the pool tables was a good place to pass some extra time.

1. The dorm rooms were equipped with only one one toilet. Which got a bit difficult to manage with 7 people staying in the room.

This is the third time I've stayed at the smart city in Edinburgh, it's by far the best hostel I've ever stayed in. It's clean, secure and perfect for location.

You can't check in until 3pm, but you can leave your bags

Very central location, but also quiet. Friendly & big restaurant/bar. Large, comfortable beds & mattresses. Clean rooms (discounting the carpets),. Sufficient variety at the buffet breakfast to keep you satisfied for 3-4 days.

Soap dispenser in one room empty. Heating in another room not working, staff unable to fix it (we were offered a change of room, though). Tv in quadruple room not working. Having to transfer from one room type to another, when our group was reduced in numbers, we were initially told we would need to pack everything by 10 am, leave our luggage in the storage room, and then come back at 1pm to unpack everything again in the new room. This was despite the fact that all bookings had been made simultaneously, under the same name, and we had made it clear in writing that we would very much like to avoid this sort of hassle. After having to negotiate and plead again at the reception desk, logic prevailed.

The hostel is cleaner and confortable. The staff is very polite.

Great location. 24H reception is definitely an advantage. Shared rooms are comfortable and clean enough -- considering their very low cost.

On the downside, the hostel is relatively noisy at week-ends (bar just underneath).

Excellent location in the city center and close to train and bus stations. Excelente localización en el centro de la ciudad y próximo a las estaciones de tren y bus.

My room, floor 1, was beside a pub or the café and music annoyed me until 3 am. Empty shower gel. La música del pub contiguo o la cafetería del hostel incordia, al menos en la planta 1, hasta las 3 de la mañana. Gel de ducha vacío.

The location was excellent, so central. The food in Bar 50 was really good and a great price. Staff were very friendly.

Booked for an overnight stay for a concert. Room was basic although very clean and staff were extremely helpful answering any questions put to them fully and professionally. This was a last minute booking based on price and location and overall the location and cost made our stay a very enjoyable and hassle free one.
