The staff at Smiths really made our stay. So helpful and went out of their way to accommodate us. Breakfast here was also a bonus
Nice clean comfortable place to lay your head in a great location.
The room was quite small, so much so the toilet had to be used side on as the sink is immediately in front of it.
location, facilities, value
Breakfast, and the lovely lady serving it!
Twin room booked, one double/one twin in room, with about 6 inches around sides, making this a very uncomfortable room to stay in. Several hours of hammering, drilling and sawing right outside the room - until 7.30pm-ish. Parking hard to find and a big mess - accessed via muddy, potholed, unpaved lane in back.
Staff were lovely, breakfast was good and shared toilets were clean
Its not free parking, its on free at weekends and thats if ur lucky to find a space. We were moved room as heater didn't work in first. But the heater didn work in other room. Doubt any of them work. The walls are paper thin. We could here the drunk alky scream and curse and swear moast of the night. Along with the person on the other side listening to really loud tv all night.
Staff very welcoming and friendly, have not tasted eggs as good in a long time!
No lift, if you are not 100% fit book a lower floor, stairs a bit dodgy in places especially top stair 3rd floor. Could do with bannister on both side or hold rail on 3rd staircase. Tv reception was poor bit that was because of terrible winds, good job we took the wi fi
room warm shower good clean friendly staff comfy bed breakfast great ideal location
All the staff were welcoming and very helpful
Both my partner (72)and I (68) had to climb to the very top floor (no lift) which became a bit of a problem due to our own health problems
The staff were extremely helpful with directions and I got a lovely welcome
Not keen on the breakfast but didn't expect much at the price I paid
Great little hotel with a cooked english breakfast provided within the price. I was working around Glasgow and it was more that adequate, also loved the fact that there are many take-ways, restaurants, pubs and a sainsbury / tescos within easy walking distance.
The freeview tv reception was not the best.
Poor television signal Pillows Stairs
Omg where do I start.. rude staff, entire place filthy , hard mattress. No signal in TV, no heating facilities no hot water. Dated and worn out furniture. Unclean bedding with spots of blood...yuk! Uneven floorboards with threadbare carpets. Cigarette. Smoke everywhere. No cooked breakfast as promised, undercooked limited food hard tomato, hard unedible sausage, undercooked fried egg. Staff don't understand much English. Stay well clear. Book the holiday inn I stead lol . Would neneve stepfoot in this manky hostel again.
Very tidy and clean. Nice breakfast.
Just location, a little far from the centre if you go on foot.
Fine for family.
Main reason booked location and scottish breakfast ? this did not happen chef on holiday? not likley to book here again.
It Was Warm...
If you were to use a black light on the walls of your room you'd leave, The showers were cold, the bathroom window was missing and covered with a blind. and the walls between the rooms are paper thin... The first night we were subject to two young gay guy's sex fest and the second night two teenage girls with a boy (Barely Of Age If they were...) playing booze sex games and even after complaining about the noise it carried on into the early hours of the morning until they eventually left. And alot of the staff speak little english or understand you. I would like to know how this place is allowed to stay open...
1) I like the ease of internet access. 2) The free breakfast 3) The cozy environment
The bed was a bit too small Reading space was not convenient
the attitude of the hotel staff and the breakfast
The bed is noisy and uncomfortable the door couldn't be closed very tightly the shared bathroom and toilet are not very clean and enjoyable. the shower water is not hot
Excellent location and value for money. Not very slick but you get what you pay for. Very friendly staff.
the price was bad news 68 pound for one night wen u go on to the smiths web site its between 20 to 35 pound a night so god nos were they got 68 from
More than happy with the service and the facilities for my two night stay . The location is quiet but not to far away from bars and shops . Overall everything i wanted for my stay in Glasgow.
The room i stayed in was a twin room which was fine just for me , but feel it would be a little cramped for two .
Staff were friendly and helpful, bed was comfortable. good breakfast and wifi, which I needed worked well
Showers were cold and uncontrollable.
it was super close to the venue of the show and local pubs in the hood are very nice
Location was just perfect as I ad to walk a few miles to University of Glasgow where I attended a conference. Nice reception, had free breakfast and got very comfy room with nice beddings.
Noise coming in from outside traffic, other than that we really enjoyed our stay
