Smithton Hotel  

We only stayed there one night staff went out of there way to help us very friendly and hotel was very clean and it was easy to find and the town was not far would defantly stay again

Bar, Sky Sports, comfy beds.

Lack of blackout curtains in the bedroom , too much light coming through early in the morning.

Nice breakfast in the morning.

Arrived at 3-45 from Glasgow, told bar lunches had stop serving, and evening dinners did not start till 7. This was no good to us as we were meeting the rest of our friends at 7.

The friendliness of the staff. the family room. plenty car parking. the meal in the restaurant. the breakfast.

The squeaky floorboards in the room. cups - i would prefer a mug!!

Friendly helpful staff, friendly atmosphere, clean comfortable rooms, easy to get taxis, good base for day tripping, adjoining family rooms.

Low water pressure in the shower.

Perfect location, lots of car parking, many hotels in town have a parking problem. Close to the large out of town shopping area and cheap petrol / diesel. Room was large, clean and well equipped. Wi-Fi was fast. Breakfast was excellent so much I couldn't eat it all! Bar prices were good, it the local pub for locals!

don't expect it to be very luxurious parking is a bit confusing - no specified parking spots, everybody just parked like they wanted

The Postcode is incorrect & really confusing and we kept roaming around the hotel for half an hour.

Isolation is poor, we could hear the neighbours at night...

Super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Generous food portions. Home made dessert was superb. Could not eat the seconds that was offered as too full. Also grateful that manager helped book taxi and arranged it at a very competitive price. Thank You and looking forward to returning again.

Just a couple of tiny niggles that some might creaky floorboards in room.Cold on arrival, but room warmed within the hour once turned up radiator. Breakfast cereal bowls needed a bit of a clean. The eighth bowl selected was useable.(rest had what appeared to be a powdery residue on them and two had food residue! ). Otherwise was all else was faultless.

Freindly local people and the exelent sea bass!!

Staff were really friendly. We felt cared for. I was part of a group of 4 friends and we all were really pleased with the rooms we were given. The photos on the hotel site do not give a fair representation of the clenliness and size of the rooms. We were all pleasantly surprised. The breakfast was good, lots to chose from, we were well looked after by the waiter.

We never used the bar facility and never had an evening meal, so I cannot comment on anything elas, what we used we were happy with.

This is a basic 1980's Hotel

My room had the kitchen fans in the corner. Noisy until 10.30 then again from 7am Not funny when I was up at 4am that day and really needed an early night. Queried it in the morning with the manager and she couldn't care less.

Nice and friendly welcome. My bicycle was secured overnight in the office. The bedroom was spacious and the bed gave me a really goodnight sleep. Breakfast set me up for the day. I most certainly would stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to fellow travellers.

Poor location, out of town, was not value for money, like staying at a Hotel/Motel in Australia [circa 1980]. As we were isolated by not driving out for dinner as we wish to have a drink with our meal, we dined in to a poor & expensive dinner. Was not value for money at 103 pounds. Advise: Google Map Hotel accommodation before booking. [didn't follow own advise on this one]

Internet unreliable

The staff were wonderful. The opportunity to have a drink in the lobby in the evening was much appreciated. The location was out of the way, but still it was fun to visit the late-night Morrison and go for a bit of a walk.

It was hard to find the hotel. But that was partially my fault for not getting the Tomtom directions correct. The local residents were wonderful. They actually drove ahead and led us right to the hotel. Such a great place and very close to Stirling - once you find your way. Good fun.

close to my training venue, very friendly, nice food, quick taxi journey from the railway station, good clean beds linen and towels.

room was a bit noisy earlier in the evenings with being above the public bar, lots of doors banging with people coming outside to smoke.

the staff were friendly and efficient, the area was very quiet and near where we wanted to visit and was good all round value
