Location Facilities Owner and her dog
Helen is a friendly and helpful host. Her house is charming, our bedroom comfortable and full of character. Had a great night's sleep. Delicious breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
The building, décor, furniture and general environment is beautiful, comfortable and welcoming. Breakfast was out of this world
Decor, comfort, welcome, hospitality 5* breakfast, quirky, spacious
Owner made use feel right at home, her home is beautiful, lovely person, breakfast was out of this world recommended to all
We were very happy with our stay at this small comfortable, charming B&B. Both the double and the suite were excellent (we tried both). The owner Helen was very friendly and accommodating and made us feel really welcome. We also had the most wonderful continental breakfast ever.
Helen made us feel at home with a welcome glass of wine in her beautiful restored forge, our accommodation was perfect as was the breakfast of freshly picked blackberries and fruit beautifully presented along with yoghurt toasted almonds and a cooked breakfast including smoked salmon and scrambled egg 20/10! Not to mention the lovely Milo dog- and the lovely art work/ studio thankyou for a lovely stay.
It was a bit hard to locate for the first time. I drove past it without seeing I.
Everything! Beautiful house, lovely welcome, with a glass of wine. We were made to feel very relaxed and at home. Stunning breakfast served in the lovely conservatory. For a B&B that's a cut above the rest we highly recommend you try Smithy Studio.
Nothing - it's all good!
The welcome from Helen through to the beautiful breakfast the next morning. Simply Faultless.
Impossible to find a single fault...
Did not stay long enough
The one word we would use to describe the stay is 'beautiful.' This not only applies to the house, its furnishings, and the breakfast, but to the hostess and her hospitality. This was the nicest B&B experience we've ever had and we've had many.
Not being able to stay longer.
Delightful old house with the most charming welcome we have ever had in a Bed and Breakfast .We will go back
The welcome I received was excellent even though I was really early, Helen made me a lovely coffee and gave me the choice of rooms. I love to have a bath so I choose the room with the bath. The decor is super the room was really large and confortable. The whole house is beautifully decorated and feels just like home from home. The breakfast is perhaps on the side of being large, this is by no means a bad thing but I could see myself putting on weight if I stayed too long!! Helen is a wonderful lady who can't do enough to make your stay a pleasant one. I will certainly return if I am in the area again and can't recommend The Smithy Studio B&B higher, a great place to stay.
Nothing to dislike at all.
Cant think of any
Only that I wasn't staying longer.
The owner Helen greeted us on arrival and showed us around the suite, couldn't be more helpful or polite. Superb breakfast served each morning by Helen. We had a very comfortable stay in a lovely environment. Small fridge in our lounge area was a bonus.
Wi if was very weak but having said that we didn't complain as we were out most of our stay.
Everything! Helen and Mylo were the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much for Helen. Very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The breakfast was out of this world, I was sad I couldn't finish it all! Will definatley be back for another visit, highly recommended :-) Thank you for a wonderful stay
Everything was perfect, I wouldn't complain about a single thing :-)
Beautiful characterful house. Well appointed room - especially the suite. Superb host. Fantastic breakfast.
Friendly host, great Location and fantastic breakfast with a wide selection to choose from. Ideal place to stay and chill.
It would be worth another trip to Ashby just to stay at the Smithy Studio. Well-positioned, quiet, immediate parking, fresh milk, a glass of wine and a very warm, but not intrusive welcome. The accommodation, on two levels, went well beyond the usual bed and breakfast experience, exploiting sympathetically the beamed architecture of this former blacksmith's premises. Dog friendly. The home of an artist with a thoughtful eye to detail. Paintings, eclectic treasures. A fine breakfast in the conservatory and a secluded, magical courtyard. This is how it should be done.
Having to leave after only one night's stay.
Accommodation, breakfast, position and friendliness.
Nothing everything was great.
This the best B&B I have ever stayed in. There is nothing you could fault in it. The host Helen is one of the nicest people we have met in a long time.
This is simply the best B&B ever. Helen is a delightful host. The breakfasts are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. Milo is a well behaved and very cute dog. I stayed 4 nights (2-6 April) and can't recommend it highly enough.
This is the first place I have stayed where there was absolutely nothing to dislike or that I wished had been different.
