Thank you for the most wonderful hospitality Helen! The room was fantastic, and the breakfast delicious. Your home is absolutely beautiful and we are so grateful for the warmth of your welcome. Your art is really fabulous too; we would recommend this wonderful accommodation to anyone looking for comfort in beautiful surroundings really quietly and well located yet walking distance from the town and all of the restaurants and tourist spots. We shall be back!
The whole experience of the old smithy was a holiday of its own with a wonderfully loved property full of quirky artistic extras . Nothing fazed Helen and I would recommend this B&B to anyone simply even for a getaway in its own ! Loved it !!
We couldn't stay longer !
Helen is such an accommodating host and has missed nothing to make your stay comfortable and pleasurable. It is a beautiful house and home, with character and beauty. The suites are perfect, cosy, private and tasteful. I cannot fault the accommodation, Helen's care and hospitality and her wonderful breakfast.
There is nothing negative to say about Smithy's B&B
we were made very welcome by Helen in her fantastic property room was excellent as was breakfast we cannot wait to stay again
The owner is charming, friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was everything you could ask for and more, and the rooms (we had the suite) were excellent. If I'm in the Ashby area I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Comfortable room, very friendly proprietor, huge freshly cooked breakfast. Located just at top of town, restaurants etc easily accessible.
Helen,a wonderful, friendly host Her dog Breakfast The rooms The location
Everything. Having travelled Australasia, India, Thailand for 12 months the Smithy Studio is up there with the best. Helen was very pleasant, helpful and served the best breakfast we have had this includes 5* hotels. Helen has maintained the character and ambiance of the Old Smithy. We loved it and had a good nights sleep after partying late. Our relatives and friends who stayed at the Royal Hotel were envious and payed considerably more. We highly recommend the Old Smithy 10/10.
Location Facilities Owner and her dog
Helen is a friendly and helpful host. Her house is charming, our bedroom comfortable and full of character. Had a great night's sleep. Delicious breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
The building, décor, furniture and general environment is beautiful, comfortable and welcoming. Breakfast was out of this world
Decor, comfort, welcome, hospitality 5* breakfast, quirky, spacious
Owner made use feel right at home, her home is beautiful, lovely person, breakfast was out of this world recommended to all
We were very happy with our stay at this small comfortable, charming B&B. Both the double and the suite were excellent (we tried both). The owner Helen was very friendly and accommodating and made us feel really welcome. We also had the most wonderful continental breakfast ever.
Helen made us feel at home with a welcome glass of wine in her beautiful restored forge, our accommodation was perfect as was the breakfast of freshly picked blackberries and fruit beautifully presented along with yoghurt toasted almonds and a cooked breakfast including smoked salmon and scrambled egg 20/10! Not to mention the lovely Milo dog- and the lovely art work/ studio thankyou for a lovely stay.
It was a bit hard to locate for the first time. I drove past it without seeing I.
Everything! Beautiful house, lovely welcome, with a glass of wine. We were made to feel very relaxed and at home. Stunning breakfast served in the lovely conservatory. For a B&B that's a cut above the rest we highly recommend you try Smithy Studio.
Nothing - it's all good!
The welcome from Helen through to the beautiful breakfast the next morning. Simply Faultless.
Impossible to find a single fault...
Did not stay long enough
The one word we would use to describe the stay is 'beautiful.' This not only applies to the house, its furnishings, and the breakfast, but to the hostess and her hospitality. This was the nicest B&B experience we've ever had and we've had many.
Not being able to stay longer.
Delightful old house with the most charming welcome we have ever had in a Bed and Breakfast .We will go back
The welcome I received was excellent even though I was really early, Helen made me a lovely coffee and gave me the choice of rooms. I love to have a bath so I choose the room with the bath. The decor is super the room was really large and confortable. The whole house is beautifully decorated and feels just like home from home. The breakfast is perhaps on the side of being large, this is by no means a bad thing but I could see myself putting on weight if I stayed too long!! Helen is a wonderful lady who can't do enough to make your stay a pleasant one. I will certainly return if I am in the area again and can't recommend The Smithy Studio B&B higher, a great place to stay.
Nothing to dislike at all.
Cant think of any
Only that I wasn't staying longer.
