Room was spacious and beds was comfy, bar was reasonably priced, staff friendly. Room was uncomforatbly warm. resident bar was very noisy until 4am which hindered the nights sleep due to noise levels. No tea/coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast piced at £12.95 each guest was very expensive.

The pillows were like paving stones and the room too hot at night. The shower only blasted out cold water in the morning. In the evening it was fine

The food was lovely, breakfast the next morning was the best english breakfast i'd has for a while. The girls in the resteraunt were very friendly and were knowledgable regards the menu. The room was spacious and nice and warm, with all the facilities on hand that you would need, they even had a little shave set and toothpaste set should you forget them which was good. Hairdryer and ironing board were in the room which you don't always get in hotels. All in all a pleasant stay. After reading reviews that the receptionist was extremly friendly we expected a bubbly lady on when we got there, we got the opposite which was a slightly scowly woman, when we got to our room they actually didn't give us the room I booked. We were given a suite which was a little bland in decor instead of a superior room which had all the same facilities but it was nicer decorated and looked more luxurious. But my fiance was happy to say in the suite for the extra space.

Restaurant food was good and waitress excellent even though there were about 15 diners and only one waitress. Where do I start! No wireless as it was being re-installed. Ok I get that but do it at the weekend as business travelers cannot live without wifi these days. The hotel bought 3 wireless dongles for the whole hotel what a joke and you had to wait for ages to use one. As for decor, the main areas of the hotel are about 20 years out of date. The Trimnasium was awful - tiny room in the attic with no heating on and all windows were open - it was -1 deg C outside! Only 3 machines and one was broken. There were a few free weights. No one had cleaned up there as there were weights scattered around on the floor and drinks bottles and lids all over the place. The sauna and steam room were not on either.

Room was large & comfortable Corridor outside room smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke service was very poor & staff didn't know opening times of restaurant - we had to look for someone to serve in the bar and then couldn't have the drink I wanted as the pump wasn't working & the barman couldnt leave the bar unattended to fix
