Lovely big room and bathroom, lovely shower, kind and caring people, nothing too much trouble and a delicious breakfast - even with soya milk for my daughter. We will certainly be back
The room was quite large, as was the bathroom. At the top of the grand staircase there's a welcoming array of snacks and drinks for purchase. Host was friendly and had lots of information about the area to share. Wish we could have stayed longer.
The bathroom was across the hall. (We knew that when we booked the room.)
Excellent hotel, quiet location, easy access into Durham, nothing to much trouble for Jim. Thank you Jim for your hospitality.
Light airy room with a comfortable bed. We also liked the honesty shop with a reasonably good selection of wines and savoury snacks, useful if you are late arriving. The breakfasts were really good made with locally farmed meats. Great staff.
Turning right into the driveway, a little hairy, as the locals drive very quickly.
Great breakfast. Loved having a large room and bathroom attached
The wifi was a massive plus for me, the modem was located right outside my room so we had a strong signal, the location was very nice a large manor house with a long drive off the main road so there was no noise, room was huge bed was comfy and the hosts and food was fantastic!
Fantastic place to stay next to great historic town.
There's lots to like at Sniperley Hall unfortunately the mattresses cannot be included in that overall assessment. The breakfast was excellent and the helpfulness of staff was terrific but our stay was spoilt by a very very uncomfortable mattress on our bed. The staff did what they could to help (we shuffled the mattresses that were on our bed around with the help of staff which helped the problem slightly) but the fact remains that the mattresses on our bed seemed to be quite old and they were very uncomfortable. I would recommend Sniperley Hall but for the bed we encountered.
Room and en suite excellent Great breakfast Welcoming host Good location for access to Park and Ride into Durham City - less than ten minute bus trip
Very welcoming host and large, comfortable room with lovely view. Excellent breakfast
No dislikes at all
It was like an old manor house. We stayed in two large rooms that were lovely. The grounds were beautiful, even in the rain. Breakfast was fabulous!
That we only stayed one night.
We had room number 2,the bathroom was on the opposite of our room,a bathrobe would be nice !Also there is no table in the room
Peaceful, interesting history, breakfast, locality to Durham, owners, sleep quality, and a lot more.
Nice & helpful hotelowners, beautiful surroundings, perfect shower, big, clean & comfortable bedroom, sitting room & bathroom. Perfect wifi.
Don't drive too fast or may miss the entry to the hotel.
The room was large and airy with a large comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent, particularly the bacon and sausages, which I believe were produced from local rare breed pigs. The honesty shop is a good idea especially if you did not feel like going out.
The bed was very comfortable; The bathroom was beautiful; The breakfast was superb; The hosts could not have been more helpful; Wonderful B&B
We were concerned that the noise when water was being used in our room would disturb other guests.
Location, peaceful, relaxing, the owners, size of the room, breakfast, cleanliness, just about everything.
The heating was really efficient, so during the night we became very warm, and had a small problem opening and keeping open the window, really something and nothing.
Friendly and welcoming. Lovely large house. Liked availability of bottles of wine, bear, soft drinks and crisps beautifully displayed on the spacious landing, with an honesty jar. Room comfortable, with an excellent breakfast served. Definitely need a car.
Found books on crystals and Angels in bedroom a bit ott. Places to eat were not within walking distance, needed to take a car.
Was welcomed at the door by the owners and showed to room. very helpful, offered to help with bags etc.
couldn't get the internet during the evening but was ok in the morning.
Free Wi-Fi which excellent Large bedroom Comfort and quality of accommodation, peaceful surroundings but near Durham centre
Air of quiet understated quality as you walk through the front door onto thick carpets. Up stairs the bedrooms lead off a large airy landing where there is a "honesty bar " containing wine, snacks and a fridge with soft drinks. The bedrooms are large and well equipped and the bathroom huge with large bath and shower -- hot water is almost instantaneous. An ample supply of fresh towels also meant that a luxurious soak was finished with warm, comforting towels. The television in the bedroom was new and the tray of bisquits and tea and coffee was replenished daily. The bottle of sparkling water was also a bonus. Breakfast was a delight -- everything that one would wish for before heading off for a day of exploring Durham.
1)Having to leave after 4 nights of pampering. 2) Having to say no to the "full English" breakfast. 3) Having to say goodbye to a most attentive host who presented a breakfast table and sideboard with absolutely everything one could wish for.
Accommodation Mine Host Jim Llewelyn excellent Food options Information on location and the area readily available.
Wasn't anything not to like couldn't fault it
