The Snooty FoxMarket Place, GL8 8DD Tetbury (Show map) Excellent, Score from 91 reviews“Lovely food, good choice of menu. Beautiful building and deco.”
Peter,
Beckenham
This quintessential English inn in the heart of the market town of Tetbury offers a cozy bar, inviting bistro and carefully refurbished bedrooms with private bathrooms. Step through the pillars into the hallway and find the bar where the locals sit and chat. A large, copper-domed inglenook fireplace completes the scene. From here you can wander through to the bistro that offers hearty local food produced with flair and imagination. The cities of Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham and Gloucester are all a short drive from Tetbury, and highway M4 (exit 18) is within easy reach. Hotel Rooms: 12, Hotel Chain: Hatton hotel Group.

We like the Snooty Fox because of the lovely location and the surrounding countryside. All the staff are friendly and the food is always excellent. We can bring are little dog too which can be a real problem when we go away normally. It just makes life easier. A relaxing break always.

The staff were extremely friendly, which is so important when, like us, you only have an occasional night away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, visiting local gardens and shops, only wish we had the time to do it more often. The carpets in the corridor to our room are clearly in need of replacement, I suspect a refurb is due shortly. However, the service more than made up for this.

Lovely old style rooms and lively pub atmosphere. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Going up stairs it was very obvious that the hotel needed money spent on carpets and wallpaper, General decoration was poor and very worn especially leading up to their most expensive suite which we stayed in. The shower in that room was barely a trickle and the curtains did not work on the pulley system. We were unable to eat at the hotel as there was a fully booked themed night and we were unsure as to whether we would get a decent meal.

The staff couldn't have done more to make our stay comfortable. The carpets throughout the hotel have seen better days - they're a bit tatty. The shower is via the bath tap mixer & doesn't have enough pressure.

We visited Highrove and toured around various Cotswold villages. The Snooty Fox was very comfortable and welcoming with a good selection of Real Ales. It was lively and centrally placed in Tetbury.

We loved the humour of the the snooty fox - and the mascot - and the notes of the previous mascot's adventures. Breakfast was great and the surroundings, just lovely. My father was born near here in 1889 and he loved the fox hunts. In all, our stay was perfect until we came out to find a parking ticket on the car. No elevator.

Fantastic hotel, staff very friendly, professional and courteous. The hotel itself is beautifully kept, cosy but luxurious and extremely clean. The food can only be described as exceptional, we ate dinner which was freshly cooked and of a very high standard. The smoked salmon and scrambled eggs at breakfast are to die for. Our room was very comfortable and well decorated with a view of the Market square, the Jacuzzi bath is fab. Overall a lovely hotel, extremely good value cannot recommend highly enough, thank you.

This 12-room hotel is more like a small country-house than an hotel! The staff, from the manager Marc, to the waiters and waitresses, are so welcoming that you feel like you are staying with friends. The hotel ambience is very relaxing, with daily papers provided for you to borrow. There's a well-stocked hospitality tray in your room, including yummy cookies. The cooked breakfast is freshly prepared for you, and it's presented like something off a tv cookery-show. The dinner menu is excellent too. Nothing is to much trouble for the staff. My wife has a dietary problem so the chef, Paul, created a special menu… just for her to choose from! You could not choose better than the Snooty Fox… if you'd like to stay in the Tetbury area. Fred, the great dane, is an added bonus!

“The staff was courteous and very attentive, especially the front desk staff, Emma and Maria who helped me with a near disaster situation--the loss of my luggage containing passports, etc. They also arranged a stay at another hotel for me as they had no vacancies when I decided to extend my stay in Tetbury. They deserve very high marks for their service.” James, Washington, Dc |
