What's not to like!!!!

Nice country location. Very comfortable. Friendly, courteous waiter. Ample car parking.

Being overcharged for a newspaper. Lighting in bathroom too low.

Excellent location, peaceful, well manicured grounds. Ideal for a quiet getaway. Nothing is a problem to the staff, really enjoyed our stay.

Nothing to dislike.

Beautiful bedrooms and surroundings

The noise in room 9 all night, we were not told about the constant noise from beneath the bedroom from the extraction or the water system and unfortunately we didnt get a wink of sleep!

Helpfulness of the staff and the food

No major problems

The waiter (Kevin) was very good and helpful, polite and courteous. The rooms were very nice.

I feel that not enough care was taken in reading my booking. When I arrived there was a problem in that the receptionist said she had not received my amendment to my booking from 3 to 2 nights. I had a copy and had to produce it as proof. We were taken to room 18 by Kevin which was a long way and up various flights of stairs, and along corridors. When we got into the room, there was a flight of stairs down to the bathroom from the bedroom. I was dismayed as I had requested not too many stairs as my husband has a mobility problem. I asked the receptionist if she had noticed my request, she had to look it up to see what it was, and apologised. I had to get all our luggage back down all the stairs to reception. We were given room 25 which was much more suitable and near the disabled parking. The receptionist was very apologetic.

The location, the ambiance, the experience was all superb. The rooms were very clean. Even though it was very quiet the staff were attentive, especially Kevin the breakfast waiter, he was so caring about his job, oh don't forget the quality of the breakfast, it was fresh, hot and unlike a lot of hotels where we stay, very good. Thanks to all.

Shower pressure was poor. We went into Northallerton for dinner, there wasn't much choice?

What's not to like

The food was excellent. We were treated wonderfully by the staff. Our waiter, Josh, was so attentive in an unobtrusive way. The room was very comfortable and spotless. We were present at Solberge while a wedding party and a birthday party were taking place but we were not inconvenienced in any way by either. The staff were very conscious to make our stay a pleasant one.

There was nothing negative about our visit.

There was a wedding on the Saturday Night and as we were dining at the hotel they gave us a member of staff to look after us all night so we wouldn't be waiting for anything.

Water pressure wasn't brilliant and it took a while for the hot water to come through, but let's be fair it's an old building and they are updating at the moment

Staff are a real asset to this hotel nothing is too much trouble.

Solberge Hall is a very relaxing, comfortable place to stay at. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is exceptional.

Corridor outside bedroom was scruffy. Evening meal menu was poor, very little choice.

The hotel combines old fashioned service with updated furnishings of a pleasing nature. The location is peaceful. Most of all the welcome and attentive service from the hotel staff made it a memorable break.

The Hotel is beautiful and well presented and it was a delight to be there.

The food was disgusting, it was cold, uncooked and was not of the standard expected to compliment the Hotel. I understand from the staff the following day, that the Head Chef was not in attendance when we and other residents had complained of the food standard. Needs immediate attention or custom will be lost!!!
