used to have one electric plug adaptator, but seems one guest didn't bring it back... so wasn't, had to go and buy one... So don't forget to bring yours or buy one in advance, or maybe hotel will buy again few ones...

Friendly and very efficient. Well organised rooms that offer everything for a stopover. Parking is a bit difficult on arrival as we were late. Love the decor. We have stayed a few time now different room each time. Excellent . Happy with continental breakfast good choice .

Thank you to the staff at Somerset House for an outstanding contribution to hospitality in Portsmouth/Southsea. We stayed 1 night only and could find nothing to complain about; not even I, an avid watcher of 'four in a bed!' The room was delightful, breakfast was good and wholesome and my cousin wallowed for an hour and a half in his Jacuzzi bath. Everything was cleaned to a very high standard with Occitane toiletries as an extra treat. Thank you all so much.

Nicely modernised Edwardian house with very comfortable room. Great shower! All the staff were very welcoming and really helpful. The location is great for Southsea and a reasonable walk to Old Portsmouth and the Spinnaker/Gunwharf Quay

Some rather heavy footsteps from the room above and in the hall outside our room early in the morning. Not sure that can be avoided. The free continental breakfast options were modest but ok for our appetities. Hungry guests might prefer to opt for the paid cooked breakfast.

Was only for 1 night but I loved my stay here for the rooms size and design. Would have liked to stay longer.

Room was downstairs so was a little noisy in the morning when people were leaving.

The hotel is in a very good position to explore Portsmouth and southsea , the rooms are modern and comfortable the staff were very helpful. I didn't have a perfect stay but the problem was sorted out quickly and to my satisfaction and I will be returning to this hotel and would recommend it to other travellers both for business or pleasure.

stayed in room 7, great sized room, even better sized bed, lots of luxuries for a romantic weekend away :)

we stayed in ground floor room on a friday night, we had a car alarm going off loads during night - but this is so not your fault, also the wooden stairs going to upper rooms meant we were woke up at 7am with people or kids going up and down the stairs. everything else was perfect and the problems during the night are understandable so no complaints :)

The staff were very helpful on arrival, checking out and at breakfast time. The room was very spacious, with large comfortable bed. The en-suite was lovely. The atmosphere in the breakfast room was very relaxed.

No fruit available at breakfast on 2nd morning as the food order hadn't arrived. Although a nice atmosphere the breakfast room was a bit small.

the staff were excellent always willing to give or find any imformation needed, the breakfast selection available was varied, the room was very comfortable. Good location close to the sea and the new shopping and tourist centre was within a pleasent walking distance.

we found the toilet in the room was very small, would be a tight fit for the larger person. next time we would book a room with a bath although the shower was excellent. I would imagine that during the busier times parking could be a problem, but the hotel did supply foc a local parking permit.

Lovely hotel. Very clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was a good selection. Would definitely recommend and stay again ourselves. If only other hotels were of this high standard!

Only thing I would change was the bed! It was very comfy just really creaky everytime I moved.

Lovely comfortable room, shower & spa bath,, plenty of room. Ideal location, never been to southsea before. Most definitely return.

Very late check in at 3pm, travelled down early , went bk at 2:40 and was told room still not ready :-(

When a place is described as a boutique hotel I expect it to be more chic. Parts were very well done and pretty but woodwork, decor, and general finish needed attention. Carpets and sofas needed a shampoo. It was more like a very nice B&B.
